“Yes, something like that,” he said.

“I am not interested, Matthew, I am seeing someone at the moment,” she replied. She lied that she was seeing someone just so she could let Matthew down easily.

Jennifer doesn’t want to date anyone in the office or even have a close friend, so she could avoid people not finding out her secret.

“Alright, I understand that,” Matthew said.

“Yeah, but we can be friends, right?” Jennifer replied.

“Of course,” Matthew muttered.

They both continued eating their food. After they were done, they both went back to the office.

Later in the evening,

At Scott’s mother’s mansion.

Scott and his mother were sitting in her living room. Mike was standing at the entrance to the living room. The room was very huge, with big chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and a big flat-screen TV at the center of the room, with a fireplace.
