The bartender clinked a few glasses as he studied her with a cunning wolf-like glare. He was definitely younger than middle age, but the beard made him appear older. His lips were still curled in a grin. Do you want to understand her? Or did he see what a fraud she really was? Crap! She instantly understood that he recognized her. It didn't matter that her eyes had become blue or that she had dyed her hair a hideous hue that did nothing for her light skin. It didn't matter that she wore her hair straight as uncut grass, thanks to a hair straightening iron, although her sister's and hers was naturally wavy, or that the heavy padded leather jacket gave her wider shoulders and made her seem heavier. Ravena prayed no one could smell that she was a lupus garou and not one of their own kind, despite the fact that she was wearing a ton of ostentatious human fragrances and, of course, the stench from the recent dye job—despite the fact that she had tried to mask that scent by washing her hair with strawberry shampoo. Ravena was going to attack her once again now that he was back. In a million years, no.
