Chapter 13
We kept shooting the infected as they staggered towards us in their numbers. Smith and I held the frontline while Austin backed us up with Lorenzo shooting from his Ar-15.
"I'm out" Smith said swapping his rifle with a Colt pistol from his holster.
"Ar-15 mag." I called at Austin and he threw a full magazine over the defensive wall we built.
I passed the magazine to Smith and continued shooting at the infected while Smith reloads his gun.
The infected are dangerously close by now are trying their possible best to break through the obstacles dividing us with their weight.
We took calculated steps backwards as the weight on the pallets and boxes increased while shooting at the same time.
"They're gonn' break in" Smith said at the top of his voice trying to be heard amidst the deafening sounds of gunshots.

It's been two days now since Joe died and we're trying to keep our mind away from what happened but it's not easy, especially for me. I've seen lots of people die in my presence, but never have I witnessed someone die because of me. I tried hard to forget it, but the scene kept playing in my mind like a movie.
