Back to school- New dress code

Miguel POV:

School? If I was told three days ago that I was going to be allowed to go to school, I would have beaten that person to a pulp but here I was, with my backpack, standing before my school gates. Of course, I was getting the weird stares but who cares? This is me and I felt really unbothered because I have passed through hell three days ago. I had no idea what caused the devil to change his mind about letting me go to school. I almost thought it was Sebastian but not until I saw them trying to pull their heads off did I realize there was no way that devil, Devon, was going to listen to him.

I took a deep breath in, ready to start school. I have never been so happy to start school than I was today. I guess Devon's beatings did one on me.

"Miguel!" And there, I had to hear my name being called by the rat who made my first encounter with the devil disastrous. I didn't blame her because I knew if it was fate, I was definitely going to meet Devon sooner or later.

Before I had time to yell her name back, I was pounced on and we both fell to the floor, making me wince in pain not because of the beatings of Devon but because the floor was damn hard!

I noticed the wounds I got from Devon's beatings had healed faster than normal but I threw that aside since I believed it was as a result of feeding well now. Indeed, I was being stuffed by Sebastian without Devon knowing. I was yet to know the relationship between the two because I had no idea what they were. I almost thought they were brothers because of their resemblance but it wasn't until I heard them cursing at each other's parents did I realize something was off. Something I was definitely not going to butt into.

"Would you please get off me, Shirley?" I cried out from under the petite lady who was almost the same size as me. This was to show how small I was.

"Oh, I'm sorry, my bad," She apologized but was still shamelessly lying on me.

"Shir...ley," I gritted my teeth in anger as I called out her name. I felt her shiver and the next second, she was off me, smiling foolishly at me with twinkling eyes.

I helped myself up and dusted the dirt's off my body. It took five minutes to clean myself up and when I raised my head, lo and behold, she was still staring at me, Smiling foolishly.

"Ok, now, What the hell is going on?" I had no choice but to curse loudly because I was getting goosebumps from her weird stares.

"Ha, MIGUEL HILLENBURG, did you just curse at me?" She fake gasped, making me roll my eyes as I took steps into the school compound, ignoring her.

"Why did you decide to dress no...like this today?" I heard her ask, her eyes going up and down my figure making me frown.

Of course, I couldn't tell her that this was the cloth the devil ordered me to wear this morning just as I was about putting on my usual hoodie. Unlike before, where my head, legs and hands aside my face were always covered, this time, I was wearing a newly bought jeans paired with a white sneakers and a black top. The only thing that remained was a spectacle for me to look like a nerd.

Moreover, I really felt uncomfortable with these clothes but who was I to disobey the devil?

"Miguel!" Shirley screamed in my ear making me widen my eyes in horror. I was about settling the scores with her when I heard her question once again.

"Where has your mind being? You didn't answer my question. Did the sun rise from the west today? Why did you dress like this?" She asked, making me frown. Does this dressing not suit me? I thought it did because just before I left that castle, Sebastian gave me a thumbs up, telling me I looked great. Of course, I didn't forget about the anticipated kiss we were going to have but got interrupted by Devon. Thinking about that scene made me blush as my cheeks turned hot. Do i like him?

"Don't tell me you're blushing because of the question I asked? Miguel, what has gotten into you?" Shirley's voice jolted me back from my fantasy as I scratched my neck in awkwardness. How was i supposed to answer her?

"No! Umm...I just decided not to hide anymore," I lied smoothly in an absolutely cool tone.

"Finally! Finally! You've decided to heed my advice," She cried out and I stared at her like she had grown two heads.

She would have noticed I was lying if only she paid attention to my shaking hands and shivering legs.

I nodded my head in mock approval hoping she'd drop the subject about my dress code as soon as possible.

Just when I thought it had all ended, I had to hear his voice. I didn't even realize we were now in the hallway, close to our lockers.

"Well, well, well, who do we have here?" He asked and I noticed the loons people were giving me. Most were of awe and envy from especially the girls. This confused me!

What were they envying in me? Was it my skins and bones or my sickly look? These questions were only at the tip of my tongue as a frown marred my face. I didn't pay attention to the attention seeker before me as I was trying so hard to stop myself from yelling that question aloud.

I really wanted to know what these girls were envying in me because I was really confused and yet to understand.

"Bastard! How dare you ignore me?" From the corner of my eyes, I saw his hand moving at a fast speed towards my face and almost reflexively, my body bent backwards as I pulled Shirley down with me. It was like I wasn't in control of my body anymore.

The astonishing thing was that the posture I bent my body in was a posture that no one had ever done. I was bent with my knees shooting out and my upper body facing the other side. I was like in a bending-sitting position and the surprising thing was that it felt like someone was holding my waist, stopping me from falling or was it only my imagination?
