Mag-log inScarlett
My eyes opened and tears fell from them before I could even hold them back. I could feel my chest tighten and my hands folded into a fist. I didn't even know how I ended up in the hospital. I didn't even care to look to see if there was someone around me or not. “Doctor, she's awake," I heard someone say before Chris Mandoza's footsteps started echoing, and before I knew it, he was in front of me. “Ms. Brown thank goodness you're fine," he said before asking the nurse to jot something for him from the heart monitor. I could hear what he was saying but my mind was far away. Deep in my thoughts where betrayal was still looking at me like some fool. I couldn't even get myself to say a word but something else made me look at the doctor. My baby. I wasn't feeling it. What the hell happened to my baby? My heart started pounding fast and I was about to sit straight when the doctor told me that it was impossible at that moment. I held his hand and asked if my child was OK but the response he gave me shattered my entire being. “I'm sorry Ms. Brown. It couldn't make it." "No, that's not true. That's not true, where is my baby?” I cried, placing my hand on top of my stomach that was already hurting. "Ms. Brown, please be careful, it could open the wounds,” the doctor warned, but I didn't care. I just felt like going back in time at that moment. Why would fate be this unfair to me after all those failed attempts? The two things that were about to be my joy disappeared at that very moment we're about to be complete. I was four months pregnant and wasn't going to tell Daniel until our wedding was over. He always told me how much he wanted to be a father and raise our children, but we never got the results after multiple attempts. On our last try, the results were first negative, but after I visited the doctor again, he told me I was going to be a mother. Just like every woman out there, I was happy and couldn't wait to tell Daniel, but he was on a business trip as always, so I waited for him to return, but even when he did, I just wanted to make the news special, so I kept it secret. Now it's all gone. My baby is gone, and I'm here crying on a hospital bed, squeezing the sheets with both anger and pain. I didn't even know which was hurting the most. The betrayal from a man you've built or the loss of a baby you couldn't wait to have. “You're so dramatic. Do you know what would happen if the media found out?" Evelyn asked, looking at me with a disgusted face as she walked towards my bed. She's Daniel's mother, and all she cares about is keeping their family name clean. Although I overlooked some of the things she would say to me. I wasn't going to have it anymore. Not after what her son's betrayal cost me. “Mrs. Cross, I don't think Ms. Brown is in a good condition for harsh treatment right now," the Doctor said but she didn't care. “What are you even talking about Doctor? I'm sure this girl is just looking for attention," Evelyn said looking at the Doctor. I would have slapped the daylights out of her if I had enough energy because, being a woman, she would understand the pain of losing a child you've been waiting for so long, but Evelyn was celebrating instead. “She had a what? I doubt that child was even for my son, and if it were, then losing it should be a blessing. I mean there won't be scandals in the future,” Evelyn said about sitting next to me when I asked her to leave. “What did you just say?" she asked, looking at me with disgust. “I said leave my room now," I managed to say even though my tone was low. “Agh, I wouldn't even care to come, OK. I am only here because Daniel heard what happened,” she smirked before taking her handbag. I didn't know what I had done to deserve so much hatred, but the fact that she said my child's death was a blessing made me realize how much she didn't want me in their family. How could I even be so blind? The door closed and Evelyn had walked out. I was just on my hospital bed unable to sit straight because the pain coming from my stomach was unbearable. It was as if it could relate to my hurt. The nurse brought me food and water but I refused to eat. I couldn't even feel hungry. “Baby," I had a familiar voice say before I looked at her — Zoe, my best friend. I couldn't help but cry the moment she came closer to my bed. “Wait. Scarlett what's going on here?" she asked, looking at my stomach. I didn't even know where to start, but I managed to tell her that I lost my baby, and she just couldn't help but try to keep me calm. “Aww, I'm so sorry this happened to you, Scarlett. I'm here now, stop crying, your eyes are swelling, baby," she said, kissing me on the forehead. I couldn't wipe my tears. The entire day just felt like hell. It was evening, and Zoe had to go change and then come back again, but I didn't want to burden her. “I'm not going until you take your food," she said, holding the bowl of rice in her hands. “I'm not feeling hungry. " “I know but I still want you to eat," she insisted. I didn't have an appetite. Water was the only thing I could drink so I asked her to give me just that. After some minutes, Zoe went back home, and the nurse brought my medications. “Ms. Brown. I'm sorry for what happened, please take your medicine," she said, handing me the pill. "Thanks,” I whispered before taking it. I did feel bad and wanted to be alone. “I'll be at the door please let me know if you want anything," the nurse said before walking out. “Scarlett!" The voice and face I didn't want to see shouted, looking at me with worry, but I knew he was probably here to make sure I was dead. I didn't even care about how scared he looked. It was Daniel Cross. My cheating fiancè.CHAPTER 55Scarlett George and I stood on the balcony of Hotel Strand, admiring the view of the beach. While everyone was inside having fun.“This champagne tastes good Scarlett, are you sure you don't want to have some?" he asked, smiling at me.“No, I'm fine," I responded.“You've changed so much and I hope you liked the President's gift," he said when I suddenly looked at him.“How did you know? Wait are you the one that—" “No, I didn't do anything. I just told him who's behind the suits that make me glow and he made a move without my knowledge. I'm so happy for you," he said and I couldn't believe how much he was willing to sacrifice.“George. You…you're so unbelievable. You don't know how much this means to me,” I held his hand."Don't worry, Scarlett, more is coming. You're not going to believe how much more is waiting for you,” George smiled. We made our way to the hall and found that everyone was just busy having the best time. Mr. Black kept calling me to introduce me to so
CHAPTER 54Scarlett I got into my car and drove to BLACK STUDIOS. There were a couple of materials I needed to take home, so I didn't even mind going since I was sure everyone would have knocked off already.I drove for a few minutes and was at the building already. I got out of my car and then made my way inside the building. Just as I was about to close the door I heard Nia calling my name.“Scarlett, did I see you coming out of that Benz?" she whispered when she got closer.“Oh, that's right. I just got myself that baby," I smiled while she pulled out her eyeballs as though I just said something bad.“Are…are you being for real?” she asked."Yup or will you only believe it if I show you my keys?” I asked, swinging them in her face."Oh my Scarlett I just can't tell you how happy I am, congratulations. You honestly deserve all this,” she rushed into my arms.“Thank you. I've got to get a few things in the workroom. You can go look for a cab at the rank if you don't mind," I joked b
CHAPTER 53Scarlett I took a deep breath the moment Damien walked out of my office and then stood up to smell the roses the president's PA brought me. I couldn't even remember the last time someone gave me those. I could tell they cost enough to get someone like Daniel to kiss my shoes or even Damien since he was a disgusting Boss.“Oh my goodness, Scarlett, you'll not believe where your party is going to be held," Nia walked in, about to close my door when I asked her not to.“I doubt I'd make it. Please leave that open. I need to get somewhere. Please take care of everything in the workroom." I stood up, about to walk out, when Mr. Black came in.“Ms. Brown, may I have a word with you?" he asked, and I nodded before looking at Nia, who was probably annoyed, before making my way to the workroom.“Is everything OK Sir?" I asked him.“Yes, but I don't know if we're willing to let you go at such short notice. I've received the news that the president would like you to handle his outfi
CHAPTER 52Scarlett “We were going to tell you, but this just needed a big celebration; therefore, I've decided to take everyone to celebrate this wonderful achievement after work," Mr. Black announced, and everyone clapped their hands with excitement.I was so emotional at that moment. For a moment it felt like I was dreaming. I just won the president's heart with my King Men's suit piece, which I sent with his PA after it was requested that we needed to send outfits he could wear to Italy.I swear, I wasn't sure what to send, as this was a president we're talking about here. The King piece suits were all I had, so I just added a few things to them and handed them over. I was certain the president had many fashion designers at his beck and call. So if he didn't like my suits. Another designer would definitely get him something that matched his likes. After he chose my suits and was pleased with my skills, he sent me a brand new Benz and a sum of money I would have to work three tim
CHAPTER 51Scarlett It's been about three days since I sent my resignation letter, and neither Mr. Black nor Mr. Pierce has responded. I'm just not used to working under ungrateful persons. I moved this side for peace not a second wave of torture. I heard my doorbell ring, so I made my way downstairs in my nightgown. I was sure it was the delivery guy after what happened at the office. I don't think Nia would come to my place.I reached the door and slightly opened it to greet the person on the other side when my smile faded the moment I noticed that it was Damien Pierce. Not again I said at the back of my head about closing the door in his face when he pushed it back and then entered. Goodness, I was in a night gown.“I'll scream, sir, what are you doing?" I asked, taking a few steps back, though he was coming towards me.“Agh, Ms. Brown, you need to calm down. I'm not that type of man. I just came to let you know that I…I mean, we have rejected your resignation and would like yo
CHAPTER 50Daniel I couldn't take it anymore. The emptiness in the penthouse was going to consume me if I didn't find Scarlett so I made my way to Zoe's place even though she threatened to call the cops if I went there again.I knocked at her door but there was no response. I made up my mind to stand there till she came to answer.“I've got to be dreaming. Daniel Cross, what the hell are you doing here?” She shook her head."Zoe…I just want to know where Scarlett is please don't do this to me. I want to talk to her and make things right," I responded but she just laughed.“What things are those Daniel? It's almost months since you guys broke up and Scarlett is doing great without you. I wouldn't dare tell you where she is, even if it meant saving your life. OK, now get going because I've plans for the evening," she said about shutting the door in my face, but my arm blocked her.“Zoe, please, if it's about money, just say the price. I'll have it sent right now. I just need Scarlett,"
