LOGINInnessa couldn't sleep for the last three nights. She was doing her best to avoid Issac. She ignored his texts and stayed out of his radar. She left the academy early for work and clocked off early from the cafe for the past three days.
She even complained to the security guard that someone had climbed into her window three days ago, but escaped so they should tighten their security. She didn't mention who it was and lied that she didn't see that person's face. Though it was difficult for her to lie, she didn't want to trouble Issac and just wanted to keep her distance from him for the respect of what little good memories she had with him, though it was all just a lie.
Innessa couldn't stop thinking about everything that happened three days ago. She was still scared that he might show up in her room while she was sleeping. He had tried to call her multiple times, but she didn't answer.
The girl couldn't even focus on her studies. She was so consumed by his thoughts. The fact that made her blame herself the most was how she could be so blind.
Innessa wouldn't lie. She missed him. She missed talking to him. Their FaceTime, those sweet messages, his kind gestures, him taking care of her, looking at her with those beautiful eyes. She missed him so much, and the more she missed him, the more it hurt her knowing he hid the truth from her.
But if she had known the truth, Innessa would've stayed miles away from him. Never asked for his help. She had talked to Elena yesterday, and she told her how Issac was a famous entity. He was super rich and had links with the mafia and all that. Innessa pretended in front of her that she knew everything, which comforted Elena, and she talked more about him and ended up revealing what everyone at the academy knew about Issac.
Aside from betrayal. She was going through such intense heartache. It was the first time she was going through such a heartbreak, and the girl was having difficulty coping with it.
Last night, she received a delivery of three huge bouquets of red roses with a card saying, 'I'm sorry, love.' She requested the security guard to return those bouquets to the delivery person, but he said the person had already left. She knew they were from Issac.
She didn't know what to do with them. Though the last two flowers she got from Issac were resting in her diary, now it was different. She didn't throw those flowers out, but she deleted the post holding Issac's hand from her I*. She also blocked his contact number.
Innessa didn't want to go on like this. She should move on and make him believe so, then he'd leave her alone.
After her class, she was standing near the lockers. Elena asked her if everything was fine because she deleted the post with Issac, to which she just nodded and dismissed the topic. She told her she wasn't hungry. Elena went to the cafeteria while Innessa grabbed her books from the locker.
She was heading to her next class when she found Henry walking down the hallway. Their eyes met briefly before he averted his gaze and walked past her. He was still in bandages but looked better than last time. She was glad Issac didn't do anything to him further.
She was aimlessly walking down the hall when she noticed the students giving her glances and whispering behind her back. Innessa had gone through this once before when the rumors spread out that she was dating Issac, but only a few people knew it at that time.
Innessa was in her next class when Elena joined her. She was grinning as she nudged Innessa's shoulder with her own. "Your man is obsessed with you," she teased, causing her brows to furrow.
"Haven't you seen his recent post?" Elena asked as Innessa shook her head. Elena quickly shuffled through her phone and shoved it at Innessa's face with a grin, causing the girl to move back to properly look at the screen, and her eyes widened.
It was their picture together, and that wasn't it. Their lips were locked in a kiss. Though she was barely seen in the picture, it was evident that it was Innessa and that they were kissing. Her eyes were closed. She didn't know when he clicked this picture. They were in his car. A shudder scraped the back of her neck as she glanced at the students peeking at her meekly.
Her stomach twisted up in knots when she read the caption.
'Mine 🖤'
She gulped, staring at the caption, he used a black heart, unlike the red heart last time. Why was he doing this? She had broken up with him then, why? Innessa shivered, recalling how he dangerously told her she belonged to him.
The professor stepped into the class, and she shook her head and faced the professor while Elena wiggled her brows at her.
Innessa couldn't concentrate throughout the class. There were so many things going through her mind. She had to spend all the academic years like this, and Issac continued to do such things. What would she do then?
She wanted to confront him and demand that he delete the post, but she was scared. There was a feeling that he wouldn't take it well if she did that. So, she decided to ignore him and hoped that he'd forget about her soon, but the thought that he'd forget her made her heart constrict in pain. She was in turmoil.
After classes, she hurried to the cafe. Jasper, her boss, has been noticing how down she looked for the past three days. He had professionally inquired from her if everything was okay, to which she assured him she was fine, but he was worried because she wasn't smiling like she used to.
After work, Jasper asked the whole staff to have dinner with him and it would be on him. Everyone happily agreed. Innessa wasn't feeling it, but it was her first dinner with her boss and colleagues, so she agreed. All of them walked down the street to the nearest famous BBQ place.
Innessa was walking silently behind everyone. A second later, she felt a presence beside her. She looked up to find Jasper walking beside her. Today, he was donning a sky-blue shirt and khaki pants: the color of the shirt complemented his blue eyes.
"Are you alright?" He asked.
"Yes, I'm fine."
"Do you like BBQ?"
"I do." She said, and then silence prevailed, so she asked him the same thing.
"And you?"
"Oh, I love BBQ," he said happily as she smiled softly.
"What's the matter, Innessa? You look sad these days. If you want, you can share it with me. I'd love to help," he said earnestly as she blinked at him, surprised, before passing him a small, tight-lipped smile.
"It's just I miss my family and feel homesick," she didn't lie though; she did miss her family a lot.
"Then you should go visit them. I can book a ticket for you, I'll take care of the money," he said, and her eyes widened as she stared at him, stunned.
"N... No, thank you. It's fine, and also, my exams are approaching. I can't go," she said. She was taken off guard by his offer. She never saw him offering such benefits to any other employee. Maybe he was just too kind.
"I see, I'm just worried because you look so sad," he said.
"Please, don't worry about me," she assured him as he nodded his head.
A sudden chilly wind swept past her as the hair at the back of her neck stood up. She peeked a glance over her shoulder, but no one in particular caught her eye as she dropped off the feeling.
Jasper sat beside her at the restaurant as they booked the huge table. Everyone was talking, smiling, and discussing while eating their food.
Innessa was smiling, but she kept zoning out. All of a sudden, recalling how Henry came after her, what was Issac even thinking, forcing him to threaten her again? Didn't he care one bit how scared she'd feel?
Innessa picked up her food. Ate a small portion and she was done. Her colleague offered her a drink, but she politely refused.
Jasper was seeing everyone off as he faced Innessa, who thanked him for the food.
"If you don't feel well, you can take tomorrow off, and don't worry, you can clock off early during your exams," he said, smiling down at her as she thanked him, smiling.
He offered to drop her, but she politely refused, saying she needed fresh air on her walk back. They said their goodbyes, and she headed to the dormitory.
She had her hands tucked in her baggy pants pockets as she walked down the street.
Innessa wanted to talk to Faina and her parents, but they'd mention Issac, and she wasn't ready to talk about him. They just found out their daughter was dating, and within a month, she'll tell them about her breakup. That wasn't right-
A hand clasped her mouth, silencing her startled scream as a steel-like arm wrapped around her, and she was dragged into the dark alley.
Her breathing stopped, and her heart jumped to her mouth in horror. The girl began to frantically struggle as tears gathered in her eyes. The person who held her was so tall and strong that he easily carried her further into the dark alley; her feet weren't even touching the ground.
She gasped when that person pushed her against the wall and stood hovering over her.
Her eyes met with cognac brown hues, and despite the familiarity of the person, she couldn't breathe as she gasped for air, rubbing her chest frantically. The fear of being caught and dragged like that terrified her.
Issac noticed her state as he quickly cupped her cheeks, making her face him. His prior anger dissipated as he just wanted to soothe her now.
"It's me, Issac. Deep breaths, Innessa," he guided her as she tried to do what he said, and slowly she was able to breathe as the color returned to her face, but the fear was still evident.
"W... What are you doing?" She asked, removing his hands from her face, and inched back, plastering her back further against the wall.
"What does it look like? I'm confronting my girl because she decided to block me. Why did you delete that post?" His voice was dark and low as he stared at her with those dark eyes.
His huge frame easily hid her, and no one could suspect he had a girl cornered against the wall, and they were a little far from the street. Her screams might not reach them.
Grabbing her chin, he jerked her face up as their eyes locked.
"Answer me?" He demanded.
Her chin quivered, but she maintained her brave facade.
"Because we aren't together anymore," she said, pushing his hand away from her chin as she tried to walk away.
She barely took two steps away, but he seized her arm and slammed her against the wall, causing her breath to stifle as she winced. His jaw ticked, and he loosened his hold a little.
"That's where you're wrong, Innessa. I've been generous and given you space to accept the truth and come around it. Don't take my kindness the wrong way. My patience ended when you blocked me last night," he shoved his fingers in her back pocket, retrieving her phone and making her gasp when his fingers brushed her ass cheek.
Issac shoved the phone at her face as it unlocked, and he searched for his name to unblock himself, but Innessa charged forward, trying to take her phone back. She was about to succeed, but he grabbed both of her wrists and pinned them above her head so high up that her chest arched and she had to stand on her toes.
He easily unblocked his contact and even put a heart emoji in front of his name on her phone.
"Stop this!" She demanded, struggling, and when that didn't work, she tried to kick him, but in a swift move, he pressed his muscular body against her soft one as she stiffened. A soundless gasp left her lips as she stopped breathing, but Isaac was too drowned in the task at hand. When she wriggled, he mindlessly kicked her legs apart and pressed his thigh between her legs, making her go still as a statue. Her eyes were wide as saucers, and her heart rattled so wildly that it felt like it would burst out of her rib cage.
Issac opened her I* and posted that picture back with the caption 'Taken ❤'
"Please, stop," she whispered, but he pressed closer, causing her to chew on her bottom lip, suppressing any sound.
Issac pressed on the link he had sent her, and her phone got connected with his, and now he'll have her live location 24/7. He deleted that link so she wouldn't know anything and put her phone back in her back pocket with ease.
His fingers touched her ass cheek as she jerked forward, only for her intimacy to rub against his thigh, and she froze along with him.
His eyes widened when he realized their position. He was so engrossed in the task that he didn't notice how he was pinning her to the wall.
He swallowed thickly, staring at his thigh pressed between her legs. She was on her toes with her hands pinned above her head. Innessa was biting her lower lip, her face tilted to the side, and her cheeks were a shade of beetroot. Her chest heaved up and down with sparse breathing.
So f*cking beautiful.
He made no move to pull back. He grabbed her chin with his free hand and forced her eyes on him. She was scared, but other than that, he found a fascinating emotion swirling in her innocent eyes. She was aroused.
Issac pressed his thigh further, and her brows creased.
"F*ck," he cussed under his breath, the biting on her lower lip with those creased brows and flushed face as she tried to close her legs but ended up squeezing his thigh was a f*cking treat for him.
"Don't delete that post ever again." He warned as she tried to jerk her face away, but he didn't let go, and ever so slowly, he wrapped his hands around her delicate neck, forcing her to keep her eyes locked with his.
"Y... You can't threaten me. I'll delete it. L... Let go of me, or I'll call the cops on you," Issac let out a throaty chuckle. His chest vibrated, and she could feel the vibration of laughter through his thigh pressed between her legs, making her shiver.
"Go ahead, precious. Call the cops on me. And what can they do? Keep me in jail? Do you think anyone is powerful enough to put Issac Knight behind bars?" He mused, smirking devilishly as her eyes teared up.
"Y... You're no different than Henry. U... Using power to your advantage. I hate such people-ahh," she gasped when he pressed his thigh further so that even her toes weren't touching the ground anymore. Her legs were trembling.
Issac leaned closer, his hot breath caressing her ear, his tongue darted out, licking the shell of her ear, causing her to jolt away, but his firm hold on her throat kept her in place.
"Stop it!" She gritted despite the whimper leaving her, and as soon as she said those words, he latched his mouth on her ear, licking, nibbling, and sucking. The sinful noises had her stomach coiling up with foreign knots as she tried to free her arms, which were turning numb.
"Please," she pleaded, trembling like a leaf as he finally pulled back with a gentle suck on her earlobe.
"I'm worse than Henry, sweetheart," he rasped, voice deep and guttural, causing her to shiver in fear and something else.
Innessa slowly opened her eyes, breathing heavily and staring at his neck; she didn't want to meet his eyes. She was afraid to see the dark look in his eyes.
"I don't mind your hate either. Just stay mine," he husked, kissing her cheek.
"That's toxic," She whispered.
"Hmm. I love it," he moaned, and her eyes widened. He smirked as she met his gaze, and the look of craziness in his eyes had her heart stuttering in her chest.
"Let go of me, Issac," she said curtly despite the position she was in.
"Say it again," he rasped, pressing a gentle kiss on the corner of her mouth.
"Let me go," she repeated.
"Not that, say my name again," his voice a low rumble as she refused to say it.
"Why did you post that picture?" Instead of saying his name, she demanded an answer.
His brow cocked up. "To get your attention, of course, and everyone at the university must know you're mine. So, no guy dares to get close to you if they want to live," He mused, and she tried not to tremble.
"Posting such things won't get my attention. And you've no right to scare men away from me-ah," She gasped when he pressed his thigh further, and she stiffened, feeling something hard poking on her belly.
"Watch your words, Innessa. Just for you, I didn't kill that f*cker, Henry. I was trying to be nice, giving you space, but I'm done playing the nice guy." He rumbled lowly, leaning closer, his nose touching her cheek as his hot breath hit her face.
"Either you accept that you belong to me, or I've my ways to make you understand this," he said darkly as his tongue slid out, licking her jaw up to her cheekbone and licking her tears away as she went stiff and flinched, closing her eyes shut, trying to get away from him, but couldn't.
Her arms felt so numb and cold, and there was no strength left in them.
"Y... You can’t threaten me," she said with mustered-up courage as he let out a low rumbling laughter.
"Ahh," A sudden moan slipped through her lips when he began to grind his thigh between her legs, rubbing against her intimacy. Her innocent eyes opened wide in shock, feeling the foreign friction, his throbbing erection pressed against her belly as he grinds in a hard, sensual rhythm. Her ears heated up in shock and fear of something new and blasphemous. Her throat clogged up as she forgot the basic words of normal life.
"That's right, baby. Moan for me," He growled lowly in that dark tone.
Her eyes closed tightly as she bit on her bottom lip harshly to suppress the sinful voices wanting to escape her lips. She had her head bowed, but he tightened his hold on her neck, forcing her head up as their eyes locked the second, she felt he'd choke her.
"Don't be so mean, Innessa." He growled, jerking her whole body as she trembled.
"Let me," He rasped and crashed his lips on hers in a hot, searing kiss. He tightened his hold on her neck, earning a startled gasp which he swallowed within the kiss, his tongue delving into her mouth as he kissed her savagely.
Staking his claim on her.
He broke the kiss until she was panting and a shivering mess. His smoldering gaze bore holes in her swollen, red lips. Leaning closer, he licked her lips and bit on her bottom lip so hard that she cried out.
He pulled back satisfied. Letting go of her throat, his hand moved down gently, stroking the side of her breast as she jolted.
"P... Please, stop," she said shakily and began to squirm again. Looking at him with those scared baby eyes.
"I'll let you go if you meet me outside your dormitory tomorrow," he said, kissing her cheek.
"F*ck, I missed you so much," He rumbled.
His hand rested on her waist as his thumb stroked the swell of her bosom from below, making her quiver like a leaf as she tried to shrink into herself and just disappear.
She quickly bobbed her head, hoping he'd leave her alone, and just like that, he stepped away from her.
Her trembling legs couldn't carry her weight as she was about to fall, but he grabbed her waist, helping her up. Her arms and legs were numb, and the weird feeling of emptiness had her mind going blank for a nanosecond.
Issac carefully adjusted his pants without being caught by her, and he made her sit in his car. The whole ride was silent as he drove her to the dormitory. She was plastered to the door, hugging her bag to her chest and trying to stop her fingers from trembling. Just when she tried to step out, she found the door was locked.
She hesitantly faced Isaac, whose eyes shot to her bruised lip. He bit her too roughly. His precious little Innessa. He gently stroked the bruise with his thumb as she jerked away from his touch, causing his jaw to tick.
"What was his name? Jasper, right?" Issac asked with a cocked brow and watched how she went rigid.
"What was he talking to you on the street? Does he have a death wish?"
"N... Nothing? H... He was worried because I looked sick. T... That's all," She stammered, terrified by the insane glint in his dark eyes.
"He better stay away from you if he loves his life," Issac said calmly, tapping his fingers on the wheel. The pale look on her face forced him to refrain from saying anything further about it, though he wanted to give that boss of hers a piece of his mind.
"Be here tomorrow, I'll pick you up, and if you defy me, there'll be consequences," he said. He was about to unlock the door, but paused, facing her.
"A goodbye kiss?" He asked, tapping his cheek.
Her eyes widened slightly; her shoulders shrank as she shook her head lightly, afraid to irk him.
He sighed, leaned closer, grabbed the nape of her neck, pulling her closer, kissed her fluffy cheek, and let go as he unlocked the door.
Innessa didn't wait a single second and dashed out of his car with wide panicked eyes, almost stumbling and not looking back even for once.
Looking at her like this, it was obvious she wasn't meant for a man like him, but he didn't give a f*ck about it.
She shouldn't have barged into his life to begin with. It was too late now.
Innessa belonged to him.
And he'll make her his either by hook or by motherf*cking crook.
The soft chirping of birds slowly pulled Serena from sleep. For a few seconds, she remained still beneath the blankets, staring at the ceiling while sleep faded from her body little by little. Sunlight filtered through the curtains in golden streaks, warming the massive bedroom.Quiet.Too quiet. Her brows furrowed slightly as she pushed herself up against the pillows. The other side of the bed was untouched. Thankfully.Serena swallowed and slowly glanced toward the couch; it was empty. Victor was gone.Of course he was.It felt a lot more peaceful in his absence. Because whenever he was near. There was constant pressure, and it felt like she was being watched all the time. Her eyes drifted to the side table, and she paused. The ointment tube sat neatly on the nightstand beside a glass of water. Right where he had left it.Her ankle no longer throbbed painfully. The swelling had reduced significantly overnight. He noticed her pain.Again.Her fingers curled slightly over the blanket.
Get used to it?She glared at his back. Who was he to tell her to get used to things that she didn't want in her life? So cocky of him.And just because he married her, he didn't get the right to impose things on her as if he owned her. And the marriage wasn't a proper marriage to begin with. It was a treaty, a deal. That was it. And she was forced into it, and as much as she knows, he didn't want it in the first place either. She was zoned out, her gaze fixed on his arms as he folded his sleeves. "Seeing something interesting?" He asked, which brought her back to reality. She met his gaze as he jutted his chin towards his veiny arms that looked hot. She realized she was staring at his arms while zoned out."No," she said abruptly, averting her gaze."Liar," he said under his breath, but she heard it.Victor was aware she didn't want to sleep with him on the same bed, though he needed rest, but he had no intention of entertaining her with an argument throughout the night. Walking to t
Her brows furrowed, and she glitched for a second. "Excuse me?" She said curtly."Excused." He said calmly, quietly eating his steak as if nothing had happened. Her lips parted at his audacity, and she glared at him."You're good at what precisely? And what's the provoking part?" She asked, her eyes narrowed and food long forgotten.Victor finally raised his eyes to meet her gaze. You just tasted the meat and made that sound, so you know what I'm good at, and I'm not bothering to answer the other question." He said plainly and began to eat his food again. She glared at him. But the delicious smell of the food didn't let her stay annoyed for long, as she grabbed her knife and fork and began eating the food. It was mind-blowing; she had never had such a tasty steak before. It was so delicious that she finished the whole plate and still eyed more meat.Victor was silently observing her. He didn't say much and ate his food. Once he was done, he waited for her to finish, and as she rested
The sunrays of early morning were a cruel intrusion as they cut through the drapes of Victor's room. She groggily opened her eyes, breathing lightly. She moved a little, her eyes darting to the other side of the bed, which was empty, cold, and untouched. The mere reality that he didn't sleep with her on the same bed brought immense peace to her soul. She couldn't hear a single noise in the whole room except for her breathing. She cautiously tried to sit up and was successful in doing so, but a wince escaped her lips when a sharp pain shot from her ribs to her torso.Inhaling deeply, she got to her feet and ambled into the bathroom. She freshened up, took a warm, relaxing shower, pampered herself, and then wore a bathrobe as she stepped out. There was a knock on the door, and then it slowly opened to reveal two maids."We are here to change your bandages, madame. After that, we'll bring you your breakfast. What would you like to have for breakfast?""Whatever you guys make the best," Se
The morning light did not bring warmth to the Volkov estate; it filtered through the heavy, charcoal curtains of Victor’s master suite in cold, grey shards.Serena lay perfectly still, her eyes fixed on the ornate crown molding of the ceiling. She had glanced around the room, and Victor was nowhere in sight, which brought her a fraction of peace.Every breath was a calculated risk. The bandage around her torso felt like a restrictive serpent, reminding her with every heartbeat that her ribs were held together by little more than gauze and sheer willpower. She was wearing his shirt, the silk was cool and far too large, smelling of the sandalwood and expensive tobacco that defined him. She wasn't okay with the fact that he was the one who changed her clothes. He saw her naked, vulnerable, and covered in bruises. The thought alone made chills run up her spine. This act of his clearly indicated that he has no respect for women at all. And no decency in his bones. Then again, what else co
The silence of the Volkov estate was shattered by the screech of tires against gravel as Alexei brought the armored SUV to a violent halt. Victor didn’t wait for the door to be opened. He lunged out of the vehicle, Serena’s limp body cradled against his chest like a broken porcelain doll. Her head lolled against his shoulder, her skin so pale it was almost translucent under the harsh security lights. Every second she remained unconscious, a cold, unfamiliar dread tightened its grip on Victor’s throat. He didn’t take her to the guest wing. He didn't take her to the room he had assigned her earlier. He bypassed his guards, his boots thundering against the marble stairs, and kicked open the double doors to his own master suite. He laid her down in the center of his massive, charcoal-sheeted bed. She looked tiny there, a splash of white silk and dark hair against the masculine shadows of his world. The doctor, a sharp-eyed woman named Dr. Arisov who had served the Volkov family for decades
