Lucy POV

"Luna Lucy, you're pregnant."

The pack doctor's words sounded so unreal, as though they were spoken from a distant dream.

My chest immediately tightened, my fingers trembling as they curled into the edge of the chair. The stark clinical room suddenly felt suffocating, the air too heavy to breathe.

“Pregnant?” The word rolled off my tongue, foreign and weightless. It couldn’t be real at all. It shouldn’t be real atleast, even though have been waiting for this moment like forever.

“Yes,” the doctor confirmed, her voice calm but firm, as though she had uttered the words a hundred times before.

“You’re pregnant, Luna.”

I blinked at her, searching her expression for any sign that she was joking to me.

A cruel mistake? A misdiagnosis? Surely, it wasn’t true. My heart beat wildly in my chest, hammering against my ribcage like it was trying to escape already.

“Are you sure about that?” My voice wavered, my hands gripping the armrests of the chair tightly.

Without hesitation, the doctor handed me the scan results.

The proof stared back at me in black and white.

It was undeniable at this point. The faint outline of life inside me, a miracle.

I was actually pregnant.

For a moment, the room spun, and I felt as though the world had tilted off its axis.

After good five long, agonizing years of waiting to have a baby of my own.

Five years of shame, whispers, and pitying glances. Five years of wondering if I was broken, if I was unworthy of being a Luna of a pack, of being a mother for the Beta.

Now, at last, I had the answer I had been praying for over the years.

“I... I don’t know what to say,” I whispered, tears pooling in my eyes at this point.

A mixture of joy and disbelief flooded my heart at almost same time.

I gently placed a hand on my stomach, the thought that something so precious was growing within me almost too much to bear.

The doctor’s face softened, her voice taking on a soothing tone.

“It’s still early, but everything looks healthy and good. Congratulations, Luna.”

I nodded absently, my mind racing with anxiety.

What would this mean for me? For my mate? For the whole pack?

The joy was quickly tempered by a creeping unease. Not all pregnancies in the pack were celebrated equally though. Not every mate reacted with happiness to such news. I knew the traditions, the unspoken rules that governed our world. Would he be happy? Would he... care?

The thought sent a chill down my spine.

As I stood to leave, my legs felt shaky, as if the weight of the news had rendered them weak. The doctor gave me some parting instructions, but her voice was drowned out by the storm of emotions raging in my head.

I left the clinic, the scan result clutched tightly in my hand. The cold breeze outside did little to cool the flush on my cheeks. I looked down at the paper again, as if to reassure myself that it was real.

Pregnant. I was pregnant.

I should have been ecstatic. I should have been running to tell him. But instead, doubt and fear gnawed at the edges of my joy.

Five years without a child hadn’t just been a test of patience, it had been a test of our mate bond. A bond that had started with love and devotion but had grown strained with every passing year. His words still echoed in my mind.

“If you can’t give me an heir, what’s the point of all this?”

He had said it in anger, during one of our worst fights, but it had cut deeper than any physical wound on me .

I knew he had resented me for years, though he tried to hide it behind a mask of duty.

Would this change things at this point? Would it bring us closer, or drive us further apart?

I hurried back to the packhouse, my heart pounding with every step I made. The halls felt colder than usual, the weight of the secret I carried pressing heavily on my shoulders.

When I reached my room, I closed the door behind me, leaning against it for support. I stared at the scan result again, my emotions swirling in a chaotic storm.

Finally, I allowed myself to smile, a small, hopeful smile. This was my moment, my miracle. No matter what happened next, no one could take this away from me.

But as I turned to place the scan result on the bedside table, my hand froze mid-air. A scent lingered in the room, faint but unmistakable.

It wasn’t mine.

It wasn’t his, either.

My stomach sank, a cold dread replacing the warmth that had filled me just moments ago

. Slowly, I turned my head, scanning the room for any sign of disturbance. My gaze fell on the bed, and my breath caught in my throat.

A single, unfamiliar item lay on the sheets.

A scarf.

It was delicate, feminine, and reeked of a scent I didn’t recognize.

The scan result slipped from my fingers, fluttering to the ground like a dying leaf.

My heart clenched, my mind racing to make sense of what I was seeing. The implications were clear, but I refused to believe them.

No. It couldn’t be. Not now. Not when everything was finally falling into place.

I looked around the whole apartment while trying to get something to understand, what I never wanted to do was to reveal that I was pregnant already.

At this point, I hated myself.

But deep down, I knew.

Something was wrong.

Something was very wrong.

Lucy – POVThe night after confronting Ash, I didn't sleep. I couldn't just put things together.I sat by the open window of the little room, watching the moon cut across the sky, silver and distant. My hand rested gently on my stomach, the hope of fulfilling those words I told Andy, playing in my head. This child—my child—wasn't just a hope but my life. It would be a new beginning for me.And beginnings demanded bold steps.Which was why, just before dawn, I sent for Daniel. He arrived without a word, his expression unreadable as always. He stood in the doorway, arms crossed, dark eyes watching me closely."You're up early," he said quietly.I didn’t waste time. “I want to build my own faction. My own force. I’m not asking for your blessing or your go ahead. I’m asking if you're with me.”He blinked, then laughed once—dry, surprised. “That’s not what I was expecting though.”“Good,” I said, standing tall and firm. “I’m done being predictable.”He studied me for a long moment. “You’re

Lucy – POVThe wind tore through the clearing as I stepped into Ash’s territory—uninvited, unannounced, and completely unafraid.I’d had enough.Of the whispers.Of the pity.Of the poison she fed into the pack while smiling like a queen when she wasn't one.Ash thought I’d be broken after Andy discarded me and picked her. She thought I’d curl into nothing, vanish like smoke and dry up like the water poured to the ground. But instead, I’d burned. And now I was walking straight into her den with fire in my chest and nothing left to lose this time. She stood at the center of the training field, surrounded by her loyal pack sisters. Dressed in sleek black leathers, she looked like a warrior—deadly, composed, untouchable, evil. But her eyes flared the moment she saw me.Something within her screamed at my presence.“Well, look who the wind dragged in,” she called out, loud enough for everyone to hear. “I thought you'd disappeared for good, Lucy. Come to beg for your place back?”The girls

Lucy – POV"That's breaking the bro code," Daniel said, his voice low and laced with tension. "And besides… you're not even fully divorced."His words hit me harder than I expected. I clenched my jaw, trying not to show how deep they cut. But I couldn’t stop myself—I looked him straight in the eyes.Daniel.The man who’d stood by me more times than I could count. The one whose love was always visible, even when he tried to pretend otherwise. The one who looked at me like I was more than just my past, more than my title, more than the woman another man had thrown away. And yet here he was—resisting. Fighting not to fall into step with the path I needed him to walk.“Daniel,” I said slowly, deliberately, “I need to get pregnant. As soon as possible.”His body stiffened. For a second, he didn’t move. Then he took a step toward me, the air between us charged, heavy. Our breaths mingled—his warmth brushing against my lips. It would’ve been so easy to close the distance. But he exhaled and

Lucy – POVI couldn’t stop thinking about this pack—the way it looked, the memories it held. Every corner felt like it carried a piece of my past, haunting me.“Where are you going?” Daniel’s voice cut through my thoughts.I met his eyes, my mind spinning.I had already made my decision before today. I was going to see my ex-husband. Maybe to make him pay for everything he did to me.Or maybe…Maybe I’d make him beg for death—and deny him the mercy.“To my old home,” I said quietly. Before I could take another step, his hand wrapped around my wrist, holding me back.“What exactly are you planning to do?” he asked, his voice low but firm.I didn’t hesitate. I knew what I wanted. I wasn’t a child anymore—I could make my own choices. I had laid the groundwork for this moment, for my future.I pulled my wrist from his grasp and looked him in the eye.“You don’t get to control me, Daniel. I know what I’m doing.”I stepped away, brushing past him.“You better,” he said behind me. “Or you’ll

Daniel POVI stood with my arms crossed, eyeing Lucy with a mixture of skepticism and amusement. She was eager, I'd give her that. But eagerness didn't always translate to readiness from my own basic theory."Can we at least start the training already?" Lucy asked, her voice laced with a hint of impatience.I gave her the look. The look that said, "You're not ready." It was a look I'd perfected over the years, one that could convey a thousand words without saying a single one.Lucy immediately understood the look. Her eyes dropped, and her shoulders slumped ever so slightly. Within minutes, her entire character had changed. The confident, Luna I'd once known was replaced by a hesitant, uncertain individual, who was very eager to play her revenge as soon as possible."Daniel..." she trailed off, her voice barely above a whisper.I raised an eyebrow, my expression still same "I know you're once the great Luna of this pack, but that doesn't mean anything in this situation," I said, my to

Strong. Dangerous. Power radiated from him.Alpha Daniel. His voice was ice like that of the night water. “You’ve entered my land, rogue.”I swallowed hard as the words escaped my mouth. “I— I’m not a rogue.”He tilted his head. “Then why do you smell like one?”I glanced around. And this time I could feel there eyes on my self.Mira sat beside me, her face bruised and pale, but her spirit unbroken. It leads outside, but… it’s risky.”A loud clang made me jump. The cell door swung open. Ethan stepped inside of the cell, with a Stern and serious look. His face was blank, his posture stiff. He shut the door behind him, stepping closer.“You need to be ready,” he muttered lowly, as he took few slow steps.Mira tensed at those words. “Ready for what exactly...huh?”Ethan’s eyes flickered with something unreadable. “Ash is moving you all soon.
