Daniel POV

The moment Wendy walked in and Vanessa left, the atmosphere changed. Wendy's smile faltered, and her golden eyes narrowed.

She was dressed too well. Perhaps overdressed even. Her hair rested on her shoulders in waves, brunette in color. and her makeup was flawless.

She was also putting on a designer gown. This was all too much for just a visit to my penthouse.

What’s the catch? Wendy Hawthorne was certainly a handful.

The mask she wore wasn’t enough to conceal the slight trembling of her fingers, or the way her eyes roamed about, like she was searching for something,— power, affirmation, control.

“Daniel, sweetheart.” She said softly, trying to sound gentle.

“I needed to see you. I still want us, and the life we promised each other.” I sighed in exhaustion. I wasn’t ready for all this.

“What are you really doing here Wendy? Tell me the truth.” She flashed me her catchy grin, the one she'd used on red carpets, with directors, and on me.

"I just got out of rehab," she

  • Taming Mr Billionaire    Chapter 107- The Weight Of Her Silence

Edward POVThe echo of the door slamming shut still rang in my ears.I stood there, frozen in place, the living room drenched in a suffocating silence that felt far louder than any scream. Vanessa was gone—again. And this time, I wasn’t sure if she’d come back.My hands dropped to my sides, fists clenching until my knuckles turned white. I could still hear Jules’s voice, cold and precise: “She’ll never be a Silver. And Alessa’s child will be the true heir.”It had taken everything in me not to scream. Not to break something. Not to fall to my knees.Instead, I’d stood there and watched the woman I loved, the woman I’d fought so hard to win back, run from me in tears. I was the villain again, whether I meant to be or not.And damn it, this time, I couldn’t even blame her.I ran a hand through my hair and dropped onto the edge of the couch, elbows on my knees. Alessa had left with Jules, but they promised to be back later. She hadn’t said much before she left, just a smug smile, as if s

  • Taming Mr Billionaire    Chapter 106: Broken

Vanessa POVI sat behind the wheel, my hands trembling, heart pounding, and my vision blurred by tears. I told Daniel I was going somewhere safe and I would be fine. But I think I lied about the last part. The streets appeared foggy as I drove past it blindly in New York. My emotions with feelings of rage, a storm of betrayal, confusion, and heartbreak. Just when I was about to swerve into another lane, a mini Corolla emerged, startling me as I balanced myself. Shit. I almost crashed my car.I pulled over, my breath intense with sobs gushing from my eyes. I couldn’t go home. Not now.I took a drive to the only place i could think of: Bella’s.When I got to her house, she opened the door dressed in casual clothes, surprised. Her smile faded the moment she saw me. Red eyes and tear-streaked face. I collapsed into her arms.I sighted Liam, rushing down the stairs, his smile fading when saw me. “Mommy? What’s wrong?”I forced myself to kneel and hug him. “I’m okay, baby. Just… tired.”B

  • Taming Mr Billionaire    Chapter 105: Mistakes And Mothers

Edward’s POV“Alessa,” I exhaled,my voice barely more than a whisper as my gaze locked on the woman standing in the living room of the mansion. She looked exactly as I remembered. Elegant, poised, but now her stomach curved unmistakably outward, the kind of pregnancy you couldn’t hide. Maybe five months along. My chest clenched. My mind spun with the impossible.No. It was possible. Because I had made a mistake.Vanessa stood frozen beside Daniel, her face pale, eyes wide with confusion and heartbreak. My mother stood tall between them, her chin lifted, victorious like some general in the final act of a long and calculated war. The air was thick with something venomous.Jules broke the silence first, with a cold smile. “There she is. I believe you remember Alessa, don’t you, Edward?”I turned to Vanessa immediately. “Nessa, I didn’t know—I swear, I didn’t know she was pregnant. I haven’t seen her since—”“Don’t,” Vanessa whispered. Her voice shook. “Don’t call me that.”“Please.” I r

  • Taming Mr Billionaire    Chapter 104: Uninvited Guests Pt.2

Daniel POVEverything in the room was spinning, in the most cruel, disorienting way.If I didn’t insist on coming back here with Vanessa, she would have walked into the whole mess alone.Edward, that bastard. His voice echoed in the silence. “Alessa?”Her name rolled off his lips like a storm in the room, silencing whatever breath was left in Vanessa. I turned to her, a feeling of pity growing in me. We didn’t need to ask who she was. I knew. Vanessa already knew. I sensed it was only a matter of time before Edward hurt Vanessa again, but I didn’t expect it to be this bad. From the moment the woman walked into the mansion, tall, gorgeous. Vanessa had laced her hand with mine.‘Alessa’. I heard Vanessa whisper under her breath. I can’t imagine how she must feel at this moment.I stiffened beside Vanessa, like I too had been punched. Edward didn’t move. He just stared at Alessa as if she’d walked out of a nightmare he’d buried and set on fire years ago.And Jules? That witch. She stoo

  • Taming Mr Billionaire    Chapter 103: Uninvited Guests

Vanessa’s POVI couldn’t believe it. She was here, like my worst nightmare. Why would she choose to show up now? Everything was already starting to get better. Now it all felt worse. The edges of my vision blurred as I stepped into the grand foyer, i felt the air thick with tension. The first thing I saw was Edward’s clenched fists. And his mother, Jules Silver. Both were locked in a fervent argument just beyond the double doors. Daniel trailed behind me, expression unreadable but his fingers subconsciously brushing mine.I knew Daniel wouldn’t leave me, especially not now. There was no point telling him to go.“What’s going on here?” I asked walking further in. Edward turned at the sound of my voice, his expression going from thunderclouds to something softer, concern. Then back to fire.My eyes landed on Jules as she stood rigid, a queen dressed in an ivory suit that screamed wealth and control, sharp cheekbones, steely gaze, unapologetically cold. Upon seeing me, her lip curled.

  • Taming Mr Billionaire    Chapter 102: The Fabric Of Us Pt. 2

7pm at Arno’sVanessa POVMy mind was conflicted. Stay home and wait for Edward, or meet with Daniel and hear him out. What would it change? How would this affect us moving forward?I choose to meet with Daniel. All this time, I avoided him. Not because I didn’t want to see him, but because I didn’t want to face us, whatever feelings we had left between us.The restaurant was warm and dimly lit, a small Italian spot with candles flickering on every table. I could smell lots of pastries. Cookies, freshly baked bread, creamy cupcakes and lots of other dishes. Daniel looked good. Too good, considering the emotional storm still brewing in my chest. His shirt was open at the collar, his sleeves rolled to the elbows, his hair tousled just enough to look unintentional.“You look gorgeous and… happy,” he said quietly, once we’d ordered.I was dressed in a creamy silk skirt and a baby pink top, with multiple accessories and layered jewelry to go with it.“Thank you.” I replied, then added. “Ye
