Chapter 18: No Way OutRegina’s P.O.VI was jerked back into consciousness by the sound of a bullet reverberating inside my head.I blinked my eyes several times to get rid of the last vestiges of sleep. They felt gritty and I could barely keep them open before they kept closing once again. My lids were heavy and I wanted to get out of here so badly, but I couldn’t because my hand was still cuffed to the bed and the skin on my wrist was now a dark red from me struggling to break free.Draco had left me here yesterday and since then, no one had offered me any food or water. At this point, I didn’t even care about hunger anymore, but my throat was dry and it was starting to feel like someone had shoved sand down my esophagus. And after struggling in vain the entire day, trying to find the keys to the cuffs or anything that could help me get rid of them…I had given up hope. Now, as the shadows moved through the curtains and day slowly turned to evening…I was beginning to lose hope of get
Chapter 19: Way Back HomeDraco’s P.O.VThe constant beeping of a monitor right next to my ears made me groan in irritation. And then realization began to set in.I felt around my environment with my senses, making sure to keep my eyes closed. When I couldn’t immediately determine anything out of place in the room, no sudden movements or noises…I decided to open my eyes…only to come face to face with pale green orbs staring at me with utmost curiosity. Before I knew who the other person was, my hand was wrapped around their neck, fingers digging into the soft, vulnerable skin with ruthless precision as they gasped in horror and tried to use their hands to get me to release them.“Who are you?” I asked the girl who looked barely past her teenage years. Her pale eyes were wide as both her arms wrapped around my wrist, struggling to get it off her throat. She was pretty, beautiful even, with golden hair that hung around her little heart shaped face in loose curls and eyes that were now w
Chapter 20: Rico and Paris 4Rico’s P.O.VThe woman with dark caramel skin and wild curls gave me a tight lipped smile from across the table. The cup of tea that she brought to her lips slowly shook a little, even though she tried her best to suppress it as she gripped the handle tightly.I knew what she was thinking. I knew that she was probably waiting for me to either open fire to take over the brothel by force or tell her that her precious Sorella was dead and that the body had been disposed off. But instead…“She’s alive.”The cup fell from her hands to shatter into a hundred pieces as it hit the tiled floor, while she slouched back on to the sofa, looking both physically and mentally exhausted. And it wasn’t just her.Looking behind her, I could see several other people, including several men who were supposed to be bodyguards, breathe their sigh of relief at my words…even though they were the vaguest of placements I had used. Being alive didn’t really mean anything. Sometimes,
Chapter 21: PrisonerRegina’s P.O.VThe first thing I felt as I came back to consciousness was the heavy weight of something on my waist.Even though I felt too weak to open my eyes, I knew that I was no longer cuffed to bedpost since the strain on my wrist was now gone. I could also feel the weight of something on my middle and I was definitely no longer lying half on the floor in my many attempts to try and escape.Opening my eyes, I had to blink several times to adjust to the bright sunlight pouring in through the open curtains before I could see anything around me. And what do you know…the Capo dei Capi was back.Frowning, I turned to face Draco, trying not to wake him up as I moved my head to the side to look at him. He looked different somehow and it was before I even noticed the sling that was attached to his left arm. My frown deepened when I noticed that he kinda smelled like that distinct smell that you could only find in a hospital. Did he get hurt? And why did the thought
Chapter 22: The First VisitDraco’s P.O.VRegina gave me a murderous glare as she came out of the bathroom wearing the red turtleneck shirt and black jeans that I had prepared for her. The collar had ruffles in them, as did the sleeves and it was completely in contrast to the sexy-girl image that she was used to. But I wasn’t letting her get away with being seductive in my house. That was for my eyes only.“Now, now.” I walked closer to her, feeling my lips twitch as she crossed her arms across her chest, but refused to back down. “Don’t frown so much, or you’ll get wrinkles.”Lifting my uninjured hand, I pressed my index finger to the centre of her forehead and tapped lightly. “You don’t want the little kid finding out about the hot night you spent with me.”“What hot night!” She grumbled, gritting her teeth together. “You left marks all over me, you prehistoric Neanderthal!”“Oh?” I smirked, leaning down to whisper in her ear. “That’s because I kept hearing someone say ‘harder’ over
Chapter 23: Rico and Paris 5Rico’s P.O.VI parked the car next to the bank of the Hudson River, the Mid-Hudson Bridge in full sight as I cut off the engine and turned to look at Paris at the passenger’s seat. “Let’s go for a walk, shall we?”Paris nodded and I noticed him being unusually quiet as he unbuckled his seatbelt and got off the car to wait for me at the railing overlooking the river as I got out myself and locked the car.The evening was a bit chilly and I saw that Paris was only wearing a blue and white checkered shirt with dark blue denims. Taking off my coat, I placed it over his shoulders when I saw him rubbing his arms as the cold wind blew his hair back from his face.“Thank you.” Paris looks over his shoulders at me, a little startled at first. “Why did you bring me here?”“I thought a change of scenery would help clear your mind.&
Sorry guys, I try to keep on writing but my mental health keeps failing me. I was fine one till yesterday but waking up this morning suddenly felt incredibly difficult. I know that if I keep writing at this moment, my writing will only get worse and I won't be able to deliver what I want to. I don't know what's wrong with me to be honest. For the last few months I've been getting worse, especially after I got covid and I know that mental health issues have been a side effect of omicron but I didn't understand how bad the situation has gotten till now. From now on, I'm going on a haitus for about two months and when I return, hopefully it'll be with the whole story for you guys to read. I really, truly do apologize for the inconvinience and especially for those of you who were following this story. I want to give you guys better results and I hope that when I come back, it'll be for the best. Inviting your understanding. Sincerely, Anna.
Chapter 24: Un-Friendly BanterRegina’s P.O.V“You.” I narrowed my eyes at the red haired man named Joel, who stood in front of me like a statue, without saying a single word. “Take me to the kitchen. I’m famished!”Joel simply turned and started walking.I blinked several times, trying to process the situation. “Well…that was easier than I thought.”I ran behind the tall man, taking longer strides to keep up with him as he led me down the spiral staircase once again before taking a right turn to a different hallway and before I knew it, I was standing in the middle of a huge modern kitchen with all the latest gadgets that I could possibly imagine, laid out in front of me.Joel went to the side counter that was made of polished black marble and took a seat at one of the high chairs, making me frown once again.“Why are you sitting there?
