Ralph POV
Connell dashed out of the room in the blink of an eye. I looked towards my Father, and he was fuming with anger. Most of his anger was directed at me. Probably because I still remained in the house and did not run just like Connell did.I scratched the back of my neck and slowly stood up. Lovette looked like she wanted to be anywhere but here at that moment.“Oops, we are done for. What are you still doing in there?” Connell mind linked me. I tried to shut him out. I didn’t want to hear any more pestering from him.“And what are you still doing here?” My Father demanded.Lovette was giving me the stink eye urging me to go out with her hands facing the direction of the door.“I’ll be on my way”, I mumbled.I’m not sure Lovette heard, but I’m certain my Father heard what I said loud and clearly.“In case you didn’t know, I’m here to tell you that we have rogues roaming around, and their scents have been perceived at the Shadow’s pack.”“Every single soul must be present at the meeting whether you like it or not”“I know”, I blurted out.I looked at what I was putting on. It was a black hoodie with sweatpants. It wasn’t necessary for me to change, so I left the house that way.I don’t enjoy going to the pack house. It’s going to be filled with a lot of pack members. It was like an extended family kind of thing; well, to be fair, we were a family. Some of them always have this judgemental look on their face, and they always expect much from you.I jogged all through the woods. I could feel my whole body working; my leg muscles were running warm, fresh air entered my lungs, and blood flowed into all my limbs. It was refreshing. Soon, I was in front of the pack house. The pack house was huge and was located far away from the neighbouring houses. It was like a mini estate on its own. It even has a pack clinic and an orphanage home.I groaned and stepped into the house. There were like five flats in the house. I walked down the hall and entered the room where important meetings take place.I opened the door and was greeted by low mutterings in the room. The meeting was yet to begin. I glanced around the room; Alpha Finn, the pack’s leader, was nowhere in sight. Only Males were present, and females were not usually invited to meetings like this.I spotted Connell and Lowell from across the room. They were discussing with some of the pack members.Connell saw me and smirked.“Look who decided to show up?” He said through mind-link“Can you just stop invading my thought with yours” I scowled at him.I contemplated taking my seat. I didn’t want any of those elders to question me or start any conversation with me.I spotted an empty chair and decided to make use of it. I put on my earphones and listened to music. I was already feeling the beat of the song when I noticed the presence of someone close to me. It was one of the warriors of the pack. I mentally tried to remember his name, but it didn’t just click.Oh please, don’t even try to make a conversation. Sit down quietly and act like I don’t exist.“How is college life, young buddy?”Pardon? I’m not your buddy, old man!“The usual”, I replied flatly. He stifled a laugh. “I know how that feels, been there done that”“But then again, it was a beautiful experience. I found my mate while I was in college. It was the best thing that ever happened to me….”Yeah, right, nobody cares.I don’t careI pressed my lips together, nodding my head, pretending to take in all he was saying. I zoned out at some point. Can they commence this meeting already and get it done?“What about you? Have you found your mate, or are you yet to find her? Here we go again, people not minding their business, I don’t plan on answering that question, and at the same time, I don’t want to seem rude to him.“I…” I started to say but was cut short by a voice booming with authority.I heaved a sigh of relief, saved by the Alpha.“Settle down, you all; we need to address this issue at hand”, Alpha Finn ordered. We all bowed our heads slightly to show our honour and sat down. Alpha Derek was also in attendance; he sat next to Alpha Finn.“Now, let’s go straight to the point.”“We heard about the incident that happened at your park yesterday, can you please tell us how it happened” Alpha Finn directed the question to Alpha Derek.“We came across five Rogues yesterday; we killed three, but two got away”, Alpha Derek stated.“I believe they are coming back soon, and with many of them,” He continued.“They won’t back down easily”, His Beta, Beta Chase, added.“Were you able to identify them or know the packs they originated from?” Beta Mike, the second in command to Alpha Finn, asked.“Not exactly, but it seems that different rogues from different packs have come together to form their own mini-pack.”“They must be on a mission to rebel against packs and attack them since it’s very rare for them to travel in a group; they are usually found alone,” My Father said.“And we must not let that happen, their dangerous plan has to backfire on them”“Alpha, everyone is armed and on full alert.”One of the warriors said.He was the one that came to have a little talk with me earlier.“Okay, good. I don’t want any rogue to escape; they must not go scot-free. We can’t risk the chance of them breaking into our territory and hurting innocent souls,” Alpha Finn said.I took a quick look at the rest of the members, and they all looked worried about it.Another perk of being a werewolf that I dislike, you have to be alert at every single thing. Humans sure are lucky.“Still, we should keep on training to avoid unforeseen circumstances”, one of the warriors suggested.“We will have to assign training leaders to the young werewolves,” Alpha Finn said.He proceeded to assign roles to certain people and divided them into groups.“Ralph” All of a sudden, I heard him call out my nameI scrunch my eyebrows in confusionI hope he isn’t expecting me to do anything“You will be the one to lead the training of group 3”, he instructed.Oh noThis can’t be happeningWhat??My mouth gaped open in surprise.Lovette’s POVI had noticed that Gabriel was always around Celeste. At first, I brushed it off, thinking that he was just being friendly. But as the days went by, I couldn't shake off the feeling that there was something more to it.So, I decided to ask him about it."Hey, Gabriel," I said, leaning over to him. "I've noticed that you're always around Celeste. Is there something going on between you two?"Gabriel didn't give me a direct answer. He just smiled and said, "Why do you ask?"I felt a pang of frustration. I had hoped for a straight answer. But before I could say anything, Ralph came up to me and took me away."Lovette, my love," he said, hugging me. "I've missed you. What were you and Gabriel talking about?"I hesitated for a moment but then decided to tell Ralph what was on my mind. "I was just asking Gabriel about Celeste. He's always around her, and I can't help but wonder if there's something going on between them."“I see. But don't worry about it, babe. I'm sure there'
Gabriel’s POVI was a mess. I couldn't bear to see Celeste like this. I paced back and forth in front of her room, my heart beating frantically in my chest. I couldn't focus on anything else, couldn't think of anything else. Every minute that passed felt like an eternity.Nyx had taken her inside the room to perform some healing on her. And I was waiting patiently for the outcome.Every time I passed by the door, I peeked inside, hoping to see some sign of improvement. But each time, it was the same. Celeste lying there, unmoving, while Nyx attended to her.All I could do was wait and pray. Finally, after what felt like hours, the door opened and Nyx emerged from the room, I practically ran towards her. "How is she? Is she going to be okay?" I asked, my voice shaking with fear and desperation.Nyx looked up at me, and her expression was blank. For a moment, I couldn't read her face, and then she spoke, her voice devoid of emotion. "I'm sorry, Gabriel. Celeste didn't make it. She's gon
Lovette’s POVI stumbled backward as Vera lunged at me, her eyes filled with a terrifying hunger. I knew I was no match for her, but I couldn't give up without a fight.I tried to dodge her attacks, but she was too fast, too strong. She grabbed hold of my shirt, and I felt her claws digging into my skin.Where the hell was Gabriel when I needed him?Just when I thought that all hope was lost and I was about to face certain doom, Nyx appeared out of nowhere, her body beginning to contort and shift into a wolf.Vera growled out loud, recognizing Nyx to be her sister. For a moment, I thought Vera was going to back down and give up fighting. But I thought wrongVera was also transforming, her body twisting and convulsing until she too had taken on the shape of a massive wolf. The two of them began to circle each other, growling and snarling in a display of primal aggression. Even though I knew they were once sisters, it was clear that they were now enemies, locked in a deadly struggle th
Gabriel’s POVI stood at the edge of the clearing, watching my pack as they played and hunted. They moved with grace and precision that spoke to their strength and skill. I could feel the pride swell within me, and I knew that it was a feeling that was shared by the rest of the pack. We were a family, and we were growing stronger and healthier every day.Being an alpha wasn't easy, but it was a responsibility that I took seriously. As I turned to leave, I saw Neo approaching me with a frown on his face. As he walked closer, his frown deepened, and I knew something was bothering him. Neo was always talking about his girlfriend, Nyx. He would tell anyone who would listen about how amazing she was and how lucky he felt to have her in his life. But as time went on, it became clear that Neo wasn't just in love with Nyx – he was lovesick for her.Every time Nyx wasn't around, Neo's mood would darken. He would become quiet and withdrawn, lost in his thoughts. He would spend hours staring of
Lovette’s POVI couldn't believe how quickly the school year had gone by. I had been leading the class, acing every test, and putting in countless hours of studying. But all of that hard work was overshadowed by the fear that had gripped our school. It had started innocently enough. A few students were absent on the first day of school, but we all assumed they were just late enrollees. But as the weeks went on, more and more students went missing. It was as if they had vanished into thin air.At first, I tried not to think too much about it. I had my studies to focus on, after all. But the fear and paranoia that was spreading throughout the school were palpable. I could see it in the eyes of my classmates, in the way they moved through the halls, constantly looking over their shoulders.I tried to rationalize it, to come up with some sort of explanation. Maybe they had all transferred to another school, or maybe they had run away from home. But deep down, I knew something was seriousl
Lovette’s POVThat evening, I spent some time with Connor and Tasha. We all sat in the backyard, under the stars, with music playing softly in the background. It was bittersweet, knowing that I was leaving the next day, but also grateful for the time we had together.Connor had prepared my favorite meal, and we all shared stories and laughed together. I knew that I would miss them dearly. As we settled into the comfortable chairs in the backyard, the warm breeze and soft music creating a peaceful atmosphere, Connor asked me how I felt about resuming senior year in high school.I took a deep breath and hesitated for a moment, not entirely sure how to express the mix of emotions I felt about returning to school. "Honestly, it's a bit overwhelming to think about. I mean, I'm excited to see my friends again and finish what I started, but at the same time, I'm nervous about the workload and the pressure of college applications."Connor nodded thoughtfully, his eyes showing understanding. "
