Ralph POV
Connell dashed out of the room in the blink of an eye. I looked towards my Father, and he was fuming with anger. Most of his anger was directed at me. Probably because I still remained in the house and did not run just like Connell did.I scratched the back of my neck and slowly stood up. Lovette looked like she wanted to be anywhere but here at that moment.“Oops, we are done for. What are you still doing in there?” Connell mind linked me. I tried to shut him out. I didn’t want to hear any more pestering from him.“And what are you still doing here?” My Father demanded.Lovette was giving me the stink eye urging me to go out with her hands facing the direction of the door.“I’ll be on my way”, I mumbled.I’m not sure Lovette heard, but I’m certain my Father heard what I said loud and clearly.“In case you didn’t know, I’m here to tell you that we have rogues roaming around, and their scents have been perceived at the Shadow’s pack.”“Every single soul must be present at the meeting whether you like it or not”“I know”, I blurted out.I looked at what I was putting on. It was a black hoodie with sweatpants. It wasn’t necessary for me to change, so I left the house that way.I don’t enjoy going to the pack house. It’s going to be filled with a lot of pack members. It was like an extended family kind of thing; well, to be fair, we were a family. Some of them always have this judgemental look on their face, and they always expect much from you.I jogged all through the woods. I could feel my whole body working; my leg muscles were running warm, fresh air entered my lungs, and blood flowed into all my limbs. It was refreshing. Soon, I was in front of the pack house. The pack house was huge and was located far away from the neighbouring houses. It was like a mini estate on its own. It even has a pack clinic and an orphanage home.I groaned and stepped into the house. There were like five flats in the house. I walked down the hall and entered the room where important meetings take place.I opened the door and was greeted by low mutterings in the room. The meeting was yet to begin. I glanced around the room; Alpha Finn, the pack’s leader, was nowhere in sight. Only Males were present, and females were not usually invited to meetings like this.I spotted Connell and Lowell from across the room. They were discussing with some of the pack members.Connell saw me and smirked.“Look who decided to show up?” He said through mind-link“Can you just stop invading my thought with yours” I scowled at him.I contemplated taking my seat. I didn’t want any of those elders to question me or start any conversation with me.I spotted an empty chair and decided to make use of it. I put on my earphones and listened to music. I was already feeling the beat of the song when I noticed the presence of someone close to me. It was one of the warriors of the pack. I mentally tried to remember his name, but it didn’t just click.Oh please, don’t even try to make a conversation. Sit down quietly and act like I don’t exist.“How is college life, young buddy?”Pardon? I’m not your buddy, old man!“The usual”, I replied flatly. He stifled a laugh. “I know how that feels, been there done that”“But then again, it was a beautiful experience. I found my mate while I was in college. It was the best thing that ever happened to me….”Yeah, right, nobody cares.I don’t careI pressed my lips together, nodding my head, pretending to take in all he was saying. I zoned out at some point. Can they commence this meeting already and get it done?“What about you? Have you found your mate, or are you yet to find her? Here we go again, people not minding their business, I don’t plan on answering that question, and at the same time, I don’t want to seem rude to him.“I…” I started to say but was cut short by a voice booming with authority.I heaved a sigh of relief, saved by the Alpha.“Settle down, you all; we need to address this issue at hand”, Alpha Finn ordered. We all bowed our heads slightly to show our honour and sat down. Alpha Derek was also in attendance; he sat next to Alpha Finn.“Now, let’s go straight to the point.”“We heard about the incident that happened at your park yesterday, can you please tell us how it happened” Alpha Finn directed the question to Alpha Derek.“We came across five Rogues yesterday; we killed three, but two got away”, Alpha Derek stated.“I believe they are coming back soon, and with many of them,” He continued.“They won’t back down easily”, His Beta, Beta Chase, added.“Were you able to identify them or know the packs they originated from?” Beta Mike, the second in command to Alpha Finn, asked.“Not exactly, but it seems that different rogues from different packs have come together to form their own mini-pack.”“They must be on a mission to rebel against packs and attack them since it’s very rare for them to travel in a group; they are usually found alone,” My Father said.“And we must not let that happen, their dangerous plan has to backfire on them”“Alpha, everyone is armed and on full alert.”One of the warriors said.He was the one that came to have a little talk with me earlier.“Okay, good. I don’t want any rogue to escape; they must not go scot-free. We can’t risk the chance of them breaking into our territory and hurting innocent souls,” Alpha Finn said.I took a quick look at the rest of the members, and they all looked worried about it.Another perk of being a werewolf that I dislike, you have to be alert at every single thing. Humans sure are lucky.“Still, we should keep on training to avoid unforeseen circumstances”, one of the warriors suggested.“We will have to assign training leaders to the young werewolves,” Alpha Finn said.He proceeded to assign roles to certain people and divided them into groups.“Ralph” All of a sudden, I heard him call out my nameI scrunch my eyebrows in confusionI hope he isn’t expecting me to do anything“You will be the one to lead the training of group 3”, he instructed.Oh noThis can’t be happeningWhat??My mouth gaped open in surprise.Ralph POVI had no choice but to obey Alpha Finn because no matter how hesitant I could be, my wolf always obeyed the Alpha's command and was dominant over me. No one dares to disobey the Alpha. We were instructed to commence the wolf training immediately; currently, we were on the north side of the woods. Lowell was assigned to my group, while Connor was assigned to group 3. ArrghThis is torture to me.I'm doing this against my will."Today we are going to be doing a few rounds of fighting, our focus will also be to find out what each of you struggle with" I was addressing the wolves that have been assigned to my group."I'm going to pair you up, and we will proceed from there", I continued. They all looked at me with determination and eagerness. They seemed ready to learn.I called out two people from my group to the side and signalled for them to fight. They shifted into wolf forms, and I watched them intently as they fought. When one of them surrendered, I told them their mistak
Lovette POVThe morning sun streams through the window, gently rousing me from my sleep. I remained motionless as I became aware of the sound of birds chirping outside. I got out of bed and stood in the middle of the room, rubbing the last traces of sleep out of my eyes. I took a deep breath in the morning, feeling the energy of the day ahead of me. I walked over to the sink and splashed cool water on my face, waking up the last remnants of sleepiness.I made my way out of the bathroom, noticing that the morning sun had already started to warm up the day. The aroma of breakfast cooking in the kitchen lured me out of bed. I made my way down the stairs, eager to start the day, and was greeted by the aroma of freshly made pancakes. I sat down at the table, eager to sample the food that had been prepared. I began to eat, feeling the warmth of the pancakes and the flavours of butter, syrup, and sugar in each bite. The house was unexpectedly quiet. I was the only one at the table. Susan
Ralph POVIt became windy, and I was covered in dirt, and my clothes were dishevelled. I wiped the dirt off my clothes and looked up at Lovette. She was standing on the other side of the garden. Her long brunette hair blew in the wind. She had finished making the call, but I could tell that something was bothering her. She was standing still, staring off into the distance, her expression tense and worried. As I watched her, I began to think about what could have caused this reaction."What's wrong?" I asked, approaching her. "Did something happen on the call?"I could see the worry etched on Lovette's face as she stood motionless, staring off into the distance. I followed her gaze and saw nothing but the flowers in the garden and fields. The huge wind had whipped up a frenzy of dust and debris, making it nearly impossible to see more than a few feet in front of us."What's wrong?" I asked again, trying to wipe the dirt from my face and clothes. "Did you see something out there?"Love
Lovette POVI dashed into the house, leaving Ralph behind. I couldn’t believe what had just happened as tears streamed down my cheeks. I had been so caught up in the moment with Ralph I hadn’t even noticed Connor passing by.Now, I felt embarrassed and foolish, and all I wanted to do was hide away in my room.I shut the door and collapsed onto my bed, burying my face in my pillow. I couldn’t believe how stupid I’d been to let my emotions get the best of me. I had always prided myself on being calm and rational.Yeah, I know I had a little crush on him, but I wasn’t expecting things to move so fast. This is what happens when you don’t think before you act.I sighed as I remembered the image of Connor grinning like a fool, it was suspicious, to say the least, and I couldn’t help but wonder if it was just an act to cover up his true feelings.Who knew what was going on in his head?Regardless, I knew that he would never let me live it down. He was going to tease me about it for the rest
Ralph POVLovette stood still at the door, and her eyes fixed on the ground as she struggled to find the perfect words to say after responding to my greeting. I came here to talk about what had happened, but it looked like she was uncomfortable and was not in the mood to talk. I called her severally earlier, but she missed the calls. I figured she was pissed at me, so here I was In front of her to confirm.I glanced around the small, sparsely furnished room and realized that she probably didn’t feel like talking.Should I just leave and give her some space?I put my hands into my pocket and licked my lips as they have suddenly become dried. I hesitated for a moment, unsure what to do, but she was looking so lost and confused that I decided to stay. After a few seconds, she ushered me into the room“My bad, you can come in.”“Okay, Thanks”, I replied.I entered the room, and we both sat down on the bed. I glanced around the room and noticed that they had been a few changes to it. It
Lovette POVThe boys were all away from home, so I was on my bed bored, I didn't know what to do, so I decided to text Tasha. We haven't communicated in a while. I grabbed my phone and scrolled through my contact list until I found Tasha's name. My finger hovered over the send button as I tried to think of what to say.I hope she isn't upset that I didn't keep in touch with her. I typed out a message to her asking her about the weekend.Me: Hey, how was your weekend?I hit send and waited patiently for a response. A few minutes later, my phone buzzed with a notification. I picked it up and saw that Tasha had replied.Tasha: It was good, thanks for asking. How about yours?Me: It was pretty chill. I just hung out at home and caught up on some TV shows. I just missed talking to you and wanted to see how you were doing."Tasha: Aw, that's sweet of you. I miss you too.It Sounds like you had a relaxing weekend. I ended up going out with some friends from school, and we had a blast.Me: Aw
Lovette POVI sat at my desk, staring at the phone in disbelief. Tasha had called me no less than ten times in the past hour, and each missed call sent a jolt of panic through my body.I tried to push the negative thoughts out of my mind, but they kept creeping back in. What if something had happened to Tasha? What if she was in some kind of trouble?I took a deep breath and tried to calm myself down. There was no point in jumping to conclusions. I needed to call Tasha back and find out what was going on.I dialled the number and patiently waited for Tasha to answer."Hello?" Tasha's voice sounded rushed on the other end of the line."Tasha, it's me. What's going on? Why did you call me so many times?" "Oh thank goodness you answered. I've been trying to reach you for hours. I need your help." Tasha's voice was laced with desperation.I sat up straight, my heart racing. "What's wrong? What do you need?""I lied about the help part, and it was a prank" "I have some big news." "What i
Ralph POVI sat on the stairs, my head resting against the cool wall while I closed my eyes and let out a deep sigh. My thoughts kept drifting back to Lovette, the little girl I had once teased and ridiculed when we were younger, laughing at her and making fun of her whenever I got the chance.I can’t believe how much has changed since then. I used to think of her as nothing more than a silly, annoying girl, but now I was head over heels in love with her.I know I have to do something about it.I remembered the way she had looked at me the other day when we had almost kissed. I could see the emotion in her eyes, and I knew that she felt the same way about me.I remembered the way she looked at me, with those big hazel eyes that seemed to see right through me. I remembered how she laughed, with a light and carefree sound that made my heart beat. I remembered the way she touched me with gentle hands that sent shivers down my spine.I have to tell her how much I feel about her, no matter
