Chapter 7: Again, My Life

Kimberly POV

"No! No! No!" I jumped out of the bed breathing heavily with my eyes staring at every corner of the room.

I was sweating very hard looking the same way I was yesterday.

"Drake, Drake.." my mouth trembled as I hurry to the door, my legs were wobbling and could not carry me. I crashed on the ground few times before I got to the door.

I attempted to open it but it seems to be locked. I started banging the door heavily, in desperation and impatience.

"Open the door! Open the door!" I cried out with a fainting voice, my hands fall countless times as I hit the door with all my power.

"Open the door! Who is there?" I shouted - breathing heavily with my weak eyes holding tears on my pale face.

How can a human be so ruthless and evil?

Nah.

He isn't a human after all, he is a wolf and very devilish.

I slumped down on the ground crying in agony. I clutched my aching chest with my hand looking depressed.

I rather die than suffer such unbearable plight.

"Drake... open the door, I want to see Drake. I want to talk to my son. Who is there?" my voice was already dropping, it was as if I was talking to myself.

Then the injuries all over my body started aching.

I pictured how he pushed me on the ground, scrubbing my skin until it bleeds. As if that was not enough, as I struggled out of his grip. He dragged me back to his camp without caring if I hit my waist on branches or block nor incure any wound.

Right from the onset, my life has been this miserable.

Soon, someone pushed open the door and I rolled down to the other side like a fallen doughnut.

I lifted my gaze only to find some servants before me, staring at me with furious eyes.

I swallowed hard.

"Drake... where is my son? I want to see my son.." I said with a shaking voice, looking so pitiful.

They shoot me a disdain stare before brushing me apart. I covered the garment I was wearing properly and charged to them again.

They took their sit on my bed, chair and other comfortable places. For servants, they were truly mean, rude and disrespectful.

"You are nothing but a disgraceful Luna, why should we answer to you?" a servant among the others snorted without staring at me.

"That's right. She is nothing but a rejected slave now, so you have no right to control us!" another servant charged towards me, giving me a dirty slap.

I gasped in shock.

What courage!

They should try this in my past life if I won't give them a piece of my mind. But, I'm nothing but a helpless, clueless woman here.

"Was that annoying glare for us? Did you just look at us that way?" one of the servant approached me, she seem to be pissed on the way I had looked at her.

I shook my head.

"Then why did you stare like that?" they asked in unison as if it was planned.

"I'm only laughing at myself." I paused, locking gaze with them.

They exchanged weird and confuse stares. I continued.

"I'm laughing myself on how weak, helpless, clueless and useless I'm. That I have no control of my life and that, mere servants can also spit on my face without getting punished." I laughed scornfully rolling on the floor like a crippled.

They were in daze and couldn't say any word.

"But it's all good. Count yourself lucky while these days last." I added in a vivid tone.

Then one of the servant among them sighed heavily.

"You are never going to be liberated. When our Lord is done with you, trust me, he is truly done!" she spat at my face in annoyance.

"We don't have to over work ourselves over her flimsy words." they rolled their eyes at me before leaving the room.

I exhaled deeply in relief.

I'm not the one that gives up so fast nor give in to fate without a fight.

I tried to console myself that my son is fine and no harm will near him. I leaned on the window as flashes of the last events showed in my vision. No matter how hard I tried to decieve myself, I also have to admit that I saw him bleeding heavily and if he wasn't sent to the hospital immediately - death was certain.

And base on Ashman's ruthless nature, he will never save my son. He does not care and why should he care?

I was baffled as how he has been chasing after me right from my past life down to this point. Is it by force to love a man or be claimed by a man? I don't want him.

Easy!

On hearing the creak sound from the door, I retired from the window to see who the guest was. All throughout today, I have been receiving messes from these peasant maids.

Surprisingly, it was Beta Amos this time and for some reason - small smile escaped from my lips. He strolled towards me holding a tray that contained light delicacies.

"You need to eat something if you want to live." he growled with his stoic face, placing the tray on the rough table.

"Amos." I called unto him before he beckon to leave the room.

"What?" he didn't turn fully, he asked.

"My son, what happened to my son?" I inquired desperately with my shaking voice, then he gradually turn. Staring at me.

"What do you think happens to Lord Ashman's prey?" he raised an annoying brow, holding a grin of mockery.

I was embarrassed, ashamed. I decided to act clueless.

"At least the prey will be forgiven and given a chance to prove themselves, after that the prey becomes his best friend and..." impatiently I rambled with words but his smirk stopped me.

I lifted my gaze at him.

"Your dear son is dead." he said to me in a straight tone. His face was emotionless.

Ashman has succeeded in turning him into a beast. I gasped in shock with my hands covering my mouth.

"Don't... you are lying... don't tell me that." I shook my head continuously, finding it hard to accept the truth.

Is this how miserable I will continue living my life?
