26. SIN

It wasn’t what I was expecting.

Honestly, it topped Tyrone’s gift but I wasn’t going to tell him that.

The room was small, but not too small. There were no windows on the wall, but there was one on the ceiling. Tyrone told me that it was called a skylight and that during the day it would allow sunlight into the room or I could watch the stars at night. The bed was built into the floor, the size of one wall to another and decorated with fluffy blankets and a few pillows.

Right in front of me, next to the bed was a wooden shelf. It had a few things packed on it here and there but I was too far away to see it clearly. Small white lights decorated the shelf and some spots on the carpeted floor around the shelf.

“There’s a bathroom.” Tyrone pointed to the door behind us. “It’s not that big but it has the essentials.”

“What’s in there?” I pointed to the four boxes that had been stacked against the wall in the space between the bed and the bathroom door.

Tyrone smiled. “Open it and see.”
