I sat at my computer and rubbed my eyes as I ran my paper through Grammarly.
This was the final paper I needed for my class before I graduated college, and it needed to be perfect. To say that I’m stressed is an understatement. Not to mention I have an interview in an hour for the biggest company in my field, Zane Incorporated. They’re a Software company specializing in everything, from websites to video games.
The company is run by four brothers who are, according to the press, incredibly brilliant and, according to some of the women in my class, possibly the sexiest men in the entire city, perhaps the whole world.
I pushed the thought out of my mind as I finished the last of the edits and quickly scanned over it before submitting it to my professor. Once the notification that it was sent came up on my computer, I closed it and headed to the shower to freshen up.
The scent of pumpkin and autumn leaves filled my senses as I stepped out of the shower and began getting dressed.
Since it’s Fall, I decided to wear a burgundy sweater dress, tights, and short brown boots. Braiding my hair to the side, I grabbed my mustard-colored cardigan and keys and was out the door.
The cab made its way toward the building in record time.
I stepped out, looking at the tower that stood tall over the city; I took a breath and headed inside. The interior’s architecture was stunning; it took my breath away. I made my way to the receptionist, who greeted me with a bright smile, “Hello, Ma’am, I’m Amber; how can I help you?”
“I have an interview today.” I told her, “Lillian Whispers.” She nodded and looked at her computer before looking back up at me,
“It looks like they are in a meeting, but they should be done soon.” Amber informs me, “Just have a seat over there, and I will let you know when you can head up.” I nod and make my way to the waiting area with stunning floor-to-ceiling windows. I took out my notes and studied as I awaited my interview.
It felt like I had been waiting forever when Amber came over to me, “Miss Whispers, the Zanes’ will see you now.” I got up, put my notes away, and followed her to the elevators. When the doors opened, Amber reached her hand inside and pushed a button, then allowed me to get on, “This will take you to the top floor.” She told me, “Once you’ve arrived, go to the end of the hall. They will be waiting for you in the main office.”
“Thank you, Amber,” I tell her; she wishes me luck as the door begins closing.
When the elevator dinged, I took a shaky breath and made my way toward the end of the hall. My hands shook as I reached up to knock on the double doors. I knocked four times, then waited a moment until I heard someone call out, “Come in.” I opened the door and walked in, seeing the four of them sitting at a long table with a single chair right across from them,
“Hello, sirs,” I said as I walked in; the four of them glanced up, staring at me.
“Hello, Miss,”
“Whispers.” I replied, “Lillian Whispers, but everyone calls me Lily.”
“It’s nice to meet you, Lily,” the one at the end said. “I am Anthony Zane, and these are my brothers, Brandon, Connor, and Dustin.” Anthony pointed to each of his brothers, who happened to be sitting in alphabetical order.
“Please, have a seat,” Connor said. I nodded and sat down across from them.
“So, Miss Whispers,” Dustin said, “Why do you want to work here?”
“Well, sirs,” I said, “I am about to graduate from Alador University with a degree in Software Engineering as well as game development.”
“Yes, we saw that on your resume.” Anthony said, “That doesn’t quite answer my brothers’ question.” I smile,
“Of course.” As I begin to explain, I say, “My dream is to have my own software company and maybe become as well known as your company. That’s why I want to work here. I want to learn how to run a successful business and build a company I can be proud of. I want to learn from the best, and that is what y’all’s company is. It’s the best.”
They each shared a glance with one another like they were having a discussion without even speaking to each other. It was a bit strange, I’ll admit. I sat there quietly as I waited for one of them to address me; at that exact moment, Anthony stood, walked around the long table, and stood right in front of me. My breath hitched in my throat as he reached his hand out for mine. I took his hand and immediately felt fireworks dance across my skin.
“Miss Whispers,” he said, his voice deep and mesmerizing like his dark eyes that seemed to stare at the depths of my soul,
“Y-Yes,” I said, trying to clear my throat. For a moment, just for a moment, I could have sworn I had seen him smirk at my flustered state.
“Welcome to Zane Incorporated.” He said. Is this a dream? I wondered. I slowly took my hand from his and moved it to my arm, pinching myself. It isn’t a dream. This is real! “You’ll start first thing tomorrow as our personal assistant.” My excitement turned to curiosity. Assistant?
“I’m sorry, Mr. Anthony, but I believe there’s been a mistake.” I said, “I didn’t apply for the assistant position.”
“We are aware, Miss Whispers.” He said as he made his way back to the table, “However, hearing you say you want to learn from us gave us a better idea of what you need.”
“You see,” Brandon said. “You would not learn how to run a company like ours by working in software.”
“We pulled your grades and have spoken to your professors.” Dustin added, “You’ve done very well, seeing that you are at the top of your class. We believe that it will benefit you more to work closely with us so you can learn how this company runs.”
“So,” Connor says as he and the others join Anthony on the other side of the table. “Do you accept the job?” I stared at each of them as they awaited my answer.
I’d be crazy not to tell them yes. This is my dream. It’s been my dream since my parents died… They always told me to find something that you’re good at, that I love, and the rest would follow.
I hope they’re right.
“Alright.” I say, “Yes, I accept.” I stood and shook each of their hands and began gathering my belongings.
“Perfect.” The brothers said in unison, “Report in this office tomorrow morning at eight, and we’ll get you started.”
“Thank you so much, sirs.” I say and walk out, “I will see you all tomorrow!” The moment the door shut, I squealed with excitement! I just got my dream job! I hope you’d be proud of me, Mom and Dad. I love you guys.
When I turned around, Dustin Zane stood, watching me with a smile. “Mr. Zane,” I said, clearing my throat and collecting my composer, “I’m sorry.” Dustin chuckled and moved closer to me,
“It’s fine.” He tells me, “I like seeing beautiful young women happy.” My cheeks began to flush as I smiled,
“Thank you, Mr. Zane.” He nods,
“I’ll see you tomorrow, then.”
“See you tomorrow.” I got on the elevator and kept my eyes on Dustin as the doors began closing. Realization soon hit me; was one of my bosses flirting with me? My mind started racing as I made my way home; I had so many questions and no answer. I decided to chill out and head home to prepare for my first day as a personal assistant to the most powerful name and hottest men in all of Alador City.
I hope I can handle this.
Panic. That’s the best way to explain what is going through my mind as I enter Zane Incorporated. I placed a cup on top of coffee on Amber’s desk, “Good morning, Amber.” I say with a smile. Amber takes the coffee and nods to me, “Good luck today.” She told me as I quickly made my way to the elevator. I pushed the button and watched as the doors began to shut, and I started going towards the top floor. Once I reached the top, I knocked on the door four times. When I heard someone call out, I opened the door and greeted each one with a coffee and a smile, “Good morning, gentlemen!” They glance at the cups of coffee and then back at me, “How did you know what coffee to get?” Anthony asked me; I smirked, “I do my research, Mr. Zane.” He glanced at me with a smirk and began sipping his coffee. He hummed in satisfaction and then turned back to the documents. “Thank you, Lily.” Connor says, “And by the way, since there are four of us, you can call us by our names.” “So, Mr
As the days turned into weeks, I began getting ready for our trip to Brindleton. Packing my bags, printing off our tickets, and making sure to go over my checklist to be sure everything was prepared. Once I triple-checked my lists and bags, I put them by the door and grabbed my keys before heading to work. When I arrived, I set Amber’s coffee and a muffin on her desk before heading up to see the guys. They each were on the phone talking to other companies, at least that’s what I assume. I went by each one and set down their coffees and muffins before heading out to my desk to get a few last-minute details situated while they finished their meetings. After a few hours had passed, I pulled out their tickets and separated them as well as the copies of them just in case they were to forget the original. I put the copies in a labeled folder in my bag and then proceeded to go to the main office. When I opened the door, the brothers were all gathered around Anthony’s desk. I cleared my t
As we made our way onto the plane, I made sure we all got to our seats. We all managed to get seats close together. Once I found my seat, I set my backpack in the overhead compartment after grabbing my laptop and sat down in my seat. Not even a moment later, Anthony sat down next to me. I looked over at him, curious as to why he was sitting with me, “I thought this seat was empty.” I said, but he shook his head, “Afraid not.” He tells me, “Would you rather me trade with one of the others?” I gave him a slight smile before replying,“There’s no sense in that. It was my mistake.” He chuckled a bit before bringing out his phone. Once we were in the air, I opened my computer to work on a new program that I had been developing. Considering it was a ten-hour flight, and what happened in the car, working on this instead of reading my book. Four hours into the flight and I started combing through my new program when I felt Anthony’s eyes looming over my shoulder. When I looked over at h
When we finally reached Brindleton, Florida, and our hotel, I checked us in and passed out room keys. We were all on the same floor but a few rooms apart, which was nice. We all went to our rooms; I dragged my heavy suitcase in and set it on the bed, beginning to unpack and put things away so it was easier to manage. Once I was completely unpacked, I decided to freshen up with a shower. The water engulfed my body in its steam as I started washing myself. It helped to soothe my aching muscles from the flight here. I didn’t think I was in there long, but it appears I was when the sound of knocking hit my hotel room door. “Just a second,” I called out, rinsing my body of the soap before cutting off the water and reaching for my towel. Once I was out of the bathroom, I grabbed my robe and tied it tightly around me before opening the door slightly to see Anthony and Brandon standing there. “Is there something wrong with your rooms?” I ask, assuming that’s why they were here, but they sh
I snuggled close to the warm body next to me, too comfortable to move but knew I needed to get up. I sat up and stretched my arms before being pulled back into the bed by the strong arms that had held me the entire night, “Ten more minutes.” Dustin pleaded sleepily. I smiled at his plea but began prying myself from his grip. Once I was up, I went straight for the bathroom to get ready for the day. When I came out of the bathroom, Dustin was turned over onto my half of the bed, making me chuckle a bit while I grabbed my planner from my bag and opened my computer. Glancing through, I was happy to see that today was a free day for us; the first meeting isn’t until tomorrow, so we have the whole day to rest and get our bearings around Brindleton. As I studied the planner and the notes I had on my computer, a pair of arms wrapped themselves around me as Dustin nuzzled his face against my hair. “What are you doing?” He asked; I closed the planner and turned to face him,“Just checking the
The moment we entered my room, Dustin’s lips were on mine, sending shivers of excitement down my body. My clothes were stripped from me as I was pushed into the bathroom and into the shower. “I-In the shower?” I stammered as his kisses made their way down my jawline to my neck, “We should get the sand off of us.” He muttered against my skin as he somehow managed to turn on the water. As soon as the water made contact with our skin, I felt a surge of emotions erupt around us. Dustin’s hands roamed my wet, naked body. I felt like I would reach my climax just by his touch alone. “Now, I need you to listen to what I tell you.” Dustin tells me, “Do you understand me?” “Yes.” “Yes, what?” Dustin said; I bit my lip, staring into his lustful gaze, “Yes, sir.” He smirked, “Good girl.” Another heated kiss was placed on my lips before he pulled away, guiding my leg onto the ledge, “Now, be a good girl and take your punishment.” Dustin’s fingers caressed my core before I felt them work t
I awoke just before the alarm could sound. Anthony and Brandon stirred as I tried crawling out of bed. Once I managed myself off the bed and into the bathroom, I started getting ready for the day. After brushing my teeth and hair, I walked out to see both Anthony and Brandon sitting up in the bed, staring at me the moment I opened the door. “Good morning, beautiful,” Brandon said; both of them reached out to me. “How did you sleep?” I crawled back into bed, placing a kiss on their lips. “I slept fine.” Brandon pulled me into his arms, gripping my ass, making me squeal. “Are you two prepared for the meeting?” “We’re not the ones that need to be prepared.” Anthony told me, “You’re the one who needs to be ready to take notes, and later tonight if you have any questions, be sure to write them down so we can go over them with you.” I turned over to give Anthony a subtle nod before laying back on my back and stretching. “We should probably get y’all’s brothers up and have them get rea
The company’s building was gorgeous! The architecture was almost as extravagant as ours back home. I could feel the vibrator in me move as we walked towards the front desk, I cleared my throat and looked at the receptionist, who was giving us a sideways glance.“Good afternoon, how can I help you?” she asked in a sweet voice.“Yes, we're here to see Mr. Johnson,” I replied.“Do you have an appointment?” I cleared my throat as the vibrations from the toy were pulsating up my body as if I was being struck by electricity. “Yes, we do, under Zane Incorporated.” I managed to reply; it took everything I had to fight back the moan that was threatening to escape my throat. “I'll let him know that you're here,” she said, picking up the phone and dialing his extension. She spoke for a few moments, then hung up and smiled at us. “Mr. Johnson will see you now. Take the elevator to the 18th floor, and his office is the last one on the left.”“Thank you,” I said, as we turned towards the elevato
