Chapter Four

"If you say so " now to Ivan " Ivan Donald right " Ifeanyi asked expecting a reply but as expected Ivan didn't , Ifeanyi just shrugged it off " come with me,let me show you to your room" he added and walked into the dorm,after taking what seemed like a deadly glance at me,Ivan followed him in and so did the guards

"So arrogant"I mumbled as I walked back to the cafeteria.Lunch break was over but I just needed to make sure every other student were now in their class.Sp duties

"Finally we are done for the day,God I love and hate my job" Chisom yawned so loudly, causing everyone of us to stare at her

"Swallow is o" Tokpe teased and we all laughed

"Tokpeeeee" she whined causing us to laugh even harder. Chisom and Tokpe ,they were both the labour prefects,he so much liked to tease her. They both act like couples , though we all teased them over it,we knew they liked each other but they kept denying their feelings . School was over and we had just finished our prefect meeting about retiring to our various dorms

"Good night ,guys,I'm off to bed" I told them 

"Yea me too" Miracle the sanitary prefect said aswell as we both walked down to our dorms.

As I layed on my bed that day all my thoughts were on my mom, how was she doing, how was she coping in the house without me . I could remember clearly how she tried holding her tears at the train station on the day I was coming to school. I know she must be missing me by now, God I miss her too. Different memories of us kept popping in my head, I didn't even knew when I dozed off.

"Trrrrrrrrr" the sound of the bell woke me up,I didn't know but that morning I was feeling really weak and tired.

"Adure Badmus,bring the exercise to my office when you are all through "Mr fortune our maths teacher said before he left the class.

"Adure your P.man" Tokpe teased

"Tokpe I will kill you, you guys should stop calling Me. Fortune my dad abeg" I said admist laughter

"But is it not true, the man likes you alot, he treats you like his daughter" Dani added winking at the rest

"Daniiiii" I whined "even you too?" 

"Com'on guys , you all know he treats me that way because I'm very good in math" I said. Yea I'm so good in math, even though I was an art student. 

it was a free period so we just used it to do the math exercise 

" Okay everyone pls come and submit Mr Fortune's work o,I want to go now." I spoke out loud enough for every one to hear since we were up to 40 in the class ,oh I meant 41 now. I sat as everyone started submitting theirs " is this all " I asked , not waiting for a reply ,I stood up making my way to the door

" Hey ugly wait " a voice halted my movement , a pretty cool voice . I didn't turn around , I just stood still. I could hear his foot steps behind me , I could feel his warmth as he came closer also his fragrance was mind blowing

"Here's mine " he said standing in front of me.

Damn he looked so good in his school uniform,the trouser was his exact size and the sleeves were just perfect.i couldn't help but drool .

" Hm-hmm , if you keep drooling at me like this ,you might end up liking me . Just to be clear I don't date ugly girls " His harsh words snapped me into reality

" You wish, I will never fall for a dumbass like you " I managed to say ,gosh I hated that smirk on his crazily gorgeous face .I was about walking but the weird and funny look I was getting from my classmates made me ran instead. I just couldn't stop thinking of his words ,does he really have to remind me of my tribal marks all the time. tears were already rolling down my cheeks.

" Adure are you okay " Mr.Fortune asked as I cleaned my eyes

" Yes sir I'm fine, please excuse me " I said as I ran down to the restroom.

Thankfully it was lunchbreak already,I didn't return to the class,I just took permission from the principal to retire to my dorm cus I lied I was having a severe stomach ache. 

I was still in when Chisom and the rest came in

"Hey, what are you guys doing here, school is still on" I sat up, really surprised at them

"Well we noticed you didn't return to class , after your little talk with that new kid, so we decided to come check up on you " Ella spoke up

"Umm, I was having a stomach ac...." Tokpe didn't allow me finish before he cut in

"Oh please spare us that lie Adure, we are all prefects here,of course we form silly excuses just to have our way,and also just for you to know ,you really put that guy in his place ,so stop sulking and come back to class"

"Plus you are one of the pretty girls I know,I've always told you these marks on your face made you even more prettier, take it for a guy who has eyes for fine girls" Danny added

"Oh please Danny it's a lie , these marks made me uglier" I said almost immediately

"Aunty uglier, have you seen your self in the mirror, biko stand up and let's go to class, I keep telling you we are black girls magic,we are gorgeous" Cindy butted in

"Yeah, we are lush" Chisom added

"Hmmmn, please some people are not included o"Tokpe said as soon as Chisom finished talking, which caused us to burst into an outrageous laughter

"Tokpe you sef your wahala too much"I said in pidgin

"Abi o" Chisom concurred

"So, what do you say my lady, shall we catwalk it out" Bimbo said in her crazy British accent

"Yea we shall" I answered as we all catwalked out of the dorm , including the guys .

"Hey you guys com'on stop catwalking " I said and we all laughed again. They can act silly sometimes. That's us for you ,Dowen's High prefect. The last set weren't as close as us, infact they were always at each others throat, causing problems for one another ,all for the SP position.

"Adure you are here , I thought you said your tummy was aching'' Mr Peter our literature teacher said the moment we all stepped into the class

"Yes sir, but after resting a little it subsided and now our Adure is back"Tokpe spoke on my behalf

"Are you Adure " Mr Peter asked playfully

"Yes sir, I'm her and she's me "Tokpe replied which made everyone laugh including Mr. Peter , Ivan wasn't in class , so was the rest Science student. The class slowly calmed down as we all settled down.

" So how are you doing Mami" I asked

"Dear I'm fine, what about you" she responded, her voice sounded dull,was it her phone mouthpiece or what,I thought.

"Mummy you sound dull,are you really sure you are alright"

"Nko mi,I said I'm fine , you worry too much.today was very stressful that's all" she answered

"Mum,did he hit you , please be honest " I asked really concerned " mum please tell me, please" 

"He didn't, Adure please hang up now,
