Chapter Forty Nine: A new Journey...

Three days later, Gwen was packed and ready to go for her journey. She was still hesitant about leaving her mother alone, but her mother was adamant about her going away for a while. She didn’t understand her mother’s fears, but in order to keep her mind at peace, she had no choice but to do her bidding.

She stood in front of her door, a small suitcase by her side, as her mother looked her up and down, running her hands down her daughter’s arms.

“I will miss you.” She whispered, looking at her daughter.

“I can still say back.” Gwen said. “It’s not too late.”

Her mother shook her head, smiling sadly. “It is better you leave.”

“Mom, have you ever considered that you just might be thinking too much into this? Your ex-husband may not do anything to us in the end.”

“You do not know your father like I do. He has ambition, and from what I saw when last he came, his ambition has grown passed what he can handle. He can do anything to solve a problem that pushes him to the wall. If you are
