Chapter 15

Bella’s pov

I woke up to find Haydn sitting at the edge of the bed.

"Bella, you're awake. Is there anything still bothering you?" He carefully helped me sit up.

My injuries had improved significantly; the wounds on my face and body were starting to heal. Remembering what happened before I fell asleep, Haydn had rushed back from the border to save me.

"I'm fine. Weren't you at the border? How did you come back?" I asked hesitantly.

"Don't worry, we've mostly dealt with the rogues at the border. Your father and brother are still there, dealing with the remnants." Haydn showed me a necklace around his neck. "This necklace reminded me to come back and save you."

I slowly lifted the necklace to examine it. Haydn explained that it had suddenly heated up and emitted an ominous red light when he was at the border, making him realize I might be in danger. It seemed the secrets of this necklace were more than we had imagined.

"It seems this is truly a magical necklace, bringing us luck." Haydn
