Chapter 3
SERAPHIM
SIX DAYS LATER
During the past few days, I was mercilessly trained by Beta Ace. My mornings were spent attempting to master noble etiquette; how to walk gracefully, how to sit, how to speak while revealing my true emotions, and lastly how to eat gracefully in public.
Though I find it a bit funny as I believe all those petty things are of no use, but who knows if it might be of use..
In the afternoons, I was forced to read books on battles, tactics, and politics. Even when I claimed to have read thousands of books, my words fell on deaf ears, and eventually, I had to read them.
I had thought I would be trained in martial arts, but to my surprise, I wasn't taught any. Alpha Ace claimed I do not need that. But I believed it could have been useful for me, especially in terms of protecting myself from dangers.
I never knew my father could be that disgusting to the extent of sending a female prostitute to teach me how to seduce a man. Like a whole Alpha?! I find it disgusting, but I have to learn every single detail of it, even though I know it won't be of use.
And finally, the day is here, the day the royal emissary will be here to pick me up. I heard they're here tonight. And they've been going to packs to select candidates on behalf of their Alpha.
Though I find it hard that a candidate would be chosen from our pack given the fact that their Alpha holds grudges against my clan but who knows how it might turn out.
I was seated in front of the mirror while the maids were working on my face and then boom, my transformation was more shocking than I could ever have imagined. My skin was glowing, and my hair felt more silky and softer. I had become someone else entirely.
“So this is the privilege Chloe has been enjoying?”
“You look beautiful, Sera.” Mrs Janet, my Nanny said as she stood behind me while we stared at each other through the mirror.
She has questioned why I had accepted the Alpha’s disgusting plan, but she had no idea of what would happen to her if I rejected my father's plan. I never told her about the poison or anything, she only knew a marriage candidate. And telling her about the poison could lead her to worry unnecessarily.
And I do not want that for her. She was a mother figure to me and would always be.

As I walked towards the royal emissary, I was expecting to see at least my father with them. But it was Beta Ace that was exchanging pleasantries with them.
“It's okay, Miss.” My nanny said as she rubbed my back lightly while we made our way to the parking lot where they were. And finally, I was in front of them.
“It's time to leave, Miss,” The royal emissary announced, and I nodded briefly before turning around and staring blankly into space.
I swore to myself never to acknowledge Alpha Jayden as my father, and neither will I return to this pack if possible. I wasn't the chosen one and I wasn't killed. But, I will stay alive at any cost.
The journey to the NIGHT SHIFTER CLAN was so long and it took about two days. It was announced earlier that we'll enter the territory in forty minutes from now.
Throughout the journey, I had tried my best to keep myself awake and master every single road that was taken along the journey, in case it was needed. I even drew a map of a road that I could easily forget.
I believe I could escape if I weren't chosen. I don't even know if I want to be chosen or not. It has never once come to my mind.
And finally, we got to the entrance of the territory but the territory gate wasn't opened for us. Even the car that came after us entered, making me feel uneasy.
“Miss, why are they not opening the territory gate for us? Could it be that they plan to unlive us even before entering the territory?” Mrs Janet asked worriedly, but I was sort of answering and could only rub my palms together.
And finally, after a long, dramatic wait, we were allowed inside, and I was taken to my room.
THE NEXT DAY
The maids ushered me into a grand hall filled with different ladies from different packs. They all look beautiful, adorned in silk gowns with different varieties of jewelry. And they all seemed excited except me.
“I heard Alpha Silas is more handsome and his visuals are one of the best in the universe.” A lady said, giggling beside me.
“He's the strongest and the most manly man. If such a person can become my husband, I have nothing more to ask for!”
“ He's my dream man!”
I watched them in disbelief, unable to believe my ears. They were daydreaming about a cruel man. They don't mind spending the rest of their lives under a cruel man like Alpha Silas.
I lowered my head and stepped to the back, in the shadows of the people before me. Of course, I hope I don't get chosen. But the feelings of unease settled deep inside me as I thought about the poison I was made to take..
“OMG, Alpha Silas is coming!!!” one lady squealed, blushing ear to ear as she quickly arranged her dress.
Chapter 4SILAS DEANE I stood at the corner of the hall, staring closely at every one of them. My thoughts were far away in search of her among the damn crowds. But no matter the search, she's nowhere to be found. I was on the brink of giving up when my Beta, Tony suggested the hunt for a bride selection from different packs across the universe. And thinking about that, I think that was a perfect option for my search. “Alpha..” I heard my Beta - Tony's voice behind me, he sounded anxious with big fear as he called my attention. I could feel how anxious he was despite backing him. “Speak up, Tony!” I ordered coldly, I hated one to be anxious or show their vulnerable side which he is much aware of. He cleared his throat, “Alpha, we've seen someone who looks exactly like her in the selection. There's no difference but…” “But what?!” I thundered furiously as I turned around gripping his collar with nothing but anger boiling furiously in me. Tony didn't flinch, and neither was he ta

Chapter 2 “You're dismissed.” Alpha Jayden said Those words echoed in my head. “What?” For a second, I couldn't think straight, I couldn't help thinking if I had misunderstood his words but I know I didn't. I perfectly heard those words from him.I stared straight at him, feeling short of words at the moment until I heard him utter the word dismissed. Like just like that? Everything sounds ridiculous or maybe funny. Does he mean his words? I shouldn't join the bride selection of Silas Deane. Just the thought of his name sends shivers down my spine. Alpha Silas Deane is the most ruthless, deadly Alpha. The strongest Alpha of all, a tyrant who had taken down different packs that had a hand in the massacre of his parents and his pack members years back. There has been a rumor circulating for years that our pack betrayed Alpha Sila's father, which led the enemies to wipe out his pack. To cut it short, our pack has been walking on eggshells while trying to make sure everything is un
Chapter 1SERAPHIM Chris's lips brushed against mine. He was about to deepen the kiss when he murmured my stepsister's name. “Chloe….” he whispered with his eyes closed. As if he were reminiscing about her. The name only made my anger boil to the fullest, and I instantly pushed him away without caring about anything else at that moment. “How could you, Chris? You just whispered Chloe's name!” I lamented, each word pierced through my heart. His eyes widened unbelievably; it was at that moment he realized he'd uttered another lady's name rather than the woman he was kissing. “Fuck!” He cursed, wiping off his lips which had a little bit of lipstick stain.“Listen, Sera. I can explain okay! It's never what you think, huh?” he said, but he couldn't bring himself to say any word. It was as if he ran out of words. Though I have always had a little bit of doubt but without reasonable evidence, I wasn't able to prove whether my doubt was true or not. But luckily today, everything came i
