Natalia POV

“Margaret?” Her name leaves my voice in no more than a whisper.

She shuffles uncomfortably where she stands. “It’s me,” she says with sarcastic enthusiasm.

“Oh my Goddess,” I breathe out as I pull her into a strong embrace. Stretching my arms out in front of me I hold her there, looking over her body, unable to believe that she is actually there. “I thought you were dead.” Tears threaten to stream down from my eyes I as hold her closely to me once again. “I should have never left you alone that night.”

“You couldn’t have known what he is capable of,” Margaret says uncomfortably against my shoulder because I refuse to let her go. “I am sorry I did not tell you that I was leaving,” she pulls herself away from me as speaks. “I just couldn’t…”

Pressing my fingers to her lips I refuse to let her say another word. “You did not know who you could trust,” I fill in the blanks for her. “That is completely understandable. Are you here to find your mate?” I ask curiously
