We were soon leaving the castle and entering the garden, Colby said the best and easiest way to get to the waterfall was through the back. I didn’t really have any idea where we were going, but I trusted Colby would get us there in one piece. I did wonder if I should have left a note for Axel, that way I could explain where I was so he wouldn’t worry. But I didn’t have the time, Colby was worried the storm may be coming quicker than we all think so time really was of the essence. Once we had made it out of the border of the castle, which surprisingly, the guards allowed us through without asking any proper questions. The trek was going to be harder than what I had first anticipated, the little walk slowly slipped into a hike up a huge hill. Colby had to hold my hand as I navigated around huge cliff rocks, I had to keep reminding myself that it was all for the greater good. “Thank you again for helping me Colby, I know you probably don’t want to be climbing this thing.” I say out of
I stare at this man dumbfounded for a few seconds, there is no way that my birth father is really sat in front of me right now. How and why has he just appeared to help me? None of this is making sense to me! The thing which snapped me from my thoughts was another huge clap of thunder, this reminding me of what situation we were in at the moment. I look away from Julian and down to Colby, his eyes remained on me as the people began to go over the different options which we had. They were suggesting that we wrap his leg and once it’s secured, they will carry him to safety. “We need something to wrap around his leg.” One of the men say, I look around in hopes I’d find something when my eyes fall on my jacket. “You can use this.” I say beginning to take my jacket off, this causing me to grow even colder than I was before but I refused to focus on that, I needed to make sure Colby could be taken somewhere safe to get the help that he needed. “No Evermore, you’ll freeze.” He says as I
I remain alone in front of the fire for awhile, my clothes were still very much wet but the fire was certainly, doing it’s job to warm me up. The cave was quiet as I sat lost in thoughts, the only sound that you could hear was the raging storm outside. Colby was having a much deserved rest, but I was still in eyeshot of him if he were to get worried. My thoughts begin to swirl with the many questions that I had for Julian, not only about what he may be and the abilities that he has. But I also have questions surrounding my mother, I’ve always wondered how she used to be before she fell pregnant with me and fell out with Julian. Was she a nice person? Was it Patrick that ended up changing her into the woman that I know? Was it my fault? I won’t deny that I haven’t always had those kinds of thoughts, ever since I was locked in the attic and told I wasn’t allowed to leave, I wondered if it was down to something I had done wrong. “Whenever I sit in front of the fire, my thoughts tend to
I stare at this old man for a few seconds, how is it that everyone here just knows my name? But also, how was it that this man knew what my next question was going to be? I realise that I hadn’t spoken and was just sat there confused for a couple seconds. “How did you know?” I ask that being the only question that came to mind, I was already so surprised on the information I had learnt leading up to this point already. “Since you were born, I have been experiencing visions regarding you.” He smiles which shocks me to the core, so he knew I would have to deal with my mother and Patrick but eventually, find Axel? “Come through here with me, let us talk in a more private manner.” The man smiles moving aside slightly, the cave splitting off and seeming as though it went downhill. I mean yes, I wanted to know what he was talking about, but following a random man down a dark cave like place probably isn’t the best idea! I also didn’t want Colby waking up and seeing I wasn’t there, I owe
I wake up to the sun hitting my eyes, I open them up but have to close them soon after due to the light. After a few seconds, my eyes adjust and I’m able to sit up slightly and look around. The sun had been reflecting from the water of the waterfall, which for the first few short seconds, I forgot where I was. I turn to the side where Colby was sat up, his leg in bandages but he didn’t seem as though he was in very much pain. He was looking at the water splashing on the floor of the cave slightly, by his face you could see his mind was on other things. He soon looks over feeling my eyes on him where he smiles. “Good morning Evermore.” He smiles turning his body around to face me, while his injured leg remained in the same place, I really hope it doesn’t have any permanent damage. “I hope you had a good sleep.” Another voice says from somewhere, I turn to the other side where Julian was walking over with a cup of water for me. “It was very different sleeping here, but I managed to
It takes us around an hour to fully get off the mountain, as the storm had caused the ground to grow soft and slippery, I had to take things slow so I didn’t fall on my face. Once we arrived back, Joey was stood there with his many questions that Axel chose not to answer. He told me to wait in the bedroom while he sort Colby out, where he reassured me he’d be taken to the hospital and not attacked by Axel. I wanted to wait just in case he didn’t stick to his word, but I realise I need to start trusting him more and left. I wait in the room for an hour, but still Axel didn’t show up which once again, worried the heck out of me. I decide to jump in the shower to wash off the mountain mud which littered my body, but also to kill some time while Axel dealt with whatever it was he was dealing with, hopefully not Colby’s fate. Once I was finished in the shower, I towel dry my hair before wrapping another towel around myself and head out into the bedroom to grab some clothes. When I walk
After the rather eventful morning with Axel, I finally, manage to get ready for the day while he showered. Once I was ready, I walk back into the bedroom with a smile on my face, my eyes begin to scan my surroundings where I find the book from Bryan, still sat on the table waiting for me. I haven’t got a chance to read that yet, I wanted to wait until after Axel and I spoke and than with everything that happened after we spoke, it’s just sat there. I walk over to the table and take my seat, the title in a faded gold colour getting my attention. This is a book which so many people are fighting to find, they will quite literally, kill for it! I place my hand on the front cover and pull the book open, the intense smell of the past filling my senses. The title page looking back at me, this whole event feeling so surreal. With a deep breath I turn the page, where I assumed chapter one would be looking right back at me, but it wasn’t. There was a little note from the author, which read. “
I follow my guards deeper into the castle, we begin to walk down corridors which I had never before. But within a few short moments, I saw the sign for the castle hospital which told me we were going the right way. Jordan walks through the door first to make an initial check, before telling me it was safe to enter. I send him a smile walking through the open door, most of the doctors and patients alike sending me shocked expressions. I soon stop at the front desk, the woman typing eagerly on her computer. She turns to look at me for a second before looking back at what she was doing, but her brain seems to register and her eyes snap to me once again. “Your majesty, I apologise for not helping you sooner. What can I do for you?” She asks in a worried type voice, where I send her a smile to let her know I wasn’t at all mad. “I’m here to see a friend of mine, one of my guards called Colby, I’m sorry I don’t know his last name.” I say knowing how ridiculous that was, how many people he
