~Lana~
“Keep up with me, darling!” Alric challenged Lana as she climbed on top of the highest peak at the Port of Valmore.
A loud growl escaped Lana’s lips as her wolf jumped to the next clearing. The couple had been running in their wolf forms to where Alric planned their romantic night together, immediately after their mating ceremony.
“How far more?” She probed.
Pointing with his snout, Alric’s wolf replied, “We are almost there.”
It did not take long for them to arrive at the top, where boulders of rocks stood now and then, but a wide flat surface could also be found, closer to the edge of the cliff.
A huge tent was put in place, where inside, a king-size bed had been set up.
While Alric shifted and took a big whiff of the surrounding air, Lana ogled at the romantic set-up inside the tent. Candles were already lit. Plumeria blooms were scattered on the bed and on the ground. The best part was h
Thank you for waiting. Sorry I'm late, guys. Went out to have vaccines with my kids and I think my baby is feeling the flu vaccine, he doesn't want me to put him down. He doesn't even want to sleep with his dad. I'll write the next chapter tomorrow instead. Thank you for understanding.
~Lana~ In a graveled path within the pine forest, Reeth’s grey and black wolf thrust rocks with his pause in Drake’s way. Only then did he lunge at him and attempted to bite on his neck. Drake’s fawn-coated wolf rolled over with Reeth’s, both clawing while pursuing to take a bite. In the end, with how he was using the surrounding resources, Reeth managed to put Drake down with both his paws, his canines ready to snap. It was then that they shifted into their human. “While our kind is fast, we are also fighting against werewolves who hold almost the same speed and agility,” Reeth explained to Lana during their training session. “Thus, in our territory, mastery of the environment is key. We use it to our advantage.” Since Reeth knew the conditions at the Hidden Mist Valley Pack the most, Elenor suggested that he give insight to Lana and the Gammas, at least for a day or two. Lana’s aunt Lucille also came to add her own insights.
~Alric~ The gathering of Alphas had finally arrived. Alric led the circle, in a meeting held at the centermost part of Eastern Dhuran, Costa Veena, a territory belonging to the Blue Moon Pack. All in all, there were fifteen Alphas who came to that gathering, ten of which had long formed an alliance with Alric. They were inside a large conference room, where their Betas stood with them, a few of their men lingered behind them. Whereas, Alric sat next to Lana and Dean, on the other side. “Good afternoon, everyone.” Alric’s eyes landed on the current Alpha of the Dust Mountain Pack, the same group that allegedly held Lana’s father captive. “Thank you all for coming here today and accepting my invitation. As mentioned in my solicitation letters, I am expanding our business, hoping to partner with some other packs here that had not previously made an alliance with me,” Alric explained his intent. “I am offering a tra
~Gunner~ After years of being injected with wolfsbane, Gunner thought he would end up dead, but they never gave him enough doses to perish. Instead, it only strengthened his endurance towards the said poison. He became immune to its side effects. Over time, the same dose no longer affect him. When his captors realized it first, they had increased his dose. Gunner understood he had to act weak in front of them, make them think the wolfsbane was working. For nineteen years, he was locked up in an underground prison. He was deprived of the moon’s light and fed with scraps. From time to time, he would suffer a beating and he did not know why and what triggered it until Morfran came himself, cursing him for taking what his heart desired. The idea mortified him. He prayed to the moon goddess that his wife bore Morfran's advances. He used to think that Morfran had accepted the fact that Arabella was mated to him, but he was wrong to believe
~Lana~ Lana’s eyes have turned completely white. Her gaze fixed on the bright moon against the night, her arms stretched out, seizing the wind. Her reddish-blonde hair was fading into the color of ash white. The surrounding air became harsh, circling with force and creating heated roars. White vapor sizzled around her while the near pines wavered. As she stood in the middle of the pine forest, she sensed being hemmed in by potent energy on all sides, and in the next few seconds, she felt the same power become one with her. She gasped at the sudden surge of energy, her eyes shut with the bolt. The moment she opened her eyes, the clamors of the wind hushed, and the pines stilled. Her eyes were back to the color of blue and her hair returned to its original shade. She huffed and puffed before claiming, “I feel… I feel strong. Like I could do anything." In front of her, Lucille nodded approvingly, answering, “And strong is what you should be.
~Lana~ Throughout the entire dinner, Lana watched as her father ate heartily, all while laughing and crying at Kai’s stories. She could tell he was in pain, pain for having missed so many years, yet he was happy he could finally hear it all. The sight of their exchanges caused her to cry, so she excused herself and made her way up to the master bedroom. She sobbed her anger away while looking at the bright moon and the gleaming stars. She did not know for how long she stood there, weeping, but eventually, she heard the door open and her husband called for her, “Darling? Are you alright? I told your father you were just tired.” “Oh, gods. I don’t want to make him worry,” she said, wiping the stain on her face. She noticed arms around her waist and she felt Alric’s lips on her cheek. He said, “I told him you are trying to prepare your body to conceive -” “Shameless!” She countered, her face turning red as she gazed into
~Morfran~ It was raining densely across the town proper of the Hidden Mist Valley, and the fogs were thicker than usual. Visibility was close to zero. Yet, in the midst of the dullness, Morfran could be seen standing on top of the freshly covered grave, within a private cemetery belonging to the pack’s name. Tears rolled down his sullen face as he remained standing on top of Arabella’s burial. His hands were formed into fists, his jaws locked, thinking how all his sacrifices have gone down the drain. The woman he loved for so long left him. Arabella followed Gunner to death. “Arrrgghhh!” He growled, thinking about how he failed to secure Arabella's heart. Despite being dead, Gunner won over him. Many years back, when he learned that his precious Arabella was mated to his best friend and Alpha, Morfran's heart was crushed altogether. He found her first and so she should have been his! This was what he firmly believed.&nb
~Arabella~ Sleeping in the small dimension she had created as her solace, Arabella felt her skin crawl. She had about four square feet of space, a small bed that she could sleep in. It was ironic how her place of comfort was like a mere box, which gave nothing but an eerie feeling. However, that was better, so much better than being with Morfran. A small portion of her hand burned and itched. She jerked up to the familiar calling of her older sister, Lucille. The small spiral mark on her hand was glowing and scorching. White vapor sizzled out of her mark, and her sister’s eyes became visible to her view. Lucille spoke through the smoke, “Arabella, I have little time. We have Gunner -” Stunned, Arabella interrupted, “What did you say? How are you able to contact me, Lucille? Haven’t you exhausted your powers the last time you were in a fight -” “I have regained my strength, thanks to the healer of the Val
~Arabella~ “The rogues are catching up to us,” Arabella said while clinging tightly to Max's wolf. “There are six or seven of them!” She watched as Valencia cast a spell of deception, resulting in the rogues becoming distracted, but eventually, they caught on, following their tracks. They were looking so ferocious; they seemed adamant to catch up with them. “They are quick!” She exclaimed. “Don’t worry. We are nearing the borders of the Port of Valmore!” Max revealed, his eyes focused on the path ahead. "Just hold on tight! I'll run even faster!" “I’ve mind linked with Alric. They are coming our way,” Valencia revealed. "Alric won't be so forgiving!" It was because Max and Valencia were too fast that they arrived closer to the Port of Valmore much sooner. They spotted rogues following them while crossing the Blue Moon Pack's territory, and Max suspected they were still part of Morfran’s men. Her sister Lucille
