Kyle's POV:
My heart raced with excitement at the thought of finally finding my mate, the one who would rule by my side. It was unbelievable that she had been hidden in a despicable place like a slave den. Every brute who had touched her deserved to be flayed and left to dry, but I understood the political implications of such a move.
I turned the picture of her in my hand, studying her features. It was taken when she was first captured by the slavers, and even then, her beauty was captivating. Her innocent essence was evident in her gorgeous face, and her eyes held a deep strength that was a legacy of her royal blood.
"She's the one," I said with a wave of satisfaction, holding the picture out for my Beta, Oma, to see. I trusted her to find my mate, and she had delivered beyond my expectations.
"I'm glad I could find her," Oma vowed, her voice brimming with pride. I couldn't help but feel grateful for her loyalty and dedication. She had earned the position of my Beta, and nothing was stopping me from promoting her.
I thanked her with a sincere smile, feeling the weight of anticipation lifting off my shoulders. She would be in the pack house within the hour, and I could finally claim her as mine.
I discarded the picture, knowing it had lost its appeal now that she was within reach. She was the last piece of the puzzle, the final addition to my pack. With her by my side, I could finally take my rightful position as Alpha of the Diamond Night pack, with her as my Luna.
Deciding to take a bath and prepare for my mate, I got up and stretched my massive legs, feeling a surge of energy coursing through me. My chambers had an air of royalty, with heavy curtains and massive oak panels adorning the walls. The bed I slept on was big enough to accommodate a small crowd.
The shower was exactly what I needed to make my body feel fluid again. The tension of waiting for my mate had made my joints heavy as lead. As I got dressed in a white buttoned shirt and denim blue trousers, I could feel the sun setting outside.
A part of me wanted to go to my Uncle, Theon, and rub it in his face that I had finally found my mate. He had taken the position of acting Alpha during my search, but I suspected he was somehow responsible for her disappearance in the first place. Theon was a cunny bastard, lacking morals and a sense of family, but making up for it with his quick wit and viper-like personality. However, I knew better than to make such a ridiculous move.
As I stepped out of my chambers, I ran into Marius. His expression told me he had been on his way to see me. "Just the kid I wanted to see," he said, even though he was only a year older than me.
I grinned as we shook hands, taking in the AXE cologne he was wearing. It was similar to mine, but his had a more subtle intensity, like it could put a herd of wildebeest in a trance.
"You got something for me?" I asked, opening my hands.
He smiled back, his eyes sparkling. I knew what he was looking for, but I wasn't ready to talk about it yet. I didn't want to risk ruining the operation for Oma - I was still a firm believer in jinx.
"So you found her," he said, his excitement palpable.
I sighed, knowing there was no avoiding the topic anymore. We made sure we were alone in the hallway before I nodded. His face lit up with a radiant glow.
"That's insane! Oma really is the best," he exclaimed.
I nodded in agreement. It had taken Oma only a week to do what my elite team of men couldn't accomplish. She was a valuable asset, and I knew better than to let her go.
Just then, my phone buzzed, signaling Oma's return. One beep meant she had returned; two beeps meant she had succeeded in bringing my mate back.
"I have to go. We'll talk later," I said, heading quickly to the trap door that led to the secret tunnel.
Once I met Oma in the unused wing of the pack house, I instructed her to bring my mate through the secret passageway. As we walked to the passage that led to my chambers, Oma bowed and addressed me as "Sir."
I was too overwhelmed to respond properly, so I gave her a reassuring pat on the shoulder. "She's washing up. I'll get her ready and send her to your chambers when she's done."
I breathed a sigh of relief as Oma left to fetch my mate. "Thank you, Oma," I said, my gratitude sincere. "I don't know what I would do without you."
As we made our way to my chambers, I couldn't help but feel my heart racing with anticipation. I would wait for my mate to be brought to me, eager to finally meet her.
"Is there anything else you need, Alpha Colt?" Oma asked, her unwavering loyalty evident in her voice.
"No, Oma. You've done enough. You should rest," I replied, grateful for her dedication.
After she left, I made my way to my chambers and waited for my mate to arrive. Though I didn't intend for it to be a long wait, I must have dozed off.
Suddenly, I sensed her presence in the room, and I stirred awake. As I watched her approach, I noticed her shyness and the way her trembling hands clutched at the hem of her dress.
I stepped towards her, and she flinched with every move I made. Her body shook with feverish nerves.
"Relax, mon amour," I said softly, my hand reaching out to touch her shoulder. But as my fingers grazed her skin, I sensed something was off. My senses went on high alert, and I watched her closely as she averted her gaze.
And then, I saw it. The redness of her lips, swollen from someone else's kiss. I could even smell the faint scent of the interloper on her breath.
"Who did this to you?" I snarled, fury rising within me. "Who dared to touch what's mine?"
Mauris POV. The warm glow of the setting sun bathed our cozy cottage as Yara and I stepped through the front door, our hearts brimming with joy. We had just returned from witnessing the union of our beloved sister, Maggie, to the man she truly loved. The air was filled with an electric energy, a tangible reminder of the love and happiness that had enveloped the castle.
