Marius's POV:
Kyle wasn't sparring at the Pitt and his favorite horse was still in the stables so he hadn't gone out for a ride. Where could he be then?
I had been so excited when Oma had confided in me about her success in finding Kyle's mate. It was something worth celebrating and we were all overdue for a celebration.
After doodling around for a while, I moved back into the pack house to see if he was inside somewhere.
Maggie blocked my way, smiling up at me with a devilish grin. It was too late to run away from her just like I did the last time. I had to face her.
"Maggie." I smiled nervously.
"Marius." She said in a sensual drool.
Maggie moved closer, pushing her partly exposed boobs toward my body. I had watched her grow up and it was hard to believe how fast she had turned into a woman.
"Why do I feel like you have been avoiding me?" She skipped playing with a strand of her crimson-red hair.
Her breasts jerked viciously with every move she made. Maggie's body could start wars and end them even without her trying.
"That's because I have," I admitted.
She asked to know why, even though she was fully aware of the reason I was avoiding her and her devious shenanigans.
"We are cousins!" I bawled, keeping my voice low.
She chuckled like a schoolgirl as she pinched my side. I saw the move, but she was too fast for me to avoid it before it happened.
"Cousins get married all the time. It's a thing." She made circles around me as she skipped. I felt like a trapped animal.
"It's the 21st Century. Somehow I find your awkwardness one of the biggest turn ons." She went on. "C'mon let's make a messy sin."
My breath caught in my throat as she trailed one long finger along my chest. I tried to speak, but there was a lump blocking my windpipe.
She stiffened and then looked over her shoulder. Her eyes rolled as she looked at me once again.
"Kyle." She pointed towards the upper passageway towards his chambers. "He's on his way here. I guess you were looking for him before you ran into me."
I nodded, even though she had ambushed me rather than the normal scenario she had just painted.
"We'll pick off from where we stopped. Next time." She left with a wink.
I wanted to tell her it was never going to happen, but I knew I would be wasted on her.
I made my way up the stairs and ran into Kyle.
"Just the kid I wanted to see," I said as I gasped for air.
Kyle smirked at me, his dark eyes going soft. He was my best friend and my only friend if I was being real.
"Got something for me?"
I grinned, shaking my head. It was so obvious that he was in a jolly mood, yet somehow he was playing safe bottling it. Guess I'd have to drop my cards on the table.
"So you found her," I said.
He sighed, his face lighting up, and with that, the strain he had been carrying for weeks vanished. He nodded in agreement.
"That's insane! Oma really is the best," I gasped.
"Yes, she is."
I felt happy for him and the opportunities that would arise as a result. He would finally take his place as the Alpha of our great pack. The Alpha-hood had been passed down from his family since the beginning, and everyone had been disappointed when they thought it would skip this generation and go to his Uncle, but Oma had pulled off a miracle.
A buzz sounded from Kyle's phone, and his reaction made it clear that his mate had arrived. Nothing could go wrong now.
"I have to go. We'll talk about this later," Kyle said as he shifted his attention to where he was going.
With that, I decided to return to my chambers, get some hot gin in my system, and play some COD.
I returned to my room and went straight to the bar. Maggie's attempts to seduce me had really done a number on me this time. It was as if she got hotter with every attempt.
The gin made me jerk my head back as the entire world spun for me. I cursed as the gin ran through my system and settled hard into my chest.
"Good stuff right there," I said to myself.
I turned on my Playstation console using the joystick and waited for the system to load. My mind went back to Kyle, and I smiled to myself. The lucky bastard! He would get an earful from me in the morning.
A sound came from inside, making me jump up from the couch. I listened for a while in silence but heard nothing. I eased up a little as the TV screen lit up with images.
"Relax dude. It's nothing," I breathed out.
Just as I grabbed the joystick, another sound came from the bathroom. My wolf growled. It was a sound meant to be a warning to whoever was there.
There was someone else in the house with me. The hairs on my flesh stood up.
I moved with extreme caution to the bathroom door. My whole body was rigid with energy and an alertness that was scary.
The doorknob felt warm as I turned it. Inside, the shower was on, and there was the silhouette of a body visible against the glass door. My tension eased up, and curiosity and confusion took over.
The shower went off as the person inside paused. The figure said something, but it was muffled. I knew whatever I said in response would be muffled too, so I tapped the glass instead.
She came out with a towel wrapped around her delicate form. Her pale blue eyes reminded me of a stormy night's sky and the blue haze of a distant dream.
"Where did you come from?" I asked, gaping at her.
She pointed back at the bathroom. "There, I guess."
I chuckled as I ruffled my blonde hair in an awkward gesture. Her hair was as dark as shadows.
"Why do I feel like I know you?" I paused, taking a good look at her.
As odd as it was, there was something familiar about her. I couldn't put my finger on it.
"I feel the same way," she admitted with a smile.
There was a certain inexplicable comfort I got from her scent, a feeling I'd never experienced before. She was both familiar and strange to me at the same time. I felt a pull towards her that was too strong to resist, and I didn't want to fight it. I let my body take over.
Her lips parted as if to warn me not to take another step. I reached her, and the magnetic pull between us tripled. Without thinking, I grabbed her and our lips met. She welcomed me, drawing from my core with her moist lips. Our hands moved as we ravished our bodies, and she moaned a silent whisper.
Her body pressed against mine, making my wolf howl in confirmation. She was my mate!
There were so many questions I wanted to ask, but my head was spinning too fast to accommodate thoughts.
The front door opened, and I turned around to see a furious Oma. She looked like she was going to take off my head with a battle ax. That was when I understood what I had just done.
"Fuck!" I thought, letting the reality of my current situation sink in.
"You shouldn't be here, Yara," Oma said, grabbing hold of the girl's arm and yanking her. "Let's go."
She gave me a death stare as she pulled the confused girl away.
My head felt like it was going to explode any minute as I made my way back to the couch, wobbling.
I had just kissed Kyle's long-lost mate!
Mauris POV. The warm glow of the setting sun bathed our cozy cottage as Yara and I stepped through the front door, our hearts brimming with joy. We had just returned from witnessing the union of our beloved sister, Maggie, to the man she truly loved. The air was filled with an electric energy, a tangible reminder of the love and happiness that had enveloped the castle.
