-Intro-

My name is Ruby Rue Rothwell. My father is an esteemed head warrior of the pack. He's not just any wolf; he is a chosen warrior wolf, the rarest and most potent. His impressive fighting skills command both fear and respect from North American packs. Yet, to me, he is my goofy dad—the best father in the world, always ready with a dad joke and a warm smile.

My mom, Gloria, is truly remarkable. Though I am not her biological daughter, she loves me wholeheartedly and spoils me as if I were her own. I lost my birth mother during childbirth, and when I was just two years old, my dad found a second-chance mate. She had a five-year-old son, Tatum—Tate, as we affectionately call him. He treats me like a genuine sister, and he is in rigorous training to become the pack's beta. The future alphas, his two best friends, chose him since the current beta has no sons of his own.

Our home is an expansive, elegant mansion painted in pristine white, surrounded by lush greenery and a peaceful landscape that feels like a world apart from the pack house. I have a best friend named Beth and a boyfriend, Ael, and together, we share endless laughter and unforgettable memories.

My Sixteenth Birthday

As dawn broke, I awoke excited. Today marked my sixteenth birthday, the day I could finally find my mate. A mate isn't just someone special. It is an individual chosen by the Moon Goddess, a soul-tied connection that binds us together, allowing us to feel each other's emotions. This magical bond is something every werewolf dreams of experiencing, and my heart raced at the thought.

After a refreshing shower, I slipped into a long, grey, snug-fitting top with low-rise jeans. I brushed my hair, and put it into a messy bun and made my way downstairs. The delicious aroma of pancakes wafting through the air as I descended the stairs. I was greeted by the sight of my parents in the kitchen, both wearing hilariously oversized birthday hats. My mom held a beautifully decorated honey lemon cake.

"Happy birthday, little Rue!" they shouted in unison, their faces beaming joyfully. I closed my eyes briefly as I blew out the candles, making a heartfelt wish for my boyfriend Ael to be my fated mate. After a lively breakfast filled with laughter and joy, I grabbed my bag, and left the house with a cheerful goodbye and kisses to my doting parents.

As I stepped onto the veranda, I spotted Tate returning from his training. His athletic frame glistened with sweat, warm brown eyes bright with enthusiasm as he saw me. He was with his girlfriend, Cindy—tall, with cascading blonde hair and a pretty, at least in her own mind.

Her cousin, Begonia, flanked them, equally tall and with luxurious black wavy hair that framed her pretty face. She had a slim but curvaceous figure. The girls glared at me. I could feel their disdain, a feeling I had come to expect. Their animosity toward me was a mystery I couldn't quite unravel. They treated me like dirt whenever my family was not by my side, but Cindy's forced friendliness masked their true feelings when they were. My family dismissed my concerns, believing I was merely jealous of Cindy's attention from Tate, which was far from the truth. This bitch!

"Happy birthday, my little Rue," Tate greeted, reaching for a hug. I wrinkled my nose in disgust at the idea of his sweaty embrace.

"You're all sweaty from training; don't hug me!" I protested, but he ignored my objections and pulled me into a bear hug, swinging me around with joyful energy.

"Let her go, Tate," Cindy interjected, her sweet tone hiding a venomous glare directed at me.

"Happy birthday, acne Rue." The jab cut deeper than she realized. I had acne on my face, and wore glasses, they automatically deemed me ugly. Their relentless judgment had engraved itself into my self-esteem. I tried covering it up with foundation, but it often worsened things. Still, I resolved to act as though it didn't bother me.

" Cindy!" Tate growled, giving her a warning look to stop.

"Your little jabs are getting old. Can't you spice it up?" I challenged, forcing a smile that didn't quite mask my discomfort.

"You know it's just jokes, but those braces need to go, girl," she retorted, a smug smile on her face.

"Well, then you should work on your delivery," I shot back, standing my ground. Cindy was about to answer but Tate glanced at her, and she shut up.

"Tate, can we go to the alpha's mansion to hang out with the twins?" Begonia asked, making me roll my eyes. She clung to Tate and Cindy, hoping to get closer to the alpha twins, Hayes and Zylon Hawthorne. They were both eighteen, but they had made it clear they weren't ready to choose a Luna yet; they were still "playing the field," as they put it.

I, too, had a secret crush on the alpha twins like many girls in the pack, but their interests always leaned toward stunning girls far from me—so I settled for admiring them from a distance.

"I'm off to the mall with my friends. Bye, Tate," I waved, eager to escape the awkward tension, and went to the garage.

I climbed into my 2019 Volkswagen Beetle convertible—a polished cream beauty I received for my fifteenth birthday. Its sleek design caught the sunlight as I turned the key in the ignition, ready for a fun day.

The mall was a whirlwind of laughter and joy as Ael, Beth, and I roamed the stores, enjoying the vibrant atmosphere. However, things took a turn when we realized that Aro and I were not fated mates. Despite dating for a year and yearning for that connection, we weighed the truth with heavy hearts and chose to end our relationship, both of us determined to find our true mates.

Driving home, I braced myself for the cocktail party at Luna Cynthia's, a gathering my parents insisted I attend.

"You'll wear a dress," my wolf, Ria, chimed in, her excitement apparent despite my own dread. Dresses were not my style, but such a significant event warranted one.

As I prepared for the party, I slipped into a stunning yellow backless satin dress with a daring split thigh designed by my mom. It clung to my body and glowed under the soft lighting of our home.

When I stepped downstairs to meet my parents, their expressions were filled with awe.

"Please wear dresses more often. You look absolutely amazing!" my mom exclaimed, her face lighting up with pride. My dad smiled, his eyes sparkling with approval.

We headed out my heart racing, anticipating what the evening might bring.

The alpha's mansion was as intimidating as ever, towering and extravagant. As the long driveway stretched, my heart raced with anticipation. The air was alive with laughter, the clinking of glasses, and the soft strains of classical piano music. Opulent chandeliers cast a warm glow over the intricately painted walls adorned with portraits, and elegant furniture.

While my parents quickly engaged with old friends, I lingered at the side, but then a delicious scent filled the air, making Ria, my wolf, perk up with excitement.

“Mouthwatering,” she whispered, signaling that my mate was nearby. The realization that my birthday could hold this kind of fortune sent a thrill through me. Guided by the intoxicating aroma, I ventured down a dimly lit hallway, where I see the alpha twins, Hayes and Zylon, leaning up against the wall in deep in conversation. They were breathtaking, with their elegant sculpted features and athletic builds. Zylon’s mid-length blonde hair complemented his impaling blue eyes, while Hayes’s short tousled black hair framed a captivating gaze that pulled me in.

‘Mate,’ Ria declared, her excitement undeniable. My eyes widened in shock when I realized the irresistible scent was coming from one of them... or both!

The chattering all died down, and everyone turned to the alphas. Their heated gaze was on me, and I held it. Murmurs and whispers went through the room.Zylon smiled slightly, his smile alone putting everyone at ease. He had that effect on everyone. Zylon was rational and had angel-like beauty, while Hayes was devilishly handsome. " Alpha Henry of Jade Moon Pack, you're here. Welcome," he said, but his words were labored. I looped my arm in Kyle's and moved closer to my friend. I noticed his gaze fell on that, and he smiled, strained as though his smiling muscles were protesting." Thank you, alphas, for having us in your pack," Henry said. It was the law that another alpha had to ask for permission when they visited a foreign territory. The two alpha twins eyes were void of emotions. They shook Henry's hand and Kyle. " You are here, hugging Ruby Rue Rothswell," Hayes snickered, glancing at me. I frowned, and his eyes flashed. " Yes, I am, Alpha. Rue is special to me__ to us," Henr

" Ruby?" I closed my eyes and turned to face him, gathering all my strength. I schooled my face and heart to be cold, " What?" Dick. I want to add but don't because he is still my alpha. " What are you doing here?" he asked. " None of your business. Why did you call me," " Can we talk?" " I already told Miss Maggie that my brother will accept my father's award, not me," I informed sternly. My father was receiving humanitarian and military awards presented by the alphas tonight. " You know that's not it," his voice was soft. I shrug, " I don't want to speak with you about anything," " We are mates," " And you made it clear where you stand in that bond, and I accepted that. Leave me alone, asshole," I responded and entered the cafe. I tried to take my mind off Zylon, but his face and sad eyes rushed to the front of my mind. He looked so bleak. Well, everything about him has always been melancholy. Ael and Beth walked into the cafe. I smiled, standing up to hug them. To my s

My heart pounded against my chest, but slowly, I opened the balcony door carefully, jumped down, and in a second, I was standing in the spot where I thought I saw golden eyes watching me. I stilled and listened. I wasn't alone. There was someone here. I turned abruptly to catch red eyes a few trees from where I was. " I know there's someone here," I scanned the tall trees with my eyes. My wolf was alarmed, ready to shift if anything. I could sense the danger. Heavy breathing, I heard it, and then a russle of leaves. I turned and ran behind a tree, but there was nothing. I heard loud chatter and chuckles, and I recognized them. " Rue, what are you doing in the woods so late at night?" I turned and faced my brother and his group of friends. The boys wore shorts, their muscled upper bodies were bare, their eight packs were exposed, and the girls only wore shirts. They had gone for a night run in their wolf forms. " Rue!" Tate snapped his fingers in my face. I glanced at him, " What?

I nodded and went to the closet with my grandma to pack my bags. I packed light since I wouldn't be staying there for a long time. Henry and Kyle looked devastated to see me leave, but they promised they'd visit me soon. They each hugged me tightly and opened the car door for me. Lamar and Beth called to check on me during my car ride to the Onxy Moon pack. We have kept in touch these five years, and we are still good friends. When my family came to visit me monthly, they did too. " How dear feel deary," My grandpop asks. " I'm sad," " You'll be alright. Your Dad is in a better place, reunited with your mom," he said with a smile. I nodded; he was right. He was with Mom now. As we approached the pack gates, anticipation bubbled in my stomach, and I felt nervous. I had to remind myself that I was no longer weak constantly. I wouldn't let anyone bully me or talk down on me. I was a warrior wolf, my father's true daughter. ' Hayes and Zylon will be there. They are alphas of the pac

  • The Alpha Twins; My Mates    The Jade Moon Pack

Five years later. Coming to Jade Moon Pack was the best decision I ever made, even though it was hard initially. My parents and Tate disapproved, but my grandmother convinced them to let me stay, and I talked to them every day. My grandmother, at 5'1'', was a sweet but mean woman. She had a thing that made people do as she wanted; while my grandfather was almost two feet taller than her and muscular, he was soft and gentle. I entered the kitchen where Grandma was making her famous delicious cupcakes. My grandpa was reading a paper while watching and chatting with her. " Hi, Pop," I kissed the back of his head and walked over to the island to pick an apple from the table. " Good morning, sweetheart," he smiled at me.My grandma turned from the cooker, " Breakfast is almost ready; don't leave without eating again," she gave me a stern look. " I'll eat later. I'm late for training, Granny. Bye," I ran out before she could protest. I dashed out of the house and jogged to the training

  • The Alpha Twins; My Mates   Leaving For Good

They gaped at me in shock, their beautiful faces contorting into scowls as reality sank in—I was a mate to one of them. Hayes and Zylon, the alpha twins, didn't just dislike me, they often taunted me, calling me ugly, and mean names. Their cruel laughter still echoed in my mind. "Mate," I whispered, my voice trembling as my fingers fidgeted at my sides. Hayes was the first to emerge from his stupor, a devilish smirk spreading across his lips, making my skin crawl with unease. "We share a mate, brother," he said, his rough pitch voice oozing contempt as he stalked toward me. Every step of his was swift and graceful yet heavy with menace. Zylon remained rooted in place, his piercing blue eyes, usually so cold, locked onto me. I could have sworn there was a flicker of sadness in them, a haunting contrast to the disdainful expressions of his brother. Without warning, Hayes connected his grip on my shoulder, his nails digging painfully into my skin, and shoved me against the cold, unyiel
