Aria’s POV…..

They made me scrub floors that reeked of old iron and vinegar, until my knuckles bled and my palms were raw. The servants — pale, hollow-eyed women and men who moved like ghosts — watched me with a mixture of scorn and pity. They dressed me in plain rough wool and braided my white hair into a tight rope that tugged at my scalp. My hands shook the first time the basin slipped from my fingers; the metal clanged against stone and I swallowed my shame.

The Evil King had decided something petty that morning: a lesson in humility for the Luna of the Royal Pack. He told the guards to bring me broken — and they had obliged. He wanted me small. He wanted me to know that when his fist closed, the whole world bent.

The kitchen was the worst of it. Heat and smoke clawed at my lungs, and every step tugged at the wound in my thigh where a rogue’s blade had sliced me. They gave me a cracked wooden spoon and set me to stirring a cauldron of broth so thin it might as well have been water

  • The Alpha king and the Hunt   Chapter Eighty: Telling Louis

Aria’s POV I didn’t go to my room after leaving Kaelen.I couldn’t.If I stayed alone too long, I would think—too much, too deeply, too dangerously—and my tears were already close to spilling again. My chest felt tight, my throat felt raw, and every breath came with the weight of the secret lodged beneath my ribs.Selene was quiet now, perhaps giving me space. But the silence only made my mind louder. My feet carried me almost unconsciously through the hallways, past the training ground, past the mess hall, past the warriors organizing supplies.Straight to the temporary housing where Louis—was staying. Her door was slightly open.I knocked once.“Come in,” she called.I pushed the door wider and stepped inside.Louis was braiding her long brown hair, her daughter—the little baby Aria—sleeping peacefully on her lap. The older woman looked up, saw my face, and immediately stood.“Aria.” Her voice softened—shockingly gentle from someone so hard-edged. “What happened? Are you hurt?”Tha

  • The Alpha king and the Hunt   Chapter seventy nine: The darkness within her

Aria’s POV ……I woke up choking.Air slammed into my lungs like I had been drowning. My eyes flew open and the world reeled—spinning, twisting—my heart thundering so violently I swore it might burst. My skin was clammy. My nightgown was stuck to my back, drenched. I clutched the sheets, gasping as the dream snapped back into my memory, flashing in bright, vicious pieces:Serena’s smile. Her shadowed eyes. The cold, gleaming shard. The force of it driving deep—straight into my stomach.I lurched out of bed.And vomited.Violently.My body convulsed as bile burned my throat. I clung to the edge of the wooden chest at the foot of the bed, knees shaking so hard I could barely stay upright. Another wave hit, and I retched again, tears spilling from my eyes.Great. Wonderful. Just what I needed. When I finally stopped, my entire body trembled. My breathing turned shallow. My chest tightened—not from nausea, but from something else. Something I didn’t understand.Selene’s voice came softly,

  • The Alpha king and the Hunt   Chapter seventy eight: The Nightmare Queen

ARIA’S POV….The moment I lay back in my bed, exhaustion dragged me into darkness so fast I barely had time to breathe. And then the dream began. Not gently. Not softly. It pulled me.Dragged me.Tore me from the comfort of blankets and dropped me into a world carved from dread. The air around me shimmered with shifting shadows, the sky bruised purple and black. The ground was wet, slick, reflecting moonlight in broken shards. A forest grew around me—twisted trees with branches like claws. Fog curled around my ankles.A voice whispered like silk dragging across skin.“Well, well… look who finally fell asleep.”My blood went cold.I spun. And out of the darkness stepped Serena. She looked… wrong. Her eyes weren’t the eyes of a former packmate. They were burning red, as if the evil king had poured hellfire into her veins. Her face was thinner, crueler, smirking with a confidence that made bile rise in my throat. Her hair flowed like black ink, moving in a wind that didn’t exist. She cla

  • The Alpha king and the Hunt   Chapter seventy seven: A little reunion

Aria ……..I leave the party and go to the chambers, I see kaelen is sitting on the bed and he's watching me with such intensity, my heart flutters. My feet drag me to Kaelen of their own accord. They push me up on my toes, and I’m kissing him as intensely as I can, too much pressure too fast,my arms looped tight around his neck like a noose. He doesn’t immediately respond, but After a beat his hands close around my waist, trapping me between him and the wall, deepening the contact. “I've missed you, wife” he says His erection brushes against my stomach and we both gasp.My hands travel down, pulling up his shirt and exposing a strip of warm skin. There is a couch right behind us, but Kaelen flips me around until my front is pressed to the wall, forehead and forearm flush against it“Slow down,” he commands, mouth sucking on my neck, a large hand splaying over the center of my back. My heart flutters. In the slipperiness of this moment, it’s exactly what I need to hear. He's Pre

  • The Alpha king and the Hunt   chapter seventy six: Teasing Louis

ARIA’S POV The celebration glowed like a living thing—warm lights strung across the courtyard, wolves dancing barefoot, music thundering through the ground until even the stones vibrated. The whole pack was alive, pulsing with relief and joy after so many long, brutal weeks. But despite the energy, my eyes stayed fixed on one sight:Damien and Louis… standing under the ancient willow… holding little baby Aria between them like she was the moon cradled between two mountains. My chest squeezed.Damien looked soft—almost painfully soft—as he watched Louis adjust the baby’s blanket. Louis, meanwhile, was fussing like an overprotective mother hen disguised in warrior muscle.I bit my lip, hiding my smile. They looked so… domestic. And honestly? It was adorable.Kaelen stepped up beside me, brushing his arm against mine. “You’re staring.”“I’m observing,” I corrected smugly. “There’s a difference.”He chuckled, low. “You mean you’re plotting something.”I didn’t answer. Because I was absol

  • The Alpha king and the Hunt   Chapter seventy five: Caught in the quiet

Louis’s POV…….The celebration was already in full swing by the time I stepped back into the courtyard.Music. Laughter. Lanterns glowing like fireflies. Wolves dancing, drinking, and howling at the sky. It was warm, alive, everything this pack had been starving for.But all the noise only made me feel… strange.Unsteady.Because I wasn’t part of this pack. Not truly. Not yet. I was a guest, an outsider, a wandering Alpha with a baby strapped to my chest and far too many ghosts buried in my heart.I adjusted the carrier holding my daughter—little Aria, sleeping soundly, her tiny fist curled against my collarbone. The soft weight of her kept me steady. Without her, I would’ve drifted from the world long ago.“Louis?”I turned at the familiar voice.Damien stood behind me, half-shadowed by lantern light. His dark hair fell messily across his forehead, his shirt slightly undone from the heat and movement of the evening. He looked tired… but softer than usual. But then again, that softnes
