Lisa's POV

Werewolves?

Those hideous creatures.

Those creatures that see us, humans beneath them. The Mayor of Oxford said we could coexist as equals but everyone knows quite well that it was just a blatant lie.

Hell no. Carrying a child for one of them is like a death sentence. And not just an ordinary werewolf—it was an Alpha. A fucking Alpha.

I have read too many books about them to know their power hierarchy. I know that the Alpha is like the highest level of authority, just like a president.

And not just any Alpha. It was Alpha. Ronan. Stormrider.

The name rang through my mind like a lightning strike. Everyone in Oxford knew who Ronan was—feared, cold, untouchable Alpha. But this? His sperm? Inside me?

At the age of ten, I watched my parents being ripped apart by them and that was the reason why I had to grow up in the orphanage. For years, I was traumatised by the horrific scene and had managed to avoid them..... until now.

Dr. Marlow's hands on my hand brought me back from my reverie. "Are you okay?" She asked, her voice laced with genuine concern.

I didn't answer her. I couldn't answer. I could only stare at her for a long moment as I tried so hard to find my voice. "How.... did it happen?" I finally asked, my voice trembling slightly.

"He had his samples stored here for medical reasons but there was a tagging error during the thawing process and we only realised the mistake this morning," she explained.

I swallowed hard, my voice barely audible. “Is this even legal?”

“We’re already launching an internal investigation. You are, of course, free to take legal actions against the hospital… but you must decide if you would still want to keep the baby or simply go for an abortion."

"Abortion," I repeated, pressing my sweaty palms together as I remembered the surgeon warning over a month ago. "I can't have an abortion. I had a severe complication last month and the doctor told me that i would lose my life if I have any abortion."

"Oh......" She pressed her lips together. "I guess you'd be keeping it then." She let out a tired groan. "Even Alpha Ronan won't take it easy with the hospital."

I let out a deep sigh as frustration and confusion swirled inside me. This wasn't my plan at all. My plan was to have a child of my own, away from any man's knowledge, raise her peacefully but now......

"I'm so sorry, Miss Lisa," she said gently, squeezing my hands reassuringly from across the table. You can—" Before she could finish her statement, her office door swung open.

A tall man dressed in black suit stepped inside and I didn't miss the way the doctor's face was drained of colour immediately. She stood up abruptly, tensed and trembling slightly. "Beta Damon......"

Then another man stepped into the doorway. He was the finest man I have ever seen in my entire life.  He had a chiseled jawline, piercing silver eyes, tousled dark hair, and he had an aura that sucked the air from the room. His black Tom Ford suit screamed wealth and power.

His silver eyes landed on me briefly—it seems like it was piercing into my very soul and for a moment I forgot how to breathe, how to think. I quickly looked away.

He took off his eyes, his focus now on Dr. Marlow.

"Alpha Ronan....." She managed, forcing a smile.

Oh... He's Alpha Ronan. The one whose child is growing inside me. No wonder she was so terrified. I haven't seen him before but I have heard about him and how he destroyed anyone who crosses him.

He shut the door behind him and stepped inside just a few steps away, his presence towering over me as I sat down twisting my fingers nervously.

"I came here for a checkup," he began, his voice cold yet melodic. "But I can smell my pup around." he shoved his hands deep in his pocket and then stared down at me. "Is she the surrogate?"

Pup. That means he could smell his child and I shouldn't be surprised given that werewolves are known for their heightened smell sense.

Dr. Marlow didn't reply immediately.

"Dr. Marlow?"

"Yes.... No, no," she stammered. "I'm afraid she is not the surrogate, Alpha Ronan," she said, her voice surprisingly steady.

"Then who is she?" He asked sharply. "And why is she carrying my child?"

Dr. Marlow offered him a seat, which he reluctantly took and began explaining everything to him. I was quiet all through, my mind spinning.

"Unbelievable." He slammed his fists on the desk, standing abruptly. "How can you make such a reckless mistake?" He groaned, and I saw the way his silver eyes turned dark with anger, sending a chill through my spine.

The tension in the room was palpable. "Damon, get my lawyers on board. I'm suing this hospital."

"Right away, Alpha," Damon replied, walking outside immediately.

"Alpha....." Dr Marlow started but soon stopped talking. She looked really scared, tears forming at the corners of her eyes and I knew I had to interfere.

I breathe in and out, trying to calm.my nerves before speaking. "Alpha Ronan," I said quietly, "I'm Lisa and I think we should talk about this amicably."

"Amicably? How, Miss Lisa? I'd like to hear your suggestions."

I didn't respond because I haven't really thought about a solution either.

He continued. "The only thing you can do for me now is to get an abortion done."

My eyes snapped up at him for the first time ever. "Abortion?" My stomach twisted. "Why?"

"Because I'm not going to have a child growing up without my care," he snapped. I want to raise my heir. A child who will take my throne.”

I was amazed at where my courage came from. I stood up, facing him squarely. "Well... sorry to disappoint you, Alpha Ronan. I won't be getting an abortion, so I suggest you come up with something else."

The silence in the room was almost deafening.

Then a smirk spread across his face. He sat back, crossing his legs. "Then we get married, human. I needed a wife anyways. How about a contract marriage until the child is born?"

{Ronan’s POV}“Just one issue after the other.” I cursed.Too much had happened in the span of a few days. I sat behind my desk, staring at the open report in front of me, but my mind refused to settle on the words. My eyes traced the sentences again and again, yet none of it mattered as much as the thought clawing at the back of my head. Still, the report mocked me with its presence.Lucien had threatened Mrs. Jocelyn. He had forced her hand to take Selena back into her employment. The statement was there in ink, a testimony from one of my sources inside her office. It should have been the only thing I thought about, but it was not.The real threat pressed harder than anything else. The mole. The one who had betrayed me, who had left cracks in my walls and given my enemies too much room to move. Always keeping them a step ahead. And even when I was the one in the lead. The universe itself seemed to mess things up.‘What could it be?’ I groaned.I leaned back in my chair and pressed m

{Lena’s POV}Today has just been one bad event after the other. The pounding in my skull, coupled with the pit in my stomach, equalled a stunning quality of anger no amount of pacing or drinking could numb.“ARGHHHHG!” I screamed as I toppled over my dresser, just to stub my toe.The day had been long, the meetings I attended unbearable, and every report I had received ended with the same aggravating truth. Lucien had used me. He had smiled, whispered promises, and kept me close only so I could serve as a convenient pawn in his grand game against Ronan… And worse, he had been hiding things. His plots, his alliances, his secrets. They were all crafted without me. As though I were some unstable partner he could only work with when it suited him.My hands curled into fists as I stared out of my apartment window, contemplating whether smashing it would be worth it or not. The city lights twinkled below, ignorant to the rage that coiled within me.‘Why. Why. Why.’ I questioned. I had been

{Lucien’s POV}‘The things I do to take down that bastard.’‘Why do I even have to deal with this?’ I ask myself. Oh yes, I remember… ‘It'll all be worth it when I no longer have to deal with the issue of him being… well, alive. And that's why I have to interview this idiot. Tsk.’Her scent was still heavy with fear when they left her in the chair across. It had been amusing at first, but I do not take such hate lightly. Resentment is a beautiful thing afterall.I studied her for a long moment, letting the silence drag her further into unease. I had to set the mood after dropping my initial question. And now I was sure she was ready to listen to what I had to say? The real fun would begin. She fidgeted, eyes darting around the barren room like a trapped animal. Finally, I leaned forward, resting my elbows on the desk between us.Then I asked. “How much do you know about our world?”Her brow knitted. “Our world? You mean the world of billionaires? The power games, the deals, the social

{Selena’s POV}‘Ughhh.’ I groaned as I woke to the blinding whiteness of hospital walls and the smell of disinfectant so strong it made my head spin.My throat felt extremely dry, and my temples throbbed… but the first thing I noticed was Bryan seated beside me. His jaw was clenched, his tie loosened as though he had had a worse day than I did… either that or he had been pacing for hours.“You’re awake,” he said, his voice carrying more than a little exhaustion. Relief flickered across his face, only to vanish behind frustration. “Do you have any idea what you’ve done?”But to me it sounded like he said. “Do you know how worried I was?”I was already prepared to unload all my burdens on him… but everything seemed a little hazy for some reason.I blinked, struggling to find my bearings. “What happened?”“You crashed into a tree,” he snapped. “You swerved off the road like an idiot. Knocked yourself out cold. What the hell were you thinking? Were you trying to kill yourself because of m

{Lisa’s POV}Ronan’s body towered before me, half human and half beast when the bullet bounced harmlessly away. Leaving nothing but an impression on his skin.My heart still lurched as if I had been the one shot. I leapt to him, my hands running over his chest as if searching for a wound that was never there.“Are you alright?” My voice cracked under the weight of the moment.“I am fine,” he said, his tone steady, though I caught the fury burning behind it. Then he tilted his head to study me. “Are you?”I nodded quickly. My hands refused to let go of him, clinging as if the instant I released him the nightmare would replay itself.“Calm down. It'll take more than a bullet to take me.” He practically gloated.Only he could make such a major event seem completely irrelevant.Minutes passed before Damon appeared at the estate gates. His gaze took in the scene in a single sweep, landing on Selena’s unconscious body. Ronan spoke without hesitation. “Take care of her. Make it look like not

  • The Alpha’s Accidental Surrogate    Chapter 151

{Selena’s POV}“Fired…” The news shattered me.My mind felt like a cushion filled with pins. “How?” I was fired. Fired from Red Loom, the one place where I had finally eclipsed Lisa. Fired because of her, because of that smug little princess who thought walking in with her new money and husband meant she owned the world. The words rang in my head as I stood in the center of the design floor. Whispers swirled around me, staff shifting uneasily as if my very presence burned them now. A week ago, they fawned, laughed at my jokes, begged for my approval. Today their faces were masks, eyes darting away, mouths shut. No one dared side with me in my downfall. Their silence was a slap, one I would not forget.I slammed the door behind me, heels clicking like gunfire down the hallway, fury vibrating through every step. My pride was bruised, but my ambition refused to die. They wanted me out. Fine. But I was not finished. Not by far.“You'll regret this!” I screamed, barely concealing the storm
