Chapter 18

*Rurac*

I had my head bowed low and fingers clenched when a familiar scent filled my nostrils. I looked up in confusion and followed the scent trying to find where it was coming from. I could never mistake that scent, the scent of roses in the summertime.

I quickly got out of the dining room and out of the living room onto the garden outside. I tracked the scent out to the side of the house and found Rona, the sly witch I had spoken to over the phone about an hour ago, and next to her was Alyssa.

"Rurac" Alyssa quickly rushed over to my side and embraced me lovingly. She seemed to have missed me quite a lot and my knowledge of that filled my heart with immense happiness even in this situation. My happiness was reflected on my face as I smiled brightly.

"Hey baby, where's my hug?" Rona acted like a spoiled little kitten and I couldn't help but chuckle out loud before gesturing for her to come and I embraced her tightly.

"But how is Alyssa here? How'd you find her?" I asked as I got out
