“Giulia!” The voice called my name once more.
I walked towards the door and pulled it on. A girl a bit younger than me stood with her fingers curled into a fist and her hand above her head. On seeing me, she dropped it and straightened her dress with her hands. She walked in but I stepped to the side, blocking her. The lady was dressed in a uniform that I guessed to be a maids uniform. She wore a long flowing gown with a white apron and a frilly white headpiece. “You’re okay?” The lady wasn’t afraid to hide her tone. Her tone held disgust, confusion, disappointment and a little bit of fear underneath it. Her eyebrows creased as she scanned me from head to toe. I jerked my head back, scrunching my nose and creasing my eyebrows. I blinked. Did Giulia let everyone talk to her like that? “Are you okay?” I deflected the question back at her. I deliberately let anger seep into my tone. She looked back at me. She stared at me. I didn’t change my expression, instead I leaned forward. “Are you okay?” I repeated, making sure my tone dripped with anger. She was fazed. She had probably never witnessed Giulia speaking to her like this. Slowly and forcefully, she let her lips spread into a smile. “I’m fine,” she answered, against her will. “Do you have any reason for being here?” I questioned. Although I was hated on repeatedly, I never let anyone walk over me like that. It didn’t happen in my pack and it wouldn’t happen here. I o be seen as a completely different person but I could blame my sudden change of character to my sickness. To be honest, I had enough of people treating me like shit. In this pack, I wasn’t the unidentified rogue’s daughter, I was a soon-to-be Luna. “I just wanted to confirm If you were truly alive,” the maid answered. “Did you want me dead?” I questioned. “Yes,” On realization, her eyes grew wide and she immediately spewed out a frantic “No”. I was shocked but I was a little amused. The way she couldn’t meet my eyes and stammered, trying to find a possibly explanation for her answer was funny. It made me wonder was the maid one of Giulia’s enemies? How many enemies did Giulia have? And why did they hate her? “I-I didn’t m-mean it,” she ended her explanation and i simply laughed. She let out a forced laugh. “I was joking with you, I know you wouldn’t want me dead,” I told her. “Right?” I leaned closer, searching her eyes. I had a plain expression on my face, trying to tell her I was different than who she once knew but in a subtle manner. She parted her lips to speak but no words came out. She sealed them and resorted in nodding. I smiled. She stared at me in confusion. I took a step forward and then another. She backed up at every step I made until she was outside the room. “Now then, if you have nothing more to say, leave”. She blinked. I almost laughed at how in awe she was. I bet she was going to spread as much rumors as possible. “You all can remind me your names tomorrow, I can’t seem to remember them because of my anesthesia but right now, I have to go to bed, it’s been a long day,” I told her with a smile before shutting the door. I leaned against the door and sighed. This was going to be my life. It was so surreal. I’m no longer a rogue’s daughter, I’m a soon-to-be Luna on a mission. The night went as quick as it came and the maid from yesterday returned to my room. She wore a similar outfit but a shorter one this time. I didn’t think anything of it and let her in my room. I had taken my bath and gotten dressed. I wasn’t aware of any birthmarks that Giulia had so she didn’t want to out herself half a day into her mission. “You have to try on your wedding dress today,” The maid who I learned that her name was Mariam informed me. My eyes grew wide as the words slipped from my lips. “Wedding dress?” “Yes. Your wedding dress,” she confirms. I was still in shock. This wasn’t my life so it wasn’t easy to keep track, especially when I became her few hours ago. “You were meant to get married to Alpha Cohen three days from now and today is when you try on your dress,” she explains. “Oh,” I nodded, trying to sound like I understood the piece of information she gave me. Silence. My breath came in pants and my mind began to spiral. I knew they were engaged but I didn’t know their wedding was this close. I escaped getting married to someone I barely knew but here I was getting myself entangled in a similar situation. “Are you okay?” Miriam asked . I turned my head swiftly to face her. I nodded, “I’m good”. I couldn’t act unfazed. I forced a smile. “Shall we?” I asked. She nodded. I walked out of the room and she closed it behind me. I waited for her to walk in front of me and followed her. We didn’t seem to be heading out of the building so I asked, “Where are we going?” “You usually meet Alpha Cohen first before starting your day,” she informed me. Really? “Is it something I had to do or chose to do?” I questioned. “You enjoyed meeting him, you barely ever got to meet him because he is always busy and this is the only time he’s available,” she explained. There was something in her tone as she spoke that didn’t sit right with me. She seemed a little enthusiastic and the way she spoke was as though she was referring to herself. Was she really talking about Giulia or herself?“My maid and I were merely passing through,” I said, returning her practiced smile. “I had no intention o interrupting your work”.Caleb’s face paled. “Oh, my lady, it would be no interruption at all! We would be devastated to watch you leave. It-it was a mistake, truly!”I allowed a small pause before shaking my head. “I have suddenly lost the interest today or any other day. if you do want me to shop from you, send someone to the house, I would be happy to happy to do business with you then”.“Ma’am!” Miriam yelled.I shot her a glare and she sealed her lips, lowering her head. With a curt command, I said, “Let’s leave!” I turned and headed towards the car.Miriam hesitated. “If you want to stay here, that’s your business,” I tell her as I pull the door open and get in. She scrambled towards the door, reaching for the handle and pulling it open. She quickly got in.I ordered the driver to take us back to the house. I looked towards the window. My eyes never left the w
I had seen the reactions of multiple women who were furious after being turned away from a prestigious boutique. i had thought it was quite funny but here I was trying to be like them. I wasn’t going to go all out and yell but I would –in the most subtle way possible- make them beg me.It’s either that no one recognized Giulia as the fiancée of Cohen or thought she wasn’t important. I knew they wouldn’t treat Cohen in such manner. No one would treat anyone who has power such away. No one would ever turn them down. I’ll like to believe no one knew who Giulia was because she didn’t come out much. Not looking away from Miriam, I commented, “Wow, is this how they treat their customers”. Miriam stared at me in confusion. “I suggest we leave”.I disregarded what she said and asked her, “Would you remind me of my full name?”She blinked, startled. “Ma’am?”“My name,” I repeated, lifting up my chin. “Say it.”Miriam hesitated, then, with a nervous glance toward the boutique, she lower
Was she really talking about Giulia or herself?I didn’t question it and let it be.I was going to stop the act of visiting him after today. If Giulia truly took few minutes from her busy schedule to see him, why couldn’t he do that for her? I’ve learnt that if you give someone your time and heart, they would take it for granted. It was clear he didn’t love her and It was clear she loved him but I wasn’t her.We arrived at his bedroom door in minutes. “This doesn’t look like his office,” I turned to face her.“It’s his bedroom door, you usually met him here but he eventually got bored and tired of your meetings so he stopped answering but you insisted we do this, it was more of a morning ritual to you,” she explained.Everything seemed fishy. From her change of outfits to her tone then her explanation. Everything sounded stupid, to be honest but I obliged. She stepped aside. I walked to the bedroom door and knocked. i heard groans then footsteps approach the door. I heard

Dead fiancée? is that what this was about? He walked further into the light. He was tall and broad-shouldered. He had a black hair that was tousled, as if he had just run his fingers through it. A light stubble graced his sharp jawline. My eyes dropped to his simple black long sleeved shirt that clung to his toned frame and dark jeans that hung low on his hips. The first two buttons of his shirt was unbuttoned, revealing a hint of skin. His collar was still in place but his sleeves were pulled up to his elbows. Around his neck was a string with a single wolf’s fang that rested against his chest, reminding me who he truly was.I wondered how I would get myself out of this.My eyes moved back to his face. His eyes were similar to the boy’s portrait that hung in the hallway. It was a very dark brown, so dark you wouldn’t realize it was even brown and his forever resting creasing eyebrows didn’t help either.“Empty,” I said in a whisper.“What?” He questioned. It was only now that he stoo
The car stopped. The voices I had been stuck with had stopped as well. I heard various noises then a thud, followed by the fading sound of footsteps until nothing.I didn’t waste another second. My head spun as the air grew heavier around me. The cramped, stuffy space was practically stealing my air. I gasped, trying to take in as much air as possible as my head swayed. Darkness surrounded me, strange objects poked at my feet and back, and the lack of fresh air made my chest tighten. My vision blurred.I shook my head, stretching my hand frantically through the darkness. I had to get out. I had no idea how long I had been in here but it was long enough to steal my breath away. My fingers brushed around the trunk’s edges. My fingers graze against a small plastic button and with trembling hands, I tapped on it. The trunk clicks open and it raises a bit, letting light seeped in. Air gushed it and I gulped it.I reached for the roof of the trunk, pushing it higher. I looked around and luc
