"I think there's something beneath us."

As though confirming my words, the knocks returned. Now that we stood in the center of the room, we could hear it radiating from the floor.

Only this time, it was getting weaker by each second when it suddenly disappeared, clawing the nerves that fumbled through my senses.

Something's not right.

What could it be? Adding to the fact that it resounded below the ground, how can that possibly be?

Could there be an unknown basement underneath the house?

I've lived in this house for 20 years, surely I would've noticed if there were peculiar things happening over the years. Right?

Though, I couldn't deny that I spent most of my time in my room, away from mom's sight. It was actually easier for those matters to slip by my attention.
