Kiana's Pov;

The morning sun shone brightly through the curtains of Maddox's bedroom. The smell of his cologne clung to my body as I lay lazily on the bed.

Maddox had made it clear what happened between us last night was just one of his regular mistakes.

But deep down we both knew that was the biggest lie ever, because mistakes don't happen multiple times like that.

As I stretched and yawned, a sharp knock at the door jolted me upright, my heart skipping a beat.

“Who's there?” I asked, in a most sincere tone.

Then an old woman who looked almost in her 60’s wearing a maid uniform and holding a serving tray with food on it entered.

She smiled softly and placed the tray beside me on the bed.”Good morning Miss, Sir Maddox ordered this for you.”She muttered politely then turned and left.

Wow, this was so unlike him. Breakfast in bed? This is new, is it because I actually yelled at him last night telling him how he makes me feel?Or is this his way of telling me he's sorry?

Well, whatever…I've forgiven him already because he's always bitter to me anyways.

I couldn't deny the food either, just looking at it makes me hungry.

And so I freshen up quickly, get dressed and eat breakfast before leaving for school.

The moment I reached the main entrance hall of the school, I spotted Maddox. He was seated among his friends and the girl I hated the most–Ciara. She's the reason behind Maddox's coldness towards me.

She was always glued to him with the excuse of being his assistant Prefect. But we both knew she was more than that, and most importantly always his first option.

I didn't even bother to look at their direction, I lowered my head and walked past them.

For a second,I thought Maddox would notice me or even call me, but he didn't. Probably because all his attention was definitely on Ciara.

When I finally reached my classroom, I slid into a seat and waited quietly for my friend Christabel. I texted her while in the car, and she told me to wait there for her.

Scrolling through my phone to pass the time, a folded piece of paper suddenly smacked the back of my head.

I frowned and whipped around. Ofcourse, it was them. The arrogant, rich girls who always made my life hell… all thanks to Maddox.

“What do you want now?” I snapped, standing to face them.

“Oh my god, the queen is annoyed,” Tiana, their leader, cooed, mock-hurt, her broad smile making it worse. The others erupted into laughter.

“How’s life treating you after getting rejected by the boy you wanted so badly?” she added, feigning concern.

“Better than yours. Excuse me.” I tried to brush past them, but Tiana shoved me to the floor. And they all began laughing again.

Just as I opened my mouth to speak a deep raspy voice came through behind me.” Enjoying the scene, Tiana?”

I turned swiftly to check who that was and froze. It was Mordred Sinclair, the baddest boy on campus. He was popularly known for being a bike racer and the leader of the gangster students in the school who think they own the school.

Rumors painted him as the devil..but God help me, he was the kind of devil girls would willingly sell their souls to.

He possesses sexy hazel eyes with dark styled messy hair, cherry red lips, smooth skin and the most adorable dimple that comes with a perfect face.

He smirked vividly at me as he walked towards me. Then he offered his hand and helped me stand from the floor.

“Are you okay?” He whispered softly to me, his gaze locked on Tiana–who was a bit shy with her hands fidgeting at her sides now.

“Are you going to apologize or I should make you Titi, hmmm perhaps I should just tell your dear boyfriend where you were yesterday evening.” he muttered playfully, a faint smile tugging at the corner of his lips.

“Er, S–Sorry.”she muttered in an unsure tone.

“This should be the last time you'll ever bully her..or else, you'll have to deal with me too. Now leave.”he muttered under his breath, staring at her dead in the eye.

She obeyed and walked quietly past us, followed by her friends who looked surprised like me.

Because, I never imagined someone like Mordred would ever save me from being bullied. But anyways I couldn't afford to remain silent.

“Thank you so much Mordred, I really appreciate it.” I muttered, voice barely above a whisper.

I was looking at everything except for meeting his eyes. Because goddamn it, those eyes were mesmerizing and hypnotic.

He leaned in dramatically with a smirk as his dimples showed cutely on his cheeks.”I'd prefer a better gratitude than a thank you.” he murmured, letting the scent of his cologne hover between us.

I arched my brow, amused by his approach because if Maddox happened to see the two of us standing here right now…it would turn into a scene for him and a punishment for me.

“And how exactly do you want me to show my gratitude?” I asked, giving him a polite smile.

“Start by telling me your name then ask me what I want.” He whispered into my ear.

Oh, so just because of these little good deeds he did for me. He needs a favour from it? Indeed the devil never gifts for free.

“Alright, I'm Kianna Martin and what do you want me to do for you sir?” I replied jokingly.

“Nice name, I will think about what I want and let you know. Have a good day.” He uttered, then gave me a smile before leaving.

Great, now I owe the whole Mordred Sinclair. Kianna, your life is indeed something else.

Just as he left.. Maddox entered, followed by my friend Christabel. The moment he appeared my chest tightened and my pulse went wild as if I had just seen a ghost.

“Kiki!, I've really missed you girlie.” Christabel muttered cheerfully and gave me a hug.

“Same, glad you're okay now.” I replied, glaring at Maddox who stood beside her with his arms folded and face unreadable.

“Bel, can you please excuse Kiki and I for a second?” He asked Christabel. She nodded silently and went outside.

“Since you are the only one in here, were you the one keeping Mordred Sinclair company here?” He asked, grabbing my arms tightly.”Answer me!”

“ Of course not, he came here looking for someone.” I replied avoiding his eyes and trying not to stutter.

His expression went dark immediately, then tightened his grip making that area he's holding sting painfully.

“It better be the truth, because if I hear any rumor about you two…you should consider yourself dead. Do I make myself clear!” he barked.

“Yes, aww.. you're hurting me Maddox.” I responded, trying to free myself from him.

But he stared at me for a moment before releasing me. Then he turned and left without another word.

Sometimes it's hard to understand him, one time he's telling me how much he doesn't want me in his life–the next,he's being overly possessive over me. It's hard to distinguish between his love and his anger and that was one thing that always scared me about him.

Besides all this, my wolf cannot resist his existence near me…I can't fight it and that alone makes me know how weak a woman can be when they're fated to someone.

My chest tightened until it felt like a hand was squeezing the life out of me. My throat burned, eyes stung, but no tears came, only a hollow ache that spread through every bone. I pressed a fist against my ribs as if I could hold myself together.

Why always me, why should it be me? Don't I deserve to be happy too? Then why is my destiny so hard to cope with?

I settled on one of the desks and tried to cool myself down. And whispered to myself,

“Everything will be okay after the matting ceremony…Maddox will be mine once and for all and I will try my best to make him love me..even if I have to endure all of this in the meantime.”

I spent the rest of my day making sure not to mingle with any boy or even glance their way, because it seems Maddox has people who give him information about me all the time.

The moment I stepped inside my dorm after school, my phone pinged. It was a message from an unknown number.

“Hello kia, save my number…it's your debt owner Mordy.”

Oh Lord help me, Mordred has my number? How did he get it ? Because I don't recall giving it to him.

Just then someone knocked on my door roughly and multiple times. My heart thudded, who might that be ? And what does he or she want?

Kianna’s POVI woke to the buzz of my phone on the nightstand, Lesley still snoring softly across the room. My eyes were a bit swollen from all the crying I did last night. Then the screen of my phone lit up like a flare: “FORUM ALERT!! Anonymous had made a new post.My stomach dropped before I even opened it.The post was made at exactly 6:47 am this morning. My mouth was open mid-scream and the angle was perfect—wide and high, from the sculpture-studio roof cam. The clip had already racked up thousands of views and hundreds of comments. Most of them were definitely judging me.Some says;“She used him then dumped him in the rain.Classic.” “Lysander’s a scholarship kid, how does he afford the heartbreak?” “Mordre

Kianna's Pov:The rain started the moment I stepped out of the gallery, a cold, sudden downpour that soaked through my hoodie in seconds. I didn’t run, I couldn’t. The portrait Lysander had drawn for me was still clutched in my arms against my chest, the paper had already started warping under the water. I stared at it, at the soft charcoal eyes he’d given me, and felt something inside crack wide open.I had gone back for it despite Mordred's words. No matter what, it was a gift made for me and so I needed to keep it. But when I went for it, he wasn't there, he left it at the center where I had left him hanging after his desperate confession. As I walked through the rain in search of him, only one thing was on my mind. A plea, something that will cool down my temper and release me of this doubt.Lysander had done so much for me, but I can't deny the fact that everything Mordred had said earlier with evidence made sense.Even if he was part of all this, what is his excuse? What woul

  • The Alpha's Claim, The Biker's Desire    Stuck between love and Friendship

The art gallery door slammed behind me as I bolted out, Lysander's voice calling my name fading into the wind. "Kianna, wait!" But I didn't stop, I couldn't. The text from Mordred burned in my pocket like a live wire: “Urgent. Stop whatever you're doing and meet me at the school entrance. Now.”My sneakers pounded the pavement, the campus blurring past in a haze of gray skies and scattered leaves. Lysander's confession echoed in my head, “I like you more than friends”—his hand on my wrist and the portrait staring back at me with eyes that saw too much. I wanted to tell him that he deserves someone more stable than I am, someone whose world doesn't feel like a curse but a blessing. But Mordred's urgent message had pulled me away like always. He's going to be okay right? I hope he'll understand the fact that I was worried for Mordred and needed to see him urgently. The urge of something which felt like guilt clinged to my skin like goosebumps.I never wanted to choose sides but now

Kianna's Pov:The drive back to the dorm felt like it stretched on forever, the city lights blurring into streaks through the rain-spattered windows of Lysander's car. Lesley sat in the back, wrapped in a borrowed jacket from one of Mordred's guys, her head resting against the seat as she stared out into the night. She hadn't said much since we'd left Mordred's place, just quiet thank-yous and shaky breaths. I kept stealing glances at her in the rearview, my chest tight with a panic I couldn't shake. What if she never recovered from this? What if the nightmares stuck, turning my bubbly roommate into someone haunted? It was my fault, my tangled life pulled her into the crossfire. How many more people would get hurt because of me? All this thought piled up in my mind throughout the ride, I didn't even realize how long it took to get to the dorm.Lysander pulled into the parking lot, killing the engine with a sigh. "I'll walk you up," he said, his voice steady despite the exhaustio

  • The Alpha's Claim, The Biker's Desire    The Price of Defeat

Maddox's Pov:The first thing I felt was the pain, white-hot and everywhere, like my body had been fed through a meat grinder and spat out wrong. My wrist throbbed in its cast, a dull, relentless drumbeat that matched the pulse in my swollen jaw. Every breath pulled at cracked ribs; every twitch sent fire through my bruised organs. I tried to sit up and the room spun with fluorescent lights stabbing into my skull. I'm at the hospital, offcourse. The sterile smell of antiseptic and bleach hit me next, followed by the low hum of machines and the distant murmur of voices.Trent was in the bed beside mine, his face a purple mess of bruises and bandages with one eye swollen shut. He looked smaller than I remembered, like the beating had deflated him. Kylie sat on a plastic chair between us, legs crossed, scrolling her phone with the kind of calm that only sociopaths can fake. A detective in a cheap suit stood at the foot of my bed, flanked by two police men who looked bored out of t

  • The Alpha's Claim, The Biker's Desire    The One I waited for

Kianna's Pov:The safe house felt like a cage—too quiet and too dim. The air in here was thick with the scent of gun oil and stale coffee that Mordred always left brewing. Lysander and I had raced here after that horrifying video call from Maddox, my heart was pounding the whole way with visions of Lesley bound and terrified against the chair, flashing like nightmares. Lysander had driven, his good hand gripping the wheel tight with his face set in that determined mask he wore when things got bad. "We'll wait here," he'd said, as if Mordred's place was neutral ground. But nothing felt neutral anymore—not after seeing Mordred tied up, bloodied but defiant, in that grainy feed.We paced the living room, the clock ticking like a bomb. Lysander leaned against the wall, his bandaged arm slung across his chest, eyes flicking to his phone every few seconds. "He'll be fine," he muttered, more to himself than me. "Guy's built like a tank."I nodded, but my stomach twisted. And when Mordr
