An old woman stepped forward, and Derek looked a bit confused. He kept exchanging glances with Fighter, who also appeared equally confused.

“You are to get in the pyramid and go on your knees,” the old woman said in a wimpish manner.

“Both of us?” Derek asked, glancing at everyone whose eyes were on them. The old woman nodded and tried standing upright.

Fighter looked at Derek again, and they gave each other silent consent with a nod. Derek took the first step and walked into the pyramid they had drawn on the ground.

“Make sure you don’t break the cycle with your legs,” Noah warned, and Derek nodded.

He finally reached the center of the shape and turned to look at Fighter, who followed and did exactly what Derek had done.

“Both of you, on your knees,” the old woman requested, and they both knelt. At some point, Derek felt kneeling in front of everyone was a sign of slavery, but he dismissed the thought and allowed the people to proceed.

There was a knock on the door. Ashley heard it from inside her room. She rushed to get it because Thomas had gone out.She opened the door and was shocked to see who was standing there.“I’m Tony. I haven’t officially introduced myself,” he said and stretched his hand out to her.“Mr. Tony! I’m so happy to see you. Please, come in,” she said after shaking his hand. She stepped aside, and he walked into the house.“Please, sit,” she said, gesturing to the couch. He nodded, and she sat on the opposite couch.“I know I shouldn’t have come to your house like this, but I changed my mind. You need my help, and I’d love to help,” he revealed, and she nodded happily.“I’m so happy to see you—so happy you'd love to help me. Where do we start from?” she asked eagerly.“What have you been doing since you came to my house? Have you been researching werewolves? Their weaknesses?” he asked, and she nodded, standing up.“Yes! I wrote some things down. I’ll be right back,” she said, running up the st

“Voicemails and messages?” Fighter uttered, and Derek looked at him.“Same here, dude. She must have been so worried,” he said, putting a call through to her. He didn’t even bother listening to the voicemails first or checking the messages. It began to ring, and he started pacing on the hill.“Oh my God, Derek, what happened? Your line has been unreachable,” Ashley said immediately she answered the phone.“I’m so sorry, baby. I had to go somewhere with Fighter, and the service was the worst I’ve ever seen. I’m really sorry,” he said sadly, and she went silent all of a sudden.“Hey… are you okay?” Derek asked.“I was worried, Derek. So worried. And so was Maggie. She said Fighter was supposed to come home today, but he isn’t back yet. Where did you go? You should’ve at least told us before leaving,” Ashley said, and Derek sighed.“I’m sorry, okay? I’m really sorry. I’ll explain better when I get back, alright? I can’t talk much right now,” he said, and Ashley exhaled.“When are you com

Noah began to run—he was ahead of Fighter. He kept running and jumping, noticing that Fighter couldn’t do as much of what he did, but his speed increased. They got closer to the pack and saw Derek standing not too far from where the houses were, observing from a distance. Some of the women were making dinner, and Enoch was helping out with the firewood."You like what you see?" Noah suddenly said behind him. Derek had already put on his clothes and returned to human form."I don’t know if I like what I see… welcome," Derek said, looking at Fighter, who was busy getting dressed. He held his clothes in his hands as he ran."Thank you," Fighter responded without looking at Derek—he wanted to deal with the fact that he had been naked first."So he did change, huh?" Derek asked Noah, and Noah smiled."He’s different. He didn’t change completely. He’s a half-shapeshifter. They’re very rare," Noah explained, and Derek furrowed his brows, looking at Fighter again."Very rare? That’s a good th

The boys walked into the woods, just as Noah had told them to. They weren’t sure where they were going; they just kept walking, using their great sense of smell. “Isn’t he supposed to show up now? Before we keep going deeper and deeper?” Fighter asked, and Derek shrugged. “He is the almighty Alpha, right? He should be able to find us. If he doesn’t come to us today, we know he isn’t the one we should look up to at all,” Derek responded, and Fighter nodded in agreement.Noah sprang to his feet immediately as he perceived and sensed Derek from afar. Pricilla furrowed her brows at him, wondering why he did that. “Are you fine?” she asked worriedly. “He is in the woods,” Noah uttered, wearing his shoes. “Who is in the woods? Collins?” she further inquired, and he shook his head. “Derek… I’m sure he is in the woods because he is here to join us. I need to get to him now,” Noah told her, and before she could say more, he was out of the house already.Enoch was around the house, choppi

  • The Alpha's Human Mate   Sweet beginning

“So… we’re a couple now?” Maggie asked Fighter, and he smiled, nodding reluctantly.“We just confessed how we feel about each other and even ended it with an amazing kiss. I think that should be the beginning of something,” Fighter responded, and Maggie looked—and felt—so happy. She had never been happier her whole life. She finally got what she wanted.“I’m so happy. I’m so happy you’re giving us a chance,” Maggie said, holding his hand and staring at it.“I’m happy that you’re mine,” he responded, and suddenly, his phone vibrated.“Can I check that?” he asked, and Maggie smiled.“Of course you can. This is a relationship, not an invisible prison,” she stated, and Fighter laughed. He pulled out his phone to check the message. It happened to be from Derek.“Hey!! It’s been three hours. Are you alive??” he read silently and smiled widely, making Maggie smile too.“It’s Derek,” Fighter told her, and Maggie giggled, giving Fighter gentle strokes on his hair.“I guessed he’d be the one.
