Chapter Four

KAEL

"How dare you Williow, how dare you talk to me in such manner. Look at me! No! Look me in the eye!" At that point he was shaking and couldn't look at me, I could see fear in his eyes

"Have you forgotten who I am?" I asked with rage

"If anything happens to her, I'll first kill you then go for your mate and the little son you just had, so you better take care of her like you would care for me, now save her life before I think of what next to do, that's an order!"

Williow was terrified, of course, he knew the threats weren't empty so he got to work. He cleaned her up by applying medicated dressings then stitched up some parts afterwards. He then injected her with tetanus shot for infections.

"I've done my part, can I leave now because I don't want to be a part of this. Even your dad the Alpha will kill anyone that keeps a human. I don't even want to imagine the dangers attached to your actions right now, I'm leaving" Williow said

But just as he headed for the door, I grabbed him by the neck, my wolf already trying to take charge as I whispered to his ear, "No one must know about this Williow, I repeat! No one. If I were you, I would fear me more than I fear the Alpha now. Understood?"

He nodded his head and left immediately. "Do you think he would say anything?" Kane asked

"He can't, he doesn't have the balls, he is one of the weakest amongst us and that is why he isn't part of the warriors but rather he takes care of them after battles," I said with confidence 

I went back to check on Roselle, yes I already gave her a name, I couldn't wait for her to wake up and tell me what she was called. She laid down pretty on the couch like a fresh rose from the garden. 

Oh her smell, she smelled so good I couldn't leave her sight. I went closer, knelt beside the couch and started inhaling her. The peace I got within only gave me one hint, I think I have found my mate.

But could this be possible though? She is human and wolves don't end up with humans, we kill them. The last human that was sighted was killed by my late grandfather. 

Ending up with a human as your mate was a monstrosity that defied the beauty and nature of wolves.

But I couldn't let go of this human, I kept staring at her closed eyes and pink lips. No wolf has ever made me feel this way, even the women I slept with or had an affair with didn't bring me such peace.

"She's beautiful and we must protect her at all cost" Kane said

Kane had been quiet since Williow left the house, seems he has made up his mind about Roselle and we're both in this together. I let out a big smile after what he said, I'm not letting anyone touch her.

I'll protect her till I take my last breath. Since I lost Reggie I had always felt empty and it seemed like I had nothing else to live for but I guess I do now, Roselle is here and I will do anything for her.

I went to the car to get my phone, I remembered my parents were waiting and calling endlessly. 

"Dad I'm so sorry, I had car problems and I have been trying to fix it. I will be home soon"

"Are you sure you are okay? Should I get my men to come pick you up? Where are you" my dad asked

"I'm fine dad, I will be home soon, please tell mum to stay calm, I'm okay"

After talking to my parents, I went straight to the kitchen to wrap up something for Roselle, she would need to eat and take her medications when she wakes up.

I checked the fridge to make sure I had all the ingredients I needed for the meal, then I began to chop the veggies, put some liver and meat into a pot and placed it on the burner, added spices and little water to cook properly. 

I love cooking, it's one of my favourite things to do and I couldn’t wait to finish making my special Chinese rice for Roselle. While cooking I kept checking on her frequently to see if she was awake, but she was still fast asleep. 

"The private house is safe but I suggest we could make it even safer since she is here, we can build a fence around it" Kane suggested

"That's a great idea, I'll have to come with the truck tomorrow and some equipment for the fence".

Though the private house was surrounded by tall trees and bushes and was perfectly hidden but building a fence adds extra security to the house.

 There are also cameras around the house, the house was built when I turned 25 and I felt I needed like a hideout for I and my best friend. Somewhere we could spend time away from home and have fun. 

I have a whole lot of memories in here, memories I shared with Reggie, I'm still going to hunt the bastards that killed him. After I finish taking care of Roselle and making sure she's okay and safe, funny how I'm already fund of her even without having a conversation with her.

My food was ready, I turned off the burner and was headed to check if Roselle was awake and behold I saw the most beautiful eyes I'd ever seen, we stared at each other for some seconds and she started running and screaming like I was about to kill her. "Wait don't run! Stop!"

I caught her while she was trying to reach for the door, held her by her waist from behind and covered her mouth with my hands.
