The Search

Although Nikko knew that the pack would never accept her as one of them, he believed that their bond could be even stronger if they did. He refused to give up on his dream of a united family—and was determined to make it happen. However, it seemed like no matter what he tried the pack wouldn't let him!

They didn't want to be associated with a witch, and they certainly didn't want Nikko to be in love with one either. But Nikko had a plan. He knew that if he could get his pack to accept that he was in love with Sage, they would end up accepting her as one of their own. If they were all united, nothing could stop them from ruling the world. The only problem was that he couldn't force them to accept Sage. It had to be their choice and he would do whatever it took to make his pack see the light.

There were a lot of things that Nikko had to do, but he knew that the most important thing was to make Sage fit in. She was a witch, and they were lycans; there was no way around that. He needed Sage to understand how things worked with his pack so she could become accepted as one of them. It wasn't going to be easy, but if anyone could do it she could.

The question was...where would he find her? He knew that she was a witch and that it would be easy for her to hide from him, but Nikko wasn't going to let her get away. He needed Sage, and he was determined to find her no matter what it took.

Nikko was out of his mind with worry. He had spent the last two days searching for Sage and had found nothing. In fact, he hadn't even seen a witch since she had run off from him at the lake. Where could she have gone? It didn't seem likely that she would have returned to her coven after what happened between them; there was no way that they would forgive her for what she did.

Where could she have gone? It didn't seem likely that she would have returned to her coven after what happened between them; there was no way that they would forgive her for what she did. Nikko didn't realize that he had been walking aimlessly until he found himself standing at the edge of a cliff. He looked out into the distance and saw that there were no trees or buildings around him; just open space. It was times like these when Nikko felt the most alone in his life. He had never been without family or friends, but now he was all alone. He didn't know what to do with himself and felt as if he had no purpose. It wasn't until that moment that Nikko realized how much Sage had changed him. She had brought light into his darkness and made him feel like there was hope for happiness again.

Nikko felt tears begin to well in his eyes as he thought about Sage. He had only known her for a short time, but it was longer than any other girl he had ever been with. The connection between them was unlike anything he had ever experienced before and it made him feel like they were meant to be together. It was then that Nikko realized that Sage was the one. She had been sent from above to show him what true love felt like, and he would do anything for her. He wanted to be with her forever and make sure that no harm ever came to her again.

"I'll find you, my little witch. Just give me time." Nikko sniffed the air to try and catch a whiff of her sweet witch's scent, but there was no trace left behind. She must be using magic to cloak her presence from prying noses—and scatterbrained hunters like himself.

Nikko sniffed the ground, but so many other scents were competing for his attention that he could not tell which way Sage had gone. He stood there thinking about what to do next when suddenly something caught footprints in the dirt.

They were Sage's. Nikko followed the trail of prints, which led him straight to a small cottage in the woods. He looked around and saw nothing but trees for miles around. The scent of Sage was so strong that he knew she must be inside. Nikko walked up to the door and knocked.

There was no answer, and the lights were off. He tried the doorknob, and it turned easily. Nikko opened the door, stepped inside, and looked around. The cottage was small and tidy, with a single bed in one corner and a table by the window. But no sign of Sage.

"I must've just missed her," Nikko said to himself. He turned to leave, but then he noticed something on the floor. It was a piece of paper with Sage's handwriting on it. "Please don't come looking for me," it read in large letters. Below that were two more sentences: "I'm sorry for everything I've done."

This I cannot allow. Nikko was about to crumple the letter in his fist when he noticed something else: a single tear had fallen on Sage's writing. He felt his heart twist with pain, and he knew what he had to do.

He had to find Sage before anyone else found her. Nikko decided to look for Sage at the place where they first met. He knew it was a long shot, but he had nowhere else to go. He arrived at the park and saw that it was completely empty—no other people in sight. The sun was beginning to set over the horizon, and everything looked more peaceful than ever before. The sky's pinkish hue shimmered against Nikko's skin as he walked toward an area with trees and flowers.

A bright light flashed in the distance and he knew immediately that it was Sage using her powers to teleport away from him. Nikko ran toward the light, hoping that he would catch Sage before she disappeared. As he got closer to it, he could see that it was actually a bright object that looked like a large ball of fire. Nikko stopped running and stood in front of the fire as if he were hypnotized by its beauty. The ball of fire began to move toward him, and Nikko closed his eyes as it approached. He felt a warm sensation on his face that made him smile. When he opened his eyes, Sage was standing in front of him with her arms outstretched. "You came for me."
