After everything we’d been through, after Shadow Pack, after the revelations about my mother, it almost felt unreal that I was heading back to the place I had once feared, the place I was meant to stand beside Liam as his mate and crown princess. I stared out the window, tracing the familiar walls of the palace in the distance. The air smelled faintly of flowers blooming in the palace gardens, and I could see the guards moving in disciplined lines along the perimeter. Everything seemed perfect. Controlled. And yet, my stomach twisted with unease. “This is it,” Liam said quietly from the driver’s seat, breaking my thoughts. He reached over, his hand brushing mine. “Soon, everything changes.” I turned to him, smiling despite the knots in my stomach. “I know. I just… I want to be ready.” “You are,” he

A MESSAGE Escape wasn’t an option. I was too weak for that, and I knew it. If I wanted to survive, I had to find another solution and fast. I was still lost in thought when movement caught my attention. One of the girls Selene had imprisoned,Josephine had somehow slipped out of her cage and was trying to escape. Panic flared inside me. She was heading the wrong way. I tried to warn her, making small noises, anything to get her attention. But she didn’t hear me.
