It was almost dawn and Christain hadn't had any sleep. He had been searching for his fiancee with the help of his father and bodyguards, his eyes had many eye bags in them but he only wanted to find his fiancee.
They were presently searching the area close to the market where he had last spoken to her for the tenth time. "Miriam?""Miriam?" He yelled but got no reply.Christian couldn't help it as his eyes screeched as he burst out into cracks. "Son, are you okay?" His father asked putting a hand on his shoulders to calm him down but Christain chose that opportunity to bend his gaze down as his sob grew harder. "Take it, easy son. Nothing bad has happened to your fiance, she might have gone to a girl's night or something." His father said. "No, nooo father," Christian said, holding his hands in a fist. "I was on the phone with her when she began to scream for help but I did nothing, what would become of me If something bad happened to Miriam? Father, please help me find her, I won't be able to live without her in my life." Christian let out as he sobbed like a two-year-old who was denied his lollipop."Just relax, okay!" His father let out pulling him in a comforting hug. "Father, I can't relax knowing full well that Miriam can be in danger, I'm scared," Christian mumbled as he stared around still in search of his missing fiancee. "Why don't we check her residence, she might have gone home or something?" His father let out.*************The weather was chilly and the crackling noise from the wind could be heard as a red jeep pulled up at a deserted area. A man came down before looking around, when he was sure that there was no one around. He opened the back seat before pulling Miriam's body out. He tossed her on the filthy ground before shoving her deep into the area that had weeds grown awfully on them. He glared at her for a second before entering their car and zooming off. The day was bright as passersby gathered at a corner watching the body of Miriam. A plumpy man who could be classified as a farmer trudged towards her before placing his hands close to her neck. "She is alive, we better call the police or something." The man let out to the crowded people who instantly made some attempt to dial the emergency number. Meanwhile, Miriam's sister Eleanor and her friend Dorris had also had sleepless nights. Her sister wouldn't stop crying as Doris tried to calm her down "I'm so worried Doris. Miriam has never stayed out this late, I called you the instant she didn't get home early thinking she might have stopped at your place. She isn't even picking her phone up." Eleanor let out as her eyes and face were red and swollen from weeping. "Maybe she stopped by at Christains. She might have slept over because of the wedding preparation." Doris tried to reason. "I know Miriam, she would always call to say something at least." Eleanor smartly let out. "I don't know about you but I feel like something bad might have happened to Miriam, I feel we should contact the police because if she really was at Christain's place. He would have called but his phone hasn't been reachable either." Eleanor let out."Alright, if that would at least calm you down," Doris said but before they could leave for the police station, Christain and his concubines arrived. "Eleanor, is Miriam home at any chance?" He asked in anxiety. "Why, I thought she slept over at your place?" Eleanor let out. "No! I haven't talked to her since our last phone call. She hasn't been home since yesterday?" Christian asked with a wide eye. "No, where is she?" Eleanor let out as a hot trail of tears found their way down her cheeks. "I was talking to her on the phone yesterday night when she began to cry out for help. I thought she had gone home by any chance but it seemed she was maybe kidnapped." Christian let out. Eleanor almost lost consciousness at that little detail. "Doris, Christian, what would we do?" Eleanor asked in sob and panic. "Don't worry, I will do anything and everything to get her back," Christian assured. Christian instantly made communication with the Tv stations, radio company and magazineewspaper company to make an announcement that anybody who could find his fiance would be granted a huge sum of money. Eleanor was in Christian's house when the police arrived. "Good morning sir," The D.P.O of the police department greeted. "Good morning Romeo." Christain's father greeted gaining Christain and Eleanor's attention. "Any news about my sister?" Eleanor asked keenly. "I'm sorry but the kidnappers hadn't called," Romeo let out. "Huh?" Eleanor let out. "Kidnappers?" Christian let out stunned."Yes, I think we should wait for their call or something. Most cases they call for ransom." Romeo let out. "But why would they kidnap my sister when we have nothing to give them? We can't even pay off everything and they want a ransom?" Eleanor asked. "Your sister was recently featured in a magazine that she was going to get married to a governor's son. That is huge and people would want to use that for their own various benefits." Romeo said as his phone began to beep in his pocket."Excuse me for some second please," he let out, making everyone nod in understanding. He brought out his phone before hitting the answer button."Hello?" He answered to the other caller. "Where? Can you tell me the address?""Alright, thank you so much," Romeo said before hanging up. "Governor, I think we found someone who might be Miriam but we need to get to her first to be sure." He let out before excusing himself. It was noon when Christian and Eleanor rushed to the hospital! They noticed Romeo and his men talking to his father. "Where is my sister?" Eleanor asked."She is inside but there might be a little bit of an issue," Romeo let out his expression, not one to consider as good news. "What's the issue, just spill everything out and stop trying to scare the hell out of us." Christian yelled, his voice could be heard outside the building if not careful. "I'm very sorry sir but I don't know if you can handle what I'm about to tell you. Miriam must have been raped and molested by her kidnappers." Romeo let out as Eleanor crouched to the floor and began to weep hard.Miriam had gotten home to notice her sister and friend watching the news. "You are here Miriam," Doris said the moment she noticed her friend. "Hey," Eleanor simply said."I'm glad that you are home because Carlos has just been arrested by the police!" She blurted out while Miriam gaze was fixed to the television. Miriam's heart skipped a beat as she turned her attention to the television. The news anchor's voice filled the room, reporting on the arrest of Carlos, a name she recognized so well. The screen displayed footage of a man being led away in handcuffs by police officers."I honestly had no idea that he would be handcuffed in front of everybody," Miriam said, a little bit guilty. Miriam's voice trembled as she spoke, the weight of the situation sinking in. "Well, I think that's good. That way, other criminals like him would know exactly what would happen to them when they do similar things." Doris said with no remorse.Miriam nodded slowly, her mind racing with a mix of e

Meanwhile, Gina and her son walked inside the company, they discussed. "I thought that you weren't joining the press conference?" Gina questioned while she held her expensive purse tightly. Carlos looked up at her with a serious expression. "I just thought that it was best I keep myself busy because it takes my mind off Miriam." He replied. "By the way, regarding your court case. You don't have to worry about it because I promise to do everything for the court to dismiss your case, okay?" Gina told her son. Carlos nodded, a mixture of gratitude and worry on his face. "Thanks, Mom. I appreciate your support, but I can't shake off the feeling that things might not go as smoothly as we hope. The evidence against me seems pretty strong."Gina sighed and placed a reassuring hand on Carlos's shoulder. "I understand your concerns, Carlos. But we have a good legal team working on your case, and I trust that they'll do everything they can to prove your innocence. We'll fight this together,
After leaving Miriam's apartment, Carlos couldn't go back home. He had driven to the bar to drink his pains away.Carlos sat in his car with his friend, parked outside the bar, feeling a mix of emotions after leaving Miriam's apartment. He had hoped for a different outcome, but the conversation he had with his son had left him with a heavy heart. Unable to face the solitude of his empty home, he sought solace in the familiar comfort of the bar.As he stepped out of the car, the cool night air enveloped him, causing him to shiver slightly. With a deep sigh, he walked towards the entrance with Jeffrey beside him, the dimly lit sign above casting a faint glow on the pavement. The sound of laughter and music seeped through the door, a stark contrast to the somberness that weighed on his mind.Pushing open the heavy wooden door, Carlos entered the bar and was immediately greeted by a wave of noise and the scent of alcohol. The room was filled with customers engaged in energetic conversa
It was late at night but Carlos didn't mind as he drove to Miriam's apartment with his friend Jeffery tagging along. The streets were quiet and the city lights cast a dim glow on the deserted sidewalks."Carlos, hey, it's late!" Jeffery said the moment they arrived in front of Miriam's apartment."Miriam might think you are here to kidnap Henry!" Jeffery added and Carlos would have chuckled at his statement if things were alright. "I just want to see Henry and not cause trouble!" Carlos said. He glanced at Jeffery, who was looking slightly worried."I understand your concern, Jeffery," Carlos replied, trying to reassure his friend. "But you know how much Henry means to me." Carlos added.Jeffery nodded reluctantly, understanding the depth of Carlos's feelings for his son. "I get it, man. We can do this tomorrow. Why don't we go home and come back!" Jeffrey said.Carlos hesitated for a moment, torn between his eagerness to see his son and Jeffery's valid concerns. He knew Jeffery was
“Doris, please take care of Henry while I’m away. Okay!” Miriam said, grabbing her bag to leave the house.“Sure, I would make sure that he gets his bath,” Doris said but their little discussion was interrupted when Eleanor walked inside followed by Christian and the lawyer. “Miriam, you have got a guest,” Eleanor informed her sister before she could leave. “Miriam, Carlos had done something through a high source of justice!” Christian voiced.“And what’s that?” Miriam asked.“Based on everything that the lawyer had gotten from the court, it says that Carlos has already admitted the incident to you and that you have forgiven him before you even got married!” Christian voiced out and that had left Miriam’s mouth to hang open. “But that’s not true, he merely even told me that he was the one who had violated me. Oh my Goodness!” Miriam said, rubbing her forehead. “That’s a great defense!” Christian voiced out.“Your ex-husband is such a liar,” Doris said, wiggling her head in shame.
