Compassion

Just as they were about to pounce, the thief suddenly straightened up and turned around, his eyes wide with fear as he spotted the two formidable wolves closing in on him.

"Please, don't hurt me!" he pleaded, his voice trembling.

Leori and Adonis exchanged glances, both seeing the fear in the thief's eyes. They could sense that he was desperate and possibly driven to stealing out of necessity.

"We don't want to hurt you," Leori said in a calm voice. "But you must understand that you've trespassed into our territory. We cannot allow that."

The thief nodded frantically. "I know, I know. I didn't mean any harm. I was just looking for food."

Leori's expression softened slightly. "There are better ways to ask for help than stealing. If you were hungry, you could have come to us, and we would have provided for you."
