Amelia.
My eyes widened immediately I heard the words come out of the great Xavier's mouth, and my eyebrows narrowed quickly. I felt my palm sweat and I swallowed uneasily. My chest began the irresistible rhythm, while I watched Alpha Oliver protest against what his father had said. "No, Father!, you can't possibly say this." He protested, his face almost turning red. "You have marked her, haven't you? And you know what the tradition says." "And who cares about tradition that much, dad?" There was a brief silence in the room, as the Great Xavier stared deeply into his eyes, "you remember what happened the last time we went to war?" Alpha Oliver retracted immediately, his shoulders shoved down, and his eyes narrowed. I couldn't tell what the war was about or what might have happened, but I could tell that his father's words were like cold water which flooded down him. "Alright father. I'll do the rightful thing." There was a brief silence, followed by the mild smile on Oliver's lips. "I don't want to attract more of the moon goddess's curse." Oliver muttered. His father smiled widely, and now I was lost, wondering what curse they were talking about. His eyes lifted to me, and I shrugged. All these while I squirmed at the corner, avoiding to make any sounds, not even with my breaths. I felt calmer, when a warm smile carved over his lips again, "Welcome to our family, Amelia." His words were soft but my mind was blown away. What? The great Xavier doesn't despise me? The sweats on my palm increased, I robbed my hands over my dress, breath shutting down. I didn't know how to react, I couldn't even smile back. Alpha Oliver's eyes were stuck on me, attempting to devour me. When the Great Xavier realized that I was going to freeze if he didn't leave, he walked closer to where I was and tugged my shoulders gently. "Make yourself comfortable, you'll soon be Luna." His eyes blinked hastily, his lips still curled up. That would be the warmest smile I had seen all my life. I managed to nod, then finally he headed out of the door. That would have been a great time to exhale the whole air that had piled up my system, but Oliver was still in front of me. His dreaded eyes plastered on me. "Prepare for the party, tomorrow. " His voice croaked and he stormed out of the room. I sloughed over the seat immediately, trying to catch my breath back. II had never seen an eye so dreadful. I lifted the plates immediately, my legs moving to return the sandwich which the Alpha had abandoned, but I felt a strong pull into a very beautifully decorated room, with lots of strange smiles. "You need to look nothing but absolutely perfect for our Alpha. " One of the women said, before pushing me over to the bed. It was a queen sized bed. The decorations of the room screamed royalty. The sweet scent of the candle, the chandelier and the artworks were perfect enough to calm anyone. There were about 3 ladies in the room. I haven't seen them in my few stay in the pack, but with their dressing, I could tell they were prominent people in the palace. "What on earth is going on here?" I managed to ask, fighting the hands that held me, the others had started pulling off my clothes, while they wore me a very beautifully colored dress. It was a long yellow dress that screamed royalty. The jewelry flew over my neck, still no one cared to reply to me. "What on earth is going on here?" I howled, as everyone seemed to ignore, "You are going to be crowded Luna today." "But it's not today, the Alpha said..." "The Alpha later changed his mind." Oliver's voice trickled into the room, and suddenly, I felt my inside melt. He held my hands immediately, the women had all bowed to him and stood at the door. "I realized I couldn't wait to make you mine." He whispered, his lips kissing my cleavages. Drops of water caressed my under, and my stomach made a huge yearning. "Don't you think it's better?" He asked rhetorically, making a nod, for the women to go ahead with the dressing. Shortly, I was perfectly dressed and my makeup done. I walked into the arena, to go sit beside my Alpha, and I could feel the glory of the starmoon pack pour over me. The Great Xavier, the pack elders and some of the members of the pack, were in attendance. They all stood as I walked towards the throne. Their eyes on me in admiration. Shortly, after a brief process the crown was placed on my head, followed by a resounding applause. I couldn't even place my feelings. Everything was happening so fast. Alpha Oliver's gesture earlier on had miraculously calmed my nerves, at least I felt I accepted by him. But strangely, I turned to him, again, hoping he would hold my hands, that was what happened in ceremonies like this, but my chest tightened when he scoffed. "Don't lay your hands on me.""Y...you must be mistaking something." The great Xavier stammered, flashing a smile to the diviner."No, s...she can't possibly deceive us..."Now his eyes were fully on me, hard rampaging eyes, all eager to tear me apart."You brought us here for fun?"His voice thundered, threatening to bring down the trees around to the floor.I quickly sank my eyes to the floor as soon Oliver stood from his seat.Disgust sat on his face as he approached me.I knew I was in deep sh*t. I was such a fool for believing Sane.My heart hammered drastically, the next thing I felt was a hand cupping my jaw. Oliver lifted it up, causing my eyes to meet his. The most dreadful eyes."How dare you!"I gulped as the growl descended in my belle.Too ashamed to raise my eyes to meet his, because if not that I decided to be gullible, why would I ever listen to Sane. But if Sane was wrong, what then was happening with me?What happened the next fews seconds was swift, with the guards bounding me into the car.My
The rustling of the dry leaves intensified. The bird chirped clearly as we approached the central forest of the Starmoon pack. While my hands grew colder, my feet followed suit with each step.Oliver and his father, in company with the guards, were taking me to the central forest to meet the diviner.Since I claimed to have divine blood, it was time to prove it, and I better did.I released warm air into the atmosphere, anything to calm the tension that sat in my belle. The what ifs had come to taunt me again. What if all Sane said was false? I couldn't possibly bring the Alpha here for nothing, talk more of the great Xavier! My body quivered each time I caught a glimpse of him at the back. He looked so excited that finally there was hope, unlike Oliver who clearly had his doubts written all over his face. We'd advised the great Xavier to wait in the car since he was too old for the stress, but then, he wanted to witness everything. He wasn't even supposed to follow us here in the fi
"The pack lost in a war. That is the reason for the curse." His voice came slowly. Displaying various shades if emotions. His eyes narrowed down, it was almost like he was trying to avoid my gaze. I had never seen him appear so vulnerable before. "So, you-" "I'm going to love you, Amelia. No, I'm going to cherish you with every fiber of my being. No, I--I don't just have to say this, we have to put it into writing and the both parties to sign." I chuckled at the sound of that as I watched him motion his words, trying to make sure that I was convinced. Honestly I didn't see the need for that, I mean, he was the alpha and the least I expect from him was to keep to his words. The Alpha's keep to their words. But I was going to say the contrary. To sound serious of course. So, nodding my head sheepishly, I said, "I had it in mind that we're going to sign. At least the two parties will keep to the end of their bargain." I declared. Honestly, I couldn't help but feel the pri
Oliver held my hands tightly. He was robbing his large palms on it while his wide eyes steadied on me in mercy. This time, it didn't look like he thought I was joking.I could tell he knew I was serious. "Who told you I had a curse?"He asked calmly. All his wide eyes did was to plead with me never to lie to him.I pulled out from him immediately. If I was going to say what I know, I'd as well get something out of it.A lot of thoughts came to me as to what he should offer me before I speak, but only one stood out for me.The very thing I have longed for since the day I was crowned the Luna. No, I meant since the day I assumed this glorified position with no benefits. I cleared my throat as I started, his eyes pressed down on me in vulnerability. "Ever since I was crowned the Luna of this great pack,I have never enjoyed any benefits. I'm not even treated as one. The other day, you even instructed your guards to lock me up and ground me. Who does that to his Luna? Who does that to
"Is everything okay?"I asked as I followed him to the bathroom. Oliver leaned over the bathroom door by the time I stepped in. He was staring himself in the mirror with so much confusion written on his face. His eyes were still dark black and it didn't take me long to realize that I might be aware of what was going on.If what Sane told me was true, then that might be what was affecting the Alpha. But she had said I had absorbed his curse instead, so why was he still having strange transformations. My eyes quickly went through my body to see if scars might have started reappearing, but there was none, leaving me more confused. "I think-"I bit my lips. I was seriously thinking if I should tell him or would it cause me more trouble. My chest beat faster as I forced myself to make up my mind and come to a decision. While still thinking, Oliver's hands wrapped my waist. He bit his lips gently and pulled me closer to him."You know why I decided to ground you?"His words came, as hi
I heard a knock on my room before the door was opened almost immediately My eyes rose quickly to see whoever that would be at the door.It was just about an hour ago that one of the maids entered to drop off my meal.It was a plate of sandwich and dark chocolate. I had grinned lightly when the meal came.Dark chocolates were my favorite snack, although it was a weird coincidence that it was offered on a bad day like that.I remember I had never told anyone in the pack of my love for dark chocolates, so I found it very weird that they'd be served that day.Oliver walked into the room where he made the guards to ground me.That would be him coming in to check on me for the past twenty hours that I was in there with nobody to talk to.I scoffed at the sight of him, sinking back into the bed, I continued reading the magazine that kept me company all these while."Your ground time is over, Luna. I want you to dress sexy for me tonight. We'll be visiting one of my local clubs."His words
