Chapter 6

"Wait what?" I squealed as I grabbed Brody's arm to stop him before he opened the bedroom door. "Your parents?" I gushed worriedly. I had only just met Brody, I wasn't prepared to meet his parents yet. My mate's parents.

"Hey" he chuckled, slipping his hand under my chin and forcing my eyes up to meet him. "They'll love you" he laughed before he leant down and pecked my forehead before he moved away from me and opened the door.

"About time son." A man chuckled as he walked into the room, a woman followed close behind him. The man was tall and with Brody's dark hair and eyes, it was obvious he used to be an Alpha from the way he held himself. He wore a designer suit and tie. The woman had blonde cropped hair behind her ears with small blue eyes, she was tall for a woman. She was also stunning.

"Oh hello" the woman noticed me and gave an uneasy smile. "Do you mind if you leave us for a while? My son and I need to talk" she smiled awkwardly at me.

"No" Brody spoke up, slipping his arm around my waist and pulling me to his side. "She's my mate" he said proudly and the couple both gasped. I squirmed uncomfortably under their stares and cuddled further into Brody's side.

"I'm sorry sweetie" the woman smiled at me,

"I thought you were just Brody's current flavour of the month. He goes through girls very quickly" she explained.

"Judith" the man snapped at his wife as Brody glared at her. I felt my stomach churn in jealousy and I felt my eyes tearing up. I thought of Jessica and how she had said earlier that day, 'He is blinded at the moment by the mate bond, but when he finally sees sense he'll see what you're like'.

I began to worry that Brody would realise that I wasn't pretty or sexy like all the 'other girls' and that he would reject me as a mate. I knew I wasn't pretty enough to be with someone as good-looking as Brody. I had always hoped that my mate would have been average looking, then I wouldn't have felt so self-conscious being with them. But Brody was not even close to average.

"Baby not anymore" Brody said cupping my cheeks and bringing my face up to match him. "They were just girls to settle my needs, you're all I want. You're mine" he reassured me. "Believe me when I say they meant nothing to me. I've been waiting for you for years, baby" he said. I nodded, my eyes still glistening with tears.

"I didn't mean it like that" Brody's mother, Judith, gushed as Brody massaged circles into my hips. "I was shocked when I saw you. You're just not the kind of girl he usually goes for" she said. Her words didn't make me feel any better, in fact they made me feel worse. Brody would never have chosen me for a mate, I wasn't his 'type'.

"Not like that" Judith continued, tripping over her words. "I just meant that you seem classier than all the other girls" she rambled nervously.

"That's enough Judith" Brody's father snapped at his wife, who blushed deeply. "I apologise for my wife, she has a bit of foot-in-mouth-syndrome" he chuckled. "I am Charles" he smiled at me, offering his hand for me to shake. I did so, his grip was strong and firm. My hand was tiny in comparison to his.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Charles" I smiled back at him, "I'm Allison".

"The pleasure is all mine dear" he smiled, dropping my hand. "I did not realise my son had found his mate or I would not have interrupted you" he smirked and I blushed. "But as happy as I am for you both, Brody! I really do need to speak to you. It's urgent" he said stiffly.

"Of course let us go to my office." Brody said before he turned to me. "Wait in here, I'll be back in a bit sweetheart" he told me before he kissed my forehead and stepped away from me.

"It was lovely to meet you Allison" Charles said to me, "soon the four of us will have dinner and get to know one another" he said before they all left the room. I paused before I glanced around the room; my suitcase was on the bed. I opened it and began unpacking my clothes into Brody's drawers and closet.

I had finished packing away all my clothing fairly quickly, I didn't have much in the way of possessions. When you're a rogue on the run, you only pack the bare essentials. If you have anything in the form of a personal possession, that wasn't necessary for your survival, you were lucky or you were skilled in running.

The amount of times that Mason and I had to leave all our stuff behind, because a pack or a group of rogues had chased us out, was uncountable. So all I had in the way of clothing was a few pairs of jeans, some t-shirt, one jacket and two pairs of trainers. All of which fitted nicely into my over the shoulder black rucksack perfectly.

I wasn't really sure what to do next, unpacking had taken me the grand total of seven minutes; that included rearranging the hundreds of suits Brody had to fit my clothes in. After that I sighed heavily and threw myself onto the massive bed.

I grabbed the remote and began flicking through the television channels until I found something I wanted to watch. I stayed there for a few hours, watching movies and waiting for Brody. When the second movie I watched ended I got up and turned the television off. I wanted Brody with me, I wanted to know what he was doing.

I then decided to take a walk around the pack house, I remembered seeing a library when Brody had showed me around before. I found it easily enough and was glad to find it empty. I walked past the bookcases, running my fingers over the bindings as I did so.

I stopped on a book I wanted to read; Wuthering Heights, and pulled it out. I then sat down in the dark corner, leaning against the shelves and began to read. It had been a while since I had simply read, being on the run left little time for such luxuries. It felt nice to do something so mundane for a while.

I lost track of how long I was reading for, but it must have been a while. At the part where Edgar Linton begins to fall sick, I heard someone clear their throat. I jumped and looked up to see Brody leaning against the bookshelf; watching me with a smirk.

"Brody" I said as I rested my hand over my chest to show how he had scared me. He chuckled as I placed the book down. "How long have you been standing there?" I pouted at him.

"About ten minutes" he smiled.

"Why didn't you say anything? Make your presence known?"

"You looked so content" he chuckled as he stood up straight and moved towards me. He bent down and slipped his arms around me, he picked me up bridal style. I yelped in shock before he sat down where I had been and placed me across his lap.

"Plus like watching you" he whispered in my ear as I cuddled into him. "Mine" he muttered as I buried my face into his neck. "What were you reading?" he asked as his hands began to run up and down my side. I shivered at his soft touch.

"Wuthering Heights" I told him, inhaling his scent deeper as I closed my eyes; enjoying being with my mate.

"Listen baby about earlier" Brody said pulling me forward so I was looking into his dark eyes. "I promise you what I said was the truth. Those girls were nothing to me; I can barely remember most of their names. But you mean everything to me" he whispered and I smiled.

"You know I've never been with anyone before right?" I muttered as I blushed.

"Good," he smiled, "because you are mine, sweetheart," he added before he tilted my head up and buried his face into my neck and inhaled deeply. "I can't wait to make you mine." he added before kissing my skin softly. I gasped in shock, the tingles running up and down my body.

"Weren't you upset when you found out I was your mate?" I whispered to him, he snapped his head up so quickly that I had to grab onto him to steady myself.

"Baby, why would I be upset?" he asked gently, his voice full of seriousness. "You are all that I could hope for in a mate" he added, cupping my cheek..

"But I'm not pretty like all the others, or sexy, or 'your type" I whispered, a single tear spilling from my eye.

"Allison you are perfect" he told me, his thump reaching up and wiping away the tear.

"I'm nowhere near perfect".

"You're perfect to me" he whispered before he titled my head up and slammed his lips onto mine. I was shocked as electricity sparked through my body at his touch. I kissed him back quickly, his lips claiming mine in a soft but passionate way. His tongue traced my bottom lip, asking for entry to my mouth. I allowed it, and his tongue began exploring my mouth.

I had never had a kiss like it. It was as if that was the kiss I had been waiting for. The kiss that made butterflies flutter and fly in my stomach. The kiss that made my heart feel like it was going to pound out of my chest. The kiss that made me wish it became something more than a kiss. Brody wanted that too.

He squeezed my hips lightly before he lifted me and turned me slightly; still kissing me passionately. He set me down so I was straddling his lap before his arms went around me, ensuring me in place.

His lips then left mine and worked down my jaw until they reached my neck. I lost my breath slightly as he began to shower my neck with kisses, his teeth grazing the skin ever so slightly. I slipped my arms around his neck, trying to get ever closer to him. It was impossible; we were as close as possible.

Brody's hand began to travel before they landed on my rear. I gasped again as he used his grip to make me rock into him and brush against the hard bulge that was now visible through his jeans. I got what he was trying to do and began to grind against him. He growled as his lips began to make their way up to mine again.

As soon as his tongue was inside my mouth I moaned loudly; my entire body consumed with the need for Brody. The noise made Brody growl again, the vibrations of the sound against my lips and causing me to shiver.
