Chapter 1: Running Away

Anastasia's POV

I was too careful to hold the bowl of soup in my hand to offer to my mother. She was sitting on the couch and waiting for me to serve her. A deep breath escape from my mouth before I called her. 

“Here, mother. Your soup was here.” I muttered and give it to her. She just looked at me with her blank eyes and focus her attention back on the bowl.

“Here, clean my feet!” She motioned me and which made me bite my bottom lips. I kneel in front of her and started cleaning her toes. Not just a while ago, I suddenly get up from kneeling when I heard her cuss. 

“Damn! It doesn't taste good!” I bite my upper lips and my heart beating so fast out of nervousness. She suddenly got up from sitting and went near me. My mother pushes me which made my butt hit the floor and caused me to grimace in pain. 

It hurts.

“You're still an idiot, huh! Here, you better sleep with your damn foods!?” She screamed and throw the bowl of soup in my direction. I'm grateful because it wasn't hit when she threw it. Pain just hit me because of what she did, and tears already fell to my eyes. She already left and that's when I started crying.

The main corridor of our house filled with my sobs after my mother throw the food I cooked earlier. She disliked the taste, and I kept from scolding myself. Knowing my mother, she used to be mad with me, and she used to hurt me with every simple mistake I made. 

“Oh? What are you still doing here? You better start working!” She screams with her gritted teeth and which made my body shiver. I cannot be able to move my legs when they got strained of the way she pushed me earlier. It still hurts, but I have to move not unless she started beating me again. 

“Y…yes, mother,” I mumbled in my stuttering tone and start picking up the broken pieces of plates to the floor. My mother suddenly speak which almost made me fall to the ground. 

“Tomorrow, I'll make sure to sell you. You're being useless in this house.” She mumbled and turn her body away from me. I still can't digest everything that she said, and I left no other choice, but to cry in pain. She's been like that since then, and I couldn't handle it anymore. My life was in living hell here and I have to escape in here. I'll be turning 18 soon and my wolf would about to come out. Once it happens, I will escape from here, from the hands of my mother. 

“Be strong, Anastasia, you can do it,” I uttered to myself and just keep doing my work regardless of the time of the night. It's as if I already forgot the time. Well, I'm working so hard even at the midnight. My mother kept disturbing me, and she won't stop maltreating me. I've been enduring all the pains I've got from her because I love her despite all the maltreatment I received. 

I was currently walking in here and passed her bedroom. My mother was talking to the other line and something pushes me to stop to listen to their conversation. 

“Don't worry, she's fresh and still a virgin. I will sell her for two hundred dollars. You can pick her up by tomorrow.” Those words I've heard from her shattered my heart. She's serious about what she said earlier, and I can't believe it. My mother is selling me. The thing that I'm holding suddenly slipped from my hands, which makes it fall to the ground and create a sound. “What the hell was that!?” My mother mumbled in an angry tone and walk to where the sound came from. 

“Mother, is it true? You're selling me just for two hundred dollars?” I asked her and my mother gritted her teeth. 

“Stop complaining, will you! Don't stop me with my plans because you're so useless! Can't you see? I'm not needing a woman like you!?” She muttered, and tears gradually fell to my eyes again after hearing those painful words from her mouth. 

“I can't believe in this, mother. You sell me just for money and this is so horrible.” I mumbled between my sobs and my mother suddenly pull my hair which caused me to grimace in pain. She's pulling my hair and it hurts. 

“You can't do anything to stop me. Remember that I don't even like your scent.” She uttered and this time, I bite her arm which makes her release my hair. “Damn you, Anastasia!?” She screamed and was about to catch me when I already run away from her. I headed to the forest even though it was dark and while tears keep falling from my eyes. 

This is not the time, yet, for me to run away from my mother, but I cannot endure it anymore. My life was at risk, especially when I heard from her earlier that she wants to sell me to the man she had a conversation with on the other line earlier. It hurts, but I have to escape from here. 

My plan of running away will be done once I am already eighteen and my wolf had already come out, but then it changed now. I have to save my life. I'm still running away here in the forest and was sure that I'm far from our house. My legs won't stop running not until I suddenly slipped my feet on the lope hole which cause me to fall to the ground. 

“Get up, Anastasia, we're still not far from here,” I mumbled to myself and push myself from getting up on the ground. This is not the time for me to be weak. I have to face the struggles I've been encountering.

My mother will hunt me after I escape from her earlier. I was about to start running away when something happened next that I never expect.
