Chapter 2: Caught

Anastasia's POV

Numerous men arrived in my direction. They started grasping my wrist, which alarmed me. 

“W…what is happening?” I asked in a nervous tone.

“Are you not aware that you just step into the neighboring pack to where you came from?” It was asked on one of those men dragging me somewhere I do not know. I could feel my thumping heart when I realized that I had unwittingly run to the border of our pack's neighboring pack. My life was in danger and I'm certain that because of what happened, I am still hoping that I escape to them.

“Please, let me go!” I tried floundering, but their grip on my wrist was so tight. They didn't want to let go of me, and I'm so scared of my life.  

“Rogues are not allowed in here, and you will be punished for entering the border of the pack.” The other one said and that made my tears to fell from my eyes. My situation was getting worse when I lost in here. I'm certain that they won't spare me and will never allow me to leave after committing a mistake.

“Don't hurt me, please…” I'm just so tired of everything. All my life, I was being maltreated by my mother, and I'm so tired of that. The fact that she dislikes my scent was the reason she maltreated me.

My life was in danger now after the warriors of the neighboring pack caught me. I have no idea what will happen after they caught me, but I'm still hoping that my life will still be saved. I just hope that they won't hurt me and just spare my life. 

We've been walking for about ten minutes until we arrived at the palace of the pack. I can't stop feeling amazed upon seeing the entire place. This was my first time entering the pack. I never thought that this place was so beautiful. 

“Where are we?” I asked those men who were dragging me. 

“We will bring you to the Luna and to the Alpha to explain why you're running on the border of our pack.” One of them answered and which terrified me. I cannot believe that I will be lost here, and I don't even pay attention from earlier that the place I entered was the border of the other pack. My life was in danger and I don't know if I can still escape after being caught by them. 

“Please, just spare my life,” I begged, but they never listen. The Alpha and the Luna of the pack were ruthless, according to my mother. They never showed mercy to those who they killed, but on the other side, I felt doubts about what she said. I can't tell if she's telling the truth, or maybe just tricking me. 

“Beg your life in our Alpha and Luna.” One of them mumbled and which makes me heave out a deep breath. They continued dragging me inside the big palace while I am still having a jaw-dropping scenario. This place seemed to have a part of me that I couldn't explain. 

“Greetings, Alpha and Luna. We brought a rogue running at the border of the pack.” I turned my head to where the Alpha and the Luna standing. My heart still thumping so fast inside my chest when I slowly lifted my head to face them. I clenched my fists when my eyes locked on them. The Alpha is handsome, and the Luna was beautiful. 

“What is your name?” The male baritone of the Alpha echoed the hallway. I cannot tell if the way he spoke was calm or not. 

“My name is Anastasia, Alpha,” I replied and he just stared at me. My head turns to the Luna when she suddenly spoke. 

“What are you doing on our border? Are you a spy from the other pack?” She asked, and I swallow my saliva first before speaking, but when I'm about to speak, someone interrupts. 

“We shouldn't talk to a rogue, nor hear their reason, highness. We have rules in here, once they were caught, they must face the consequences without hearing their reasons.” A man uttered and which made me turn my head in his direction. 

“Why are you interrupting our responsibilities, beta?” The Alpha asked which makes my mouth agape. He's the beta of the pack.

“I'm just concerned that this rogue will try to fool the two of you.” He explained to them. 

“We know what we're doing, beta. Don't exceed us.” The Luna responded and which made the beta bend down his head because of embarrassment. 

“Forgive me, Alpha and Luna.” He replied. The Alpha and Luna turned their heads in my direction. I feel uncomfortable when the two couples just stared at me without uttering words. 

“We can't believe that a woman like you will be caught at the border. Little did you know that you're the first one who had the guts to enter our border?” The Alpha asked and which stunned me. 

“It's not my intention to enter on your pack, Alpha. Please believe me, I have no idea about it.” I explained, but they just remained to stare at me. It's hard to read what's in their mind because their facial expressions were just natural. 

“Not intentional? Are you not aware of the borders? You should not be in that place.” It's the Luna who stated those words. 

“Please just forgive me…” I uttered while my head was on the ground. “I have no idea about the way I'm heading, Alpha and Luna.” They were listening to me when I continued my sentence. 

“Who was your mother? Is she came from the Alpha's blood?” The Alpha asked and which makes my heart thump so fast inside my chest. 

“My mother never came from the Alpha's blood,” I replied to them. 

“Then you're a rogue. We cannot smell your scent.” The Luna replied. They cannot smell my scent because I'm hiding this. I'm scared to reveal my scent and for as long as I can, I have to keep it hidden. 

“We're sorry, but we have to do the right thing…” The Alpha stated and which made me lift my head towards them. “You will be executed for entering our border.” He continued, which shocked me. I suddenly felt nervousness about what happened next and which almost made my soul flee away from my body.
