MARCELENE

A sharp pain shot through my temple down to my eyes. I touched my forehead and groaned in pain.

My head felt heavy and I opened my eyes, but quickly regretted the action because of how the sudden brightness affected my throbbing head, I quickly shut them back. I swiped at my face and waited for a minute before I opened it again slowly this time. I had to blink severally before I finally got my eyes to adjust to my surroundings.

Rays of the sun shines through the small window at the left side of the room. And it had settled on my face. So I say up, avoiding its beams. The room was all antique. From the furniture down to the decor.

Heavy wooden chairs and a beautifully carved table sat at a corner, and directly at it is the four poster bed where I'm currently in. There are flower vases, lots of them, sitting comfortably at every corner. And the gold lace curtains and strange looking candleholders gave the room a nice touch.

And above all my eyes couldn't miss the deep painted walls in a rich burgundy tone which definitely made an impact and added warmth and coziness to the entire room.

Despite how horrible my migraine is affecting me I couldn't help but gaped at the room in awe and admiration. The magnificent chandelier gave me an excitement I couldn't fathom. I am a very big fan of antiques and vintages that I even decorated my room in school according to my taste.

Me being in this place feels like a dream come true.

But my head throbbed again, and it definitely brought me back to the reality of my situation.

I'm such an idiot. Why would I be admiring things after what happened the other night.

That bastard killed my mother.

Tears begin to well in my eyes. She looks really hurt the night before, her slump and still body clouding my vision.

“I wish I could just kill him.” I groaned; my neck also ached. The man had hit me on my neck. Wait… he kidnapped me? What does he even want from me?

Different questions kept bumping into each other in my head. It felt as if there was a traffic jam there. My mind is in total chaos.

“ I need to get out of here.” It suddenly occurred to me, and I jumped out of bed immediately. I am still putting on the white dress. I rushed to the door, but it was locked firmly from outside. And I panicked.

“ Calm down, Marcelene. You are a wolf. You can easily knock it down.” I breathed heavily as I braced myself to connect to my wolf. I haven't tried to connect with my wolf since I had turned. But it was not entirely my fault, I wasn't given the luxury of time to do that.

I closed my eyes. Maybe it will help me concentrate more and search desperately in my soul for my wolf. Nothing. Where the heck is this thing? I was getting impatient and angry. I need to get out of here to see whether my mom is even okay and not dead.

I tried again, but to no avail. For the next 5 minutes, I kept opening and closing my eyes, but nothing happened. If I had my mom or Aunt Kira with me, they would have certainly shown me the ropes of how to connect with one's wolf without it being a full moon.

My breathing has intensified. I know I definitely need to find another way. I sharply turned around hoping against hope that I'll find a secret door or something. Then my eyes landed on the antique. That's it.

“ Marcelene, you are so stupid.” I knocked my head slightly and rapidly made my way to the window. My white gown sweeping the floor behind me.

I tried to unlatch the bolt, but it was also locked or maybe broken. I noticed the bolt looked weak so I immediately turned around, my eyes searching again, frantically and desperately looking for something I can use to break the lock.

My eyes landed on the antique candleholder. I grabbed it, and thank goodness it felt strong enough. In a sharp strike with all my power, I strike at the latch and continue the same process for about five to six times.

The bolt broke and I heaved a sigh of relief at least it seems one of the problems has been solved. I happily opened it and I took a look outside. The relief turned to horror immediately. All the colors drain from my face in terror. I thought I was in a three story building.

The building is a “...tower!” I screamed, and sat down on the floor kicking the air with my legs as tears burst open.

I have been trapped.

“ No, no. My mother needs me. No.”

I stood up and rushed to the door again. I kicked at it still hoping my wolf would connect with me,

but to no avail. I turned my prayers to the door hoping it will opening magically as tears started rolling down my cheeks.

About an hour later, I walked back into the room and sat down on the floor in a corner. I feel defeated, but heaven knows I'll still kill that man if I ever see him again.

I will. He probably locked me up here. He is sure to come check up on me right?

Just then, like my thoughts were right or just coincidence. I heard a rattle at the door, which was the only good thing that has really happened since I woke up in this place. The door unlocked from the other side. From the way I keep hearing bolts turning, I know the man who wants me here doesn't want me to leave easily. Clever of him to put me in the highest room of the tower.

I sprang on my feet, physically and mentally braising myself for the coming encounter.

The door opened, and behind it was a lanky looking man. Is that him? I thought he was really huge and all.

But then the lanky man stepped aside. For someone else to enter. And he did.

He walked in, his steps were heavy against the wooden floor, and I felt the room go hot. I can make more sense of his features now that it's daytime. He is tall, broad shouldered, and he has striking, sharp features. His silhouette eyes were cold and piercing, and his face was a mystery as they were perfectly masked behind his stone face and permanent scowl.

“Hello, Blink.” He said, his deep baritone voice rarely raised, but it made its desired impact.

“ What?” I was confused. This guy is deranged. Who is Blink? Did he ask me to blink or what?

He glared at me in response for not catching up with what he just said. He stepped closer, his huge figure looming over me. His eyes were on me, it felt like they were piercing my soul. But I didn't allow it to deter me as I glared back in anger. He may have killed my mom.

“Listen, what do you want from me? Why am I locked up here?” He didn't say a word. “I demand you to let me go. I'm very serious, man.” I said, but my heart beat has increased a mile , and my anger won't let me back down.

His cold and dark eyes were still fixed on my face, and I'm starting to get uncomfortable, and he hasn't said a word either.

But why do I even bother asking, he is clearly out of his mind. The door is wide open so I can just walk out.

He finally turned and went to sit at the edge of the table, his arms crossed across his chest. Waiting. But for what? He won't say anything.

I finally decide to walk out. I made my way towards the door, and finally he said in a low, cold tone, just three words which made me stop in my tracks.

“You can't leave.”

MARCELENE I'm not dead yet. That is a relief. I woke up but my eyes still remained shut tight. I tried balancing myself out of my slumber and desperately trying to move my hands and squeeze my toes just to feel blood rush in them once again.I remembered everything. How I had gone into the wild like a fool, looking for Seer Jules and Roman. Yes, I was a fool. I had trusted Sage. Out of all people there is to trust. But I can't still blame myself. My mind was in jumbles, I had wanted to desperately find that sly man to ask him why he had destroyed his own pack? To gain what? And Sage had been there at the right moment to pretend and lead me astray. I was already thinking maybe she had changed, maybe she hadn't tried to kill me at the training ground weeks ago. I had pushed all my worries concerning her aside and actually trusted her words. See where that landed me. It would not have reached this point at all had I seen Bridget. She wouldn't have definitely allowed me to go to the wo

ROMAN It was getting darker as minutes and hours passed by in the woods. Marcelene still laid slump in my arms and I can't ever allow her to pass the night here in this place not only because it would be dangerous, but she would freeze to death. No amount of my clothes on her would keep her warm and from her white looking face, she seriously needs a fire in a warm room.So I carried her lightweight body in my arms and ran around looking for an abandoned cottage or evhdhdudjen a wrecked house at the very least, but there was none. I howled in frustration into the darkening environment. I have never felt so helpless. I just need a damn warm room for her. Marcelene had gone through enough just to have to end up freezing because of a simple warmth.Going back to Harlow Tower would be as fruitless as never even seeing a cottage in the first place. The only place near us now was Willow pack. It was the only option for me and would ever be convenient with Marcelene. Perhaps if I go closer t

SAGE This has gotten out of hand.I didn't expect Roman to go out looking for her like that. The worse case scenario I had expected was for him to send Malachi or Zach after her.But instead he had dashed out, didn't even bother for Malachi or Zach to follow him. Not that it would be dangerous but it just shows the lengths he would go for her. That was the first time since I have known Roman. It's either he doesn't care or he doesn't have a person's time, especially women. But what makes Marcelene so different? Was it the fact that she is the reincarnation of his first love from a thousand years ago? When Seer Jules had told me that. I didn't believe it. I couldn't till today. Today finally proves it all, because first of all, he hates her. Secondly, she is from Willow pack, another big reason to hate her more. Thirdly, he hates women in general. What makes her so special? What about me? I have been beside him for all these years. I had always done his bidding. I would have died for

  • The Alpha's Sweet Revenge: Bound by Blood and Vengeance    Chapter 64 (Love of a lifetime)

MARCELENE We got to the wild, our horses running round and round a particular area and the soldier who had followed me kept on howling out Seer Jules name, but there was no sign of Seer Jules. “Let's try another place.” I said to the soldier already galloping towards another side of the wild and he followed without question. And in and in we continued changing route and moving farther and farther away from Harlow Tower without realizing it. I know I would sound crazy to the soldier everytime I asked him to look at another place because he always dart a look at me considering I might sound crazy but I also looked weak, like I would faint anytime soon. But my determination to find that man was on another level of obsession. I didn't want to give up not yet. So we proceeded more and father into the wild.“I think it would be better to go back “ the soldier eventually said after we had gone past a whole lot. “It's dangerous here. We have even passed out territory. Way past it.”I look

  • The Alpha's Sweet Revenge: Bound by Blood and Vengeance    Chapter 63 (Fear of losing her)

ROMAN Earlier that day.“When will she be awake?” I asked quietly. I held her hand tightly. It was cold and I desperately wanted to keep it warm. I felt uneasy in the pits of my stomach and the fear of ever losing her made my eyes sting. I wonder how she's doing wherever she is in her dream. She must have been very scared. Only few could be courageous about being taken into the past and Marcelene I know is just one of those few.How I wish I was there to comfort her and not just stay here rooted by her side, helplessly trying to conquer my own deepest fear.“I don't know. It all depends on what's really happening wherever she is. And from the look of it she's really immersed in whatever she's into.” Seer Jules said and I shut my eyes trying not to go crazy again because this time I might damage more than I have done last time.I had to release Seer Jules even though a big part of me wants this as a big excuse for him to go back to that hell pit I took him out from. But he is the onl

  • The Alpha's Sweet Revenge: Bound by Blood and Vengeance    Chapter 62 (People who betray)

MARCELENE The first thing I saw when I opened my eyes was the familiar antique ceiling. It was gawking at me and mocking my failure and pain. I was back to the normal world. But somehow I didn't feel the same way I had left when I had gone to the past. The pain I left the past with still aches my heart. Why? Why do I have to feel like that with Roman? He is not supposed to affect me that much. But it was even deeper than it had been when I first saw the attack on the Sapphire pack in my dreams weeks ago. I'm not supposed to even give a damn if he dies or lives. He deserved that, more than that, but I can't help the tug I feel. And Roman might have been played by the person he trusted most, but for her to be killed along with him is just a twist I can't seem to understand.I swung my feet from the bed and stood up. My legs wobble a bit and I staggered back. I had to grab the poles of the bed for support. But still I have to do what is hammering at my brain. I need answers. Lots of i
