MARCELENE

A sharp pain shot through my temple down to my eyes. I touched my forehead and groaned in pain.

My head felt heavy and I opened my eyes, but quickly regretted the action because of how the sudden brightness affected my throbbing head, I quickly shut them back. I swiped at my face and waited for a minute before I opened it again slowly this time. I had to blink severally before I finally got my eyes to adjust to my surroundings.

Rays of the sun shines through the small window at the left side of the room. And it had settled on my face. So I say up, avoiding its beams. The room was all antique. From the furniture down to the decor.

Heavy wooden chairs and a beautifully carved table sat at a corner, and directly at it is the four poster bed where I'm currently in. There are flower vases, lots of them, sitting comfortably at every corner. And the gold lace curtains and strange looking candleholders gave the room a nice touch.

And above all my eyes couldn't miss the deep painted walls in a rich burgundy tone which definitely made an impact and added warmth and coziness to the entire room.

Despite how horrible my migraine is affecting me I couldn't help but gaped at the room in awe and admiration. The magnificent chandelier gave me an excitement I couldn't fathom. I am a very big fan of antiques and vintages that I even decorated my room in school according to my taste.

Me being in this place feels like a dream come true.

But my head throbbed again, and it definitely brought me back to the reality of my situation.

I'm such an idiot. Why would I be admiring things after what happened the other night.

That bastard killed my mother.

Tears begin to well in my eyes. She looks really hurt the night before, her slump and still body clouding my vision.

“I wish I could just kill him.” I groaned; my neck also ached. The man had hit me on my neck. Wait… he kidnapped me? What does he even want from me?

Different questions kept bumping into each other in my head. It felt as if there was a traffic jam there. My mind is in total chaos.

“ I need to get out of here.” It suddenly occurred to me, and I jumped out of bed immediately. I am still putting on the white dress. I rushed to the door, but it was locked firmly from outside. And I panicked.

“ Calm down, Marcelene. You are a wolf. You can easily knock it down.” I breathed heavily as I braced myself to connect to my wolf. I haven't tried to connect with my wolf since I had turned. But it was not entirely my fault, I wasn't given the luxury of time to do that.

I closed my eyes. Maybe it will help me concentrate more and search desperately in my soul for my wolf. Nothing. Where the heck is this thing? I was getting impatient and angry. I need to get out of here to see whether my mom is even okay and not dead.

I tried again, but to no avail. For the next 5 minutes, I kept opening and closing my eyes, but nothing happened. If I had my mom or Aunt Kira with me, they would have certainly shown me the ropes of how to connect with one's wolf without it being a full moon.

My breathing has intensified. I know I definitely need to find another way. I sharply turned around hoping against hope that I'll find a secret door or something. Then my eyes landed on the antique. That's it.

“ Marcelene, you are so stupid.” I knocked my head slightly and rapidly made my way to the window. My white gown sweeping the floor behind me.

I tried to unlatch the bolt, but it was also locked or maybe broken. I noticed the bolt looked weak so I immediately turned around, my eyes searching again, frantically and desperately looking for something I can use to break the lock.

My eyes landed on the antique candleholder. I grabbed it, and thank goodness it felt strong enough. In a sharp strike with all my power, I strike at the latch and continue the same process for about five to six times.

The bolt broke and I heaved a sigh of relief at least it seems one of the problems has been solved. I happily opened it and I took a look outside. The relief turned to horror immediately. All the colors drain from my face in terror. I thought I was in a three story building.

The building is a “...tower!” I screamed, and sat down on the floor kicking the air with my legs as tears burst open.

I have been trapped.

“ No, no. My mother needs me. No.”

I stood up and rushed to the door again. I kicked at it still hoping my wolf would connect with me,

but to no avail. I turned my prayers to the door hoping it will opening magically as tears started rolling down my cheeks.

About an hour later, I walked back into the room and sat down on the floor in a corner. I feel defeated, but heaven knows I'll still kill that man if I ever see him again.

I will. He probably locked me up here. He is sure to come check up on me right?

Just then, like my thoughts were right or just coincidence. I heard a rattle at the door, which was the only good thing that has really happened since I woke up in this place. The door unlocked from the other side. From the way I keep hearing bolts turning, I know the man who wants me here doesn't want me to leave easily. Clever of him to put me in the highest room of the tower.

I sprang on my feet, physically and mentally braising myself for the coming encounter.

The door opened, and behind it was a lanky looking man. Is that him? I thought he was really huge and all.

But then the lanky man stepped aside. For someone else to enter. And he did.

He walked in, his steps were heavy against the wooden floor, and I felt the room go hot. I can make more sense of his features now that it's daytime. He is tall, broad shouldered, and he has striking, sharp features. His silhouette eyes were cold and piercing, and his face was a mystery as they were perfectly masked behind his stone face and permanent scowl.

“Hello, Blink.” He said, his deep baritone voice rarely raised, but it made its desired impact.

“ What?” I was confused. This guy is deranged. Who is Blink? Did he ask me to blink or what?

He glared at me in response for not catching up with what he just said. He stepped closer, his huge figure looming over me. His eyes were on me, it felt like they were piercing my soul. But I didn't allow it to deter me as I glared back in anger. He may have killed my mom.

“Listen, what do you want from me? Why am I locked up here?” He didn't say a word. “I demand you to let me go. I'm very serious, man.” I said, but my heart beat has increased a mile , and my anger won't let me back down.

His cold and dark eyes were still fixed on my face, and I'm starting to get uncomfortable, and he hasn't said a word either.

But why do I even bother asking, he is clearly out of his mind. The door is wide open so I can just walk out.

He finally turned and went to sit at the edge of the table, his arms crossed across his chest. Waiting. But for what? He won't say anything.

I finally decide to walk out. I made my way towards the door, and finally he said in a low, cold tone, just three words which made me stop in my tracks.

“You can't leave.”

MARCELENE Alpha Tan dragged me outside into the main courtyard. Everywhere was full of people that I could barely focus on. There was an uproar when they all saw me.“Look, that's her. Look.” That was what kept on coming out from all their lips. “She should be punished.” I heard a man shout from the crowd and the others agreed which wasn't all surprising, Alpha Tan must have fed them some false information.“What lie did you tell them?” I spat out at him and he just smiled and said, “A good one enough to make them riled up.” Bastard!I was dragged to the front, then two guards pulled me up again to a big wood and tied me up with all sorts of ropes.“What are you doing? Let me go!” I screamed and struggled but of course I was ignored.“Shut up!” Seer Fern growled at me. I have completely forgotten about Alpha Tan's dog. “Go to hell!” I spat back.“Let her go. Now!” Someone's voice rang out in the crowd. The crowd parted a narrow way for the owner and Roman stepped through, his eyes

  • The Alpha's Sweet Revenge: Bound by Blood and Vengeance    Chapter 81 ( Deliberations)

ROMAN For the whole month I had stayed away from Marcelene. It has been really hard for me. I would say harder than it had been when Inaya died. It felt like I had lost my entire soul, not even half. For her to even think I love her less Hurst too. It burst because I had withdrawn the information she had every right to know about. It hurt to know she had to discover the truth from another source and not me. It makes me feel like a coward and it served me right for her to leave and punish me a little. It became harder when I had to watch her everyday from a distance without having to hold her and kiss her. Right, I had practically stalked her all those times.I had followed her immediately after she left, maintaining my distance and giving her her space. And today when Seer Jules finally figured the reasons behind Inayay appearing to Marcelene and told me the exact problem I couldn't wait any more second before I came directly to her door and rang the doorbell even though I just want

MARCELENE “Hello, Blink.”My jaws dropped open. The last person I expected to see is here, finally.Roman smiled, dark, sinful and seductive. His dark hair was way longer now, his jawlines sharper than I remember and his eyes… perfect.“Roman.”“Do you miss me?” His smile widened but I couldn't bring myself to say another word. I was completely stunned not that I hadn't anticipated this day for weeks but the fact that it's actually happening was more of a dream than reality.Everything I told myself about being his second choice and that he doesn't love me. He only did it because I am Inaya's incarnate and came crumbling down. It all felt like I had jilted myself from the list of precious things in this whole world.Marcelene, what the hell have you been missing out on. Marcelene you are so stupid to have let him go.Marcelene, you should have thought twice.Marcelene, Marcelene, Marcelene!“What took you so long.” I finally said, completely forgetting I had wanted him gone barely

MARCELENE I left.I actually left Amaranth.Roman actually let me go. When he gave me the pint of his blood for me to be able to open the portal between the two worlds, I almost crumbled and wanted to change my mind. I really wanted to stay instead, but apart from my feelings I think Aunt Kira needs to go back to my Mom. I really needed to know how she's faring even though I'm mad at her. She left me, but I can't leave her, she's gone through so much as well.So I guess that is how it would end between Roman and I? I don't like the realization one bit. I don't like the idea of being away from him.And now it's been a whole month. No word from Roman. Nothing. It first of all saddens me, then it infuriates me after two weeks. He won't even take the chance to fight for me.I'm not supposed to be complaining because I broke it off but still I have feelings and seeing as he didn't bother reaching out it seems he had finally gotten his sense back and realized maybe he didn't really love me
