Chapter Three

We stopped infront of a large door. I was beyond nervous and scared. I must've entered their territory when I was following after the wolf cub. I knew it was a bad idea. The guy went inside and then made a way for me to enter. I stepped inside the room and suddenly it got heavy. My body started to tremble a bit but I kept my composure.

The inside was spacious and there in the center of the room was a large desk and two chairs. On the other side of the room was a pair of black couches and a glass table. Behind the large desk two men were seated. The only one who had my attention was the one without any shirt on. He sat there staring at me as if I had committed a serious crime. His face was serious and well defined with a strong jawline. He had black wavy hair and a pair of deep blue eyes. He had a tattoo across his chest and also a nice set of abs.

-wait, what was I doing?!. I averted my eyes mentally slapping myself for staring at him for so long. What had gotten into me?!.

"Here she is Alpha", the guy said before bowing and walking out. The room got heavier as I stood there looking anywhere but at the two men. The one that was staring at me was the Alpha. I heard a throat cleared then someone spoke.

"Come closer, we're not going to hurt you", the other man stated as I stepped closer and closer until I felt like I should stop. I played with my fingers as I refused to look at the Alpha. It was like his stare had an effect on my body because I knees felt weak. I didn't understand why.

"What's your name?", he asked in a very deep voice. It felt my knees were going to give out any second.

"Lina", I replied unbelievably not stuttering at all. This time I met the Alpha's eyes and I saw that they were glowing red. I didn't know what that meant so I stepped back. I lost my balance and I closed my eyes ready to fall but I didn't. All I felt next were two strong hands around my body holding me tightly.

I opened my eyes and came face to face with the Alpha. My heart was beating so fast that I may have an heart attack. His eyes were still glowing but his face was no longer serious. It was somewhat calm. I wanted to regain my posture but I couldn't move. It was like I was lost in a trance. My body still felt weak.

He reached down and placed his head on mine. By this time I didn't know what to think anymore. I was only focusing on the Alpha who was holding me as if I would disappear if he let me go. He stood up taking me with him until I was back on my feet. I was somehow brought back to reality when I heard some commotion outside the door before it was burst open.

My dad came in and I pulled away and rushed to him.

"Dad!", I say as I wrapped my hands around him. He hugged me back and I could've sworn I heard a growl coming from behind me.

"Are you ok?", he said as he inspected me. I nod assuring him that I was physically unharmed.

"Who are you?", he spoke as my dad turned to him.

"I'm her dad. My apologies for trespassing on your territory but I had to find my daughter", my dad replied as I looked at the Alpha. His eyes were no longer red and was back to their normal color. As I stood there I remembered about the cub and its injured mom.

"What about the injured wolf, is she alright?", I asked as I looked at him.

"She's fine", he replied as I nod and averted my eyes.

"It's not a threat to us if you enter our territory, it's a threat to your own life. There are more dangerous out their than you can imagine and we don't to start a war by humans blaming us for their foolish behaviors. We live here separate from you to protect both our worlds", the man who was seated stated before pushing his chair back and getting up.

"I understand, it won't happen again". My dad looked at me and I knew he was going to lecture me about this. Maybe if I didn't follow the cub the events would've turned out the same. Only that I wouldn't have been involved and the mother wolf would be helped same way.

"Tariq, see them out and safely across the border", the man said as a guy opened the door for us to leave. I looked at the Alpha once more before turning and following after my dad.

>>>>

"Lina, are you alright?", was the first thing Avan said as he hugged the life out of me. After he released me it was my mom next who had worry written all over her face.

"My baby I'm glad you're alright, where have you been? Avan checked your room this morning and you weren't in there", my mom said as I swallowed harshly. I knew she was going to have a fit when she heard everything that happened.

"I crossed into the Alpha's territory but it was for a cause -

-You did what?!".

I sat down on the couch as I ignored all their eyes that were on me.

"It's ok baby, everything's alright now. She's back at home, safe and sound. I'm sure she will never wander off again especially so late in the night", my dad said as he held my mom in his arms. I felt guilty because I knew they were seriously worried.

Avan took my hand and pulled me from the living room. Once out of our parents earshot he turned to me.

"So did you meet the Alpha?", he asked as my mind drifted back to him. He was depiction of dominance and I figured out that it was his presence that made me so weak. But I didn't really know why. Was it because I was human? Or was it because it's my first time actually meeting him?

Sigh.

"Yes I did", I replied as I turned and ran up the stairs before he could ask me anything else. I wasn't going to elaborate on the moment when I almost fell and he caught me.

"Wait!"

I rushed to my room and almost succeeded in locking the door but he blocked it. I groaned as I made my way to the bed and jumped on it.

"Why did you run? I had more questions", he stated as he closed the door and laid beside me.

"Exactly, I don't want to answer any questions. I just want to forget all that happened", I replied before turning onto my side. What I said was battling against my mind. There was no way I could forget everything that happened. The way he caught me and held me as if I was going to run away the chance I get. His eyes turned red the moment he saw me but I didn't know what that meant.

"Lina, are you sure you're ok? I know you and I can tell something is on your mind. You can talk to me".

I turned back around and faced him. He smiled assuring me that it was ok to say what I want. The thing was, I didn't know what I wanted to say. It's like I want to say many things but none of them can be formed into words.

"It's just, it was scary you know. And the Alpha, well, he was tall, muscular, he screamed complete dominance and he was shirtless and-", I stopped when I realized what I was saying. My face heated up as Avan started humming.

"Ah, I see", he said as I turned and looked at him.

"What do you see?", I asked confusingly but he just kept smiling widely at me.

"Hmmm, let me guess, little red riding Lina has a crush on the big bad alpha".

I glared at him as he started laughing hysterically. I can't belive he just said that. I shook my head as I ignored him and take up my phone.

"Who knows, maybe one day he'll pop up and propose to you", he stated before bursting into another wave of laughter. He was unbelievable.

There was this feeling in my chest that felt somewhat empty. I didn't know why and it was so weird that when I think of him my mind feels calm. I feel at peace. All I knew was that I wouldn't be setting even a toe on their territory again.
