“You will not allow Ace around her again until we can sort all this out. We will find a way to get her out of there without having the police down our necks. We don’t draw unnecessary attention to this pack and you know this,” dad orders.

“We will keep an eye on her Nico. We will find the evidence we need to get her out of there,” says mom.

I storm out of the room and out the front door. I shift, taking off into the forest. I head straight for her house, but stay hidden in the trees. I can’t go any farther even if I wanted to thanks to dad’s order. Max comes up next to me as I settle in to watch her.

“It’s been calm today. Her father hasn’t come out of his room except for dinner. Ahsoka has been drawing on that easel since she cleaned up dinner.”
