The Battle Line

Lydia Richmond's POV

As Beatrice fell, I went ahead and sat on her. I punched her hard on her face until she began to cry for help. I was tired of holding back and as I remained all that had happened between us from years back, I took it out on her.

“Help!” Beatrice cried but I punched her harder. She had to surrender to me now. I could hear some footsteps running towards us in the room. Quickly, I locked the door.

Beatrice had stood up and her nose was bleeding. I could see blisters on her mouth as well.

But I wasn't finished with her.

I dived towards her and my head hit her stomach. She fell haphazardly on the bed and cried even more.

“Please, Lydia!” Beatrice begged. “I will never try this again. Not in this world or the next!”

As she begged me with her bleeding nose, I took pity on her. I gave her a farewell slap before leaving her. I went to the door and opened it for the guards to rush in. Some maids ran inside as well.
