Chapter 4

RIOT'S POV

I have a dark and terrible secret that's shameful to share, as much as it would change people's perception of me.

Hearing Maia say strange things and looking terrified, I could guess what had happened so I immediately turned and left her side, lest I embarrass myself even further.

"Alpha!" She tried calling me back, but I didn't stop.

I couldn't face her this way. I should even end this engagement and wage a war against her pack, if that would make her forget this.

My mother abandoned me when I was twelve, telling me she was going to find me a father— that I know was a lie, because we're poor and we're rogues who have no pack but to wander up and down like nomads.

I joined the Assassin's Creed at fifteen, and I committed my first murder at sixteen, determined to make a lot of money and find my mother.

"Alpha, what happened? I've been looking for you?" My Beta asked me immediately to I descend the stairs to the large hall where we had taken photos earlier.

"Arrange the car. We're leaving right now," I declared, without answering his question about my whereabouts, because even though he was my beta, he also called me mad once, which means no one can ever believe it.

No one will agree that the person they call mad and murderous was another person and never me.

When HE takes over, he prefers elaborate mask in silver, gold and any color in decorations. But I wear black half-masks. it's one way I can tell who was in control...

At eighteen, my prayers were answered as the alpha of the West pack gave my Assassin Creed a mission to wipe out an entire pack. However, I was desperate to leave the murdering group because we received little payment, as we had bosses. So, I met the Alpha in secret and told him I would wipe out an entire pack alone.

He thought it was a lie, but I did, and since then, Alpha Theophillus of the West Pack took me in like a younger brother and gave me a place in his pack. He gave me his daughter to marry, but I refused because? Love or marriage was never part of the plan!

My hidden goal was to find my mother and take care of her, and I was determined to do that before marriage.

"Why are you leaving, Alpha?" I heard Alpha Ebenezer's voice behind me, and I turned to see the sixty-year-old man rushing toward me with his gay son. "My daughter and her sister are getting ready, you should leave..."

"I'll send a car to pick her, but I'm leaving first" I replied to him and waited until my Beta fetched our car and I hopped in, without waiting for him to reply.

My Beta stepped on the pedal, about to ride away but we heard, "Stop!"

I looked sideways and she was there, dazzling in a red dress that I found incredibly alluring just like the first time I met her while Ayra was now in the wedding dress, looking terribly sad.

"Will you leave me behind?" Ayra asked.

My chest thumped in sadness when she beamed with a forceful smile, trying to act like her sister. Will I really leave her behind?

"Shall we go now, Alpha?" The beta asked and I waved my hand. "Yes. Get my men to pick her up later."

"Yes Alpha."

Then we drove away. I can't trust myself if anything were to happen to her. Glad that she switched again. I'll just have my men take her to one of my villas.

As the car sped toward the West pack, my mind diverted to when I finally found my mother, dead at the border of two packs.

She had a notebook in her hand, and in the book she listed the names of packs she'd lived at and why the Alphas there used

and discarded her.

Then, I was twenty-two years old, and I showed Theophilus what I had found. He helped me give my mother a befitting burial, and after her burial, I was ready to kill.

It was on the night of her funeral that I felt myself changed.

It sounded crazy at first, but after my first bloodshed, I discovered that I'm no longer one person and that someone was living inside of me.

I almost killed myself when he possessed me to almost murder Theophillus, my helper.

I consulted several shamans and soothsayers, but they had no solution to my problems until I saw him by myself on a full moon night.

His name is Eros, the god of sex and desires, who lost his heart to his lover eighty years ago. He confessed he was a wandering spirit who could not die or be seen without his heart and was waiting for his lover to be reborn so he could take his heart.

The problem of staying in my body actually started when we both realized that we cannot remember what the other person does if we switch, and he and I can't communicate unless I shift, which only happens on full moon nights.

Everything he does with my body, I couldn't remember it and everything I do, he couldn't remember, and I thought it's actually cool, as he also narrated that he had a long and deep grudge against the packs my mom listed in her diary, and since then, both shared one body and he started an OnlyFans account with my face!

Since he's not a spirit I can control, I have no choice but to live a secret life while using my name as Daddy M.

My beta stopped the car before the wardrobe arrived and I rushed to my apartment without going to see Theophillus first. He must be expecting me and my bride to come greet him by now.

I sashayed into the living room and pulled out the notebook with sternness. The pack at the fifth row was a wildflower pack, and it was the rule of the Alpha's council that any pack against which a war was waged had to drop collateral or exchange; a war could only be waged without an exchange.

All these while I mascara packs, they're all pledged under Riot, who now sees me as nothing more than his dog, and I don't mind, because to me, I couldn't live a life without my mum.

Curiosity made me check the only fans that Eros created in my name, and that's when I saw his chats with "little wild Maia"

Her picture initially attracted me, until we met, and...

I accepted the wife in exchange for war from the Wildflower pack, thinking it was her. But when I learnt that she was triplets, I sent that angry message with the plan of not attending the wedding and sending a beta instead.

But Eros possessed me and only left my body while we were at the altar.

Still reminiscing on these, the door opened with urgency, and the better rushed in. "Is she here?". I asked absentmindedly, but his eyes held deep sorrow more than I imagined.

I got up, "What happened, beta?"

"Alpha..." He stopped and gulped hard. "The car conveying your new bride got into an accident!"

"What?" My eyes snapped open. "Did you mean the Gamma?"

He gulped hard again.... "It's.. It's the Gamma. She's wearing the wedding dress and...."

My sight blurred at that moment and.... Damnit! Eros just possessed me again.
