Shocking news

My alarm woke me up suddenly. I sat up with a jolt rubbing my eyes. 6am was too early for me anytime but especially recently I've been feeling exhausted. Groaning I rolled out of bed and headed for a shower. 

After the warm shower I stood by the mirror and looked at the brusing from the interaction with my brother yesterday. Sighing I pulled on a long sleeve blouse. I headed out the door felling too sick for breakfast and walked to work. 

"Hey you! Are you ready for today?" Scarlett said too cheerful for this early in the morning. 

I smiled and nodded stepping past her and dropping my handbag. I re-emerged and stood beside her to check up in the rooms for the Alphas and their guests. I saw the cleaners had completed 7 out of the 10 rooms and headed up to help finish the last 3. 

Midway up the staircase I started seeing spots and began breathing heavy. I sat down on the stairs trying to steady my breathing when Steve, one of the new employees found me. 

"Kitty are you ok?" He asked from behind me. 

I turned, still sitting on the step afraid to get up, and saw Taylor walking down towards me. He held out his arm offering to help me up. I accepted, smiling at him and standing slowly.

"I'm fine just got a little light headed that's all. I was on my way up to help sort the last 3 rooms." I said going to move past him.

He slid over on his step stopping me from ascending the stairs.

"It's ok we have it sorted two of the rooms are being turned down at the moment and I was just coming down to grab some more towels for the last one. You should go sit down until the guests arrive you look a little pale." He said, a worried frown forming on his face.

I simply sighed and nodded before turning and heading back to Scarlett. Her head rose from the computer for a moment when I re-entered the lobby and a small smirk tugged at the side of her lips when she saw I was with Taylor. I went past her to grab the towels he needed before he headed back upstairs.

"Hes pretty cute huh?" She said once he was out of earshot.

"What?" I asked in surprise.

I took a moment to think it over and he wasn't the worst looking person in the world but I was not interested in any type of relationship unless it involved the word friend in it. I simply shrugged in response to her and went down the back hallway to get a glass of water.

As I was pouring myself a glass of the orange juice I found in the employee fridge Scarlett entered the room and raised an eyebrow at me.

"So you don't like him then?" She asked as I chugged half the glass.

I shugged again as I shallowed. "It's not that I don't like him it's just I'm not looking to date anyone right now." I said sitting down next to her.

"Oh come on it doesn't have to turn into anything serious you could just mess around with him. Or are blondes not your type?" She asked with a big smile on her face.

I laughed and shook my head. "I really don't care about hair color. Shouldn't you be watching the front desk anyway?" I said finishing off the juice feeling less sick.

I put the glass in the sink and went to leave the room, looking at Scarlett as I stood in the doorway. "Unless you're asking this because you think he's cute then by all means go for it." I said motioning for her to follow me.

I heard her laughter follow me before the chair squeaked and her footsteps trailed me. I rounded the doorframe to see a pair of tall men standing at the front desk looking very serious. Panicking a little bit they were guests I straigtened myself up and stopped laughing approaching them. As I did they turned to look at me and I realised it was AJ and another man.

"Kitty! How have you been?" Aj said making me smile and my cheeks start to feel red.

"Good thank you."  I said as Scarlett appeared beside me.

"How can we help you today sir's." Scarlett said in her sickly sweet customer service voice.

"We are only here to meet our brother and the other Alpha's they should be arriving soon and we wanted to make sure everything was in order. While they are here their should always be at least one person on the front desk." The man standing next to Aj said making me feel like a child again being spoken down too.

I looked at Jamie feeling a small ember of rage start to build but before anyone could say anything Aaron coming running into the lobby and practically bowled over AJ and Jamie. Jamie did not look impressed by his older brothers actions. This interaction made me smile it was as if Jamie was the oldest not Aaron. The brother's were so different.

"Anyway as I was saying if you two wish to keep your jobs here I suggest you not leave the desk unattented when we are expecting Alpha's to show up." Jamie said, his eyes felt like they could drill holes through us.

"Of course sir. It won't happen again. We have the conference room set up if you want to wait in their for the arrivals." Scarlett said as I stood frozen transfixed in his eyes.

He simply nodded and Scarlett showed them to the room. When she came back the first of the Alpha's had arrived and I was in the process of checking them in. All up it took us about 3 hours to get everyone except one group checked in and settled in the conference room. Of course the last group to arrive was my old pack. Bruce found these things extremely boring and pointless and if last night was any indication my brother wasn't much better.

Six hours after everyone one else was checked in and mingling in the conference Bruce finally arrived with Chris, Lily and another woman. His grin sent shivers down my spine and he wondered over with Lily giggling behind him and his arm around this woman's waist.

"So this is where you crawled off to die then?" He said to me as I tried to make sure I was breathing properly.

"Welcome, we have two rooms ready for you." I said begging my voice to remain steady.

"Oh I bet you do." He said with that evil grin getting wider. "Tell you what Kitty you can check us in and we will get this over and done with and then you could come upto my room for a rain check on that fun we had before you ran away." He and Lily cackled so loud but Chris and the woman beside Bruce looked, angry.

"I'll show you to your room's." Scarlett cut in and stepped around the desk.

"No I want Kitty to do it!" Bruce said raising his voice.

"Unfortunately she's busy." A smooth yet angry voice said from my right causing everyone to freeze and look at Jamie who had a look on his face like he could kill Bruce.

"Oh hey big brother. Didn't know you got roped into this as well." Bruce said sounding like he was holding back tears.

I backed away from the desk slowly feeling like my legs were about to give out on me. Jamie must have seen this and walked over placing an arm around my shoulders as the room began to spin. The last thing I saw before everything turned black was Scarlett, Aj and Chris coming towards me. 

"Hey sleepy head." Aj said as I opened my eyes.

I looked around the insanely white room that smelled like disinfectant and sighed.

"Easy don't sit up too fast. You passed out at work. Luck for you I'm a doctor." He said with a stupid grin on his face.

"I need to get back to work Scarlett needs me." I said trying to get up.

"Sorry you're not going anywhere until tests come back. You've been in and out for about 2 hours now. Do you remember anything?" He asked putting his hand on my shoulder and pushing me back so gently.

I shook my head no.

"Ok well we took blood when you first got here and were awake for a little bit. They should be coming back soon. Once we get the all clear that you don't have anything seriously wrong you will be able to go home." He said waiting for me to nod in response and then he left the room.

I sat in silence for I don't know how long until the door to my room slid open and Angel was there.

"Damn girl you look terrible." She said with a smirk.

"Geez thanks just what I want to hear right now." I shot back causing her to fake being hurt by my words for a second.

She walked into the room and sit down next to me.

"Scarlett called me she was so worried I had to come see you or she was going to make me go crazy." She said smiling ever so slightly.

I knew something had been happening between them but they never told me anything so I never pushed for information.

"You left Diablio's wow Scarlett really can work miracles." I joked making Angel laugh and seemly relax.

We talked about nothing for about 30 minutes until Aj knocked and then entered the room.

"Hey Angel. Kitty we need to talk about these results." He said causing me and Angel to sit up tensed.

"Ok" I said nervously.

"We got the blood results back and the reason you've been feeling off the last few weeks is because you're pregnant." He said.

My ears started to hear my heartbeat and I started breathing heavy. No this can't happen I only ever had sex once.

"Hey it's ok just breath we'll get through this. Hey kitty just hold my hand ok." I could hear Angel saying but it sounded muffled.

No it wouldn't be ok. Bruce is staying at my work and now I have something that would connect me to him forever. None of this is ever going to be OK.
