BELLA’s POV

Two police officers were talking to Richard, who appeared distressed. The officers were taking notes and investigating the scene.

I approached them cautiously and inquired, "Is everything okay here? I was supposed to meet Richard, and when I arrived, I found the house in disarray."

One of the officers, a woman, turned to me with a reassuring smile. "Don't worry, ma'am. We received a call about a break-in, but it seems to be under control now."

I turned my attention to Richard, who appeared relieved to see me. He explained, "I arrived home to this chaos just moments before you did. I called the police immediately."

The other officer, a man, said, "We're taking statements and investigating the situation. If you could just give us a moment."

Relieved that the situation wasn't as dire as I had feared, I agreed and stepped aside to let the officers do their work. After a thorough investigation and some paperwork, they assured us that the house was secure.
