Kendall's POV

As Charles's car continued to tear through the open field, the situation took a dire turn. Suddenly, Charles slammed on the brakes, bringing the vehicle to a screeching halt. He jumped out of the car, leaving the engine running, and forcibly dragged me out of the vehicle.

I groans of pain and yelps of distress filled the night air as I struggled against Charles's grip. The rough treatment sent waves of agony through my body, but my spirit remained unbroken. I knew that her escape was so close, and I couldn't let Charles's cruel actions deter me.

Charles's voice was laced with a mix of anger and desperation as he asserted, "We must proceed with the plan, whether you like it or not, Kendall."
