Sera’s POV

It had been over a month.

A month since everything broke.

A month since I lost control in front of everyone.

A month since I became something I didn’t understand.

And somehow—

The palace looked… normal again.

From the outside, everything had settled.

The corridors were no longer filled with panic.

The guards no longer moved like they were expecting another attack at any second.

Servants laughed again, quietly but freely.

Meetings resumed.

Decisions were made.

Orders were carried out.

  • The Beta's Regret: ONCE REJECTED, NOW MY EX'S QUEEN    CHAPTER 110

Dorian’s POVIt had been five days since the news of Caden’s escape spread across the city and ever since then, fear had settled over the entire place like smoke after a fire that refused to die completely. Every single day reports arrived at the palace from different parts of the city and every report carried the same thing beneath the words. People were afraid to leave their homes after sunset. Merchants were closing their businesses earlier than usual and families were relocating quietly from certain areas.Even the guards stationed around the city looked more tense lately because the moment the people heard that Alpha Caden was no longer inside the palace prison, every buried fear resurfaced immediately. And honestly, I could not blame them. Caden built his reign around fear long before anybody realized how dangerous he truly was and even after his downfall, the shadow he cast over the city never disappeared completely.I walked into my office that morning with the same calmness I

  • The Beta's Regret: ONCE REJECTED, NOW MY EX'S QUEEN    CHAPTER 109

Mila’s POVThe video started the same way it always did. I stared at the paused screen on my phone while sitting at the edge of my bed and despite watching it several times already, the satisfaction that came with knowing what was inside it still remained fresh. I have watched the video of Eli and Nyra kissing like they forgot the rest of the palace existed over and over again and I have always loved every part of it.The memory alone made a slow smile spread across my face because if there was one thing I had learned after living inside this palace for years, it was that secrets were more valuable than loyalty. And that particular secret was powerful enough to destroy both of them whenever I wanted. I leaned back slowly against the headboard while letting my fingers tap lightly against the side of the phone because thinking about the day I got the video still felt unreal. The palace had already been chaotic that day. Everybody was distracted by one disaster or another and moments lik

  • The Beta's Regret: ONCE REJECTED, NOW MY EX'S QUEEN    CHAPTER 108

Eli’s POVI was seated in my office like I do almost everyday when Mila barged in and instantly, I knew something was wrong. The argument started the second Mila stepped into my office and judging from the look on her face, she already came prepared for war. I barely had enough time to stand properly from my chair before she slammed the office door shut behind her with enough force to make the glass walls vibrate slightly and the tension that entered the room with her immediately settled heavily in the air.“You’ve been avoiding me,” she snapped immediately while walking toward my desk without waiting for permission to speak. I stared at her calmly for a moment before leaning back slightly against the edge of the table because after everything happening inside the palace lately, I honestly had no patience left for unnecessary drama. “I’ve been busy.” I said as I managed to stand on my feet. “That’s a lie.” she replied almost immediately with a sharpness in her tone that immediately i

  • The Beta's Regret: ONCE REJECTED, NOW MY EX'S QUEEN    CHAPTER 107

Sera’s POVI woke up feeling lighter than I had felt in weeks and for a few seconds I remained still beneath the sheets while trying to understand why because peace had become something unfamiliar to me lately.Dorian’s arm was wrapped instinctively around my waist while his body remained pressed warmly against mine from behind and the steady rhythm of his breathing against the back of my neck immediately relaxed something inside me all over again. My eyes slowly closed briefly as relief settled heavily inside my chest because after everything that had happened recently, after the arguments, the lies, the revelations and the emotional exhaustion, waking up like this felt strangely comforting and safe. For once my mind was not racing immediately after opening my eyes. For once there was no painful truth waiting for me the second consciousness returned. The faint morning light slipping through the curtains spread softly across the room while the silence around us remained calm and I fou

  • The Beta's Regret: ONCE REJECTED, NOW MY EX'S QUEEN    CHAPTER 106

Sera’s POVIt is already very late and I am still awake, seated elegantly on my bed and waiting for Dorian to come back from the meeting he had with Kade. The digital clock sitting near the bedside table glowed faintly in the dark chamber while the sound of the wind outside brushed softly against the windows and despite how exhausted my body felt, sleep refused to come because my mind had been restless ever since Dorian left to meet Kade earlier. I stood up from the bed and I sat near the balcony with my legs folded beneath me while staring blankly into the darkness outside the palace grounds because lately silence had become dangerous for me. Every quiet moment gave my thoughts enough space to wander into places I no longer wanted to revisit and I couldn't control it. Every truth that surfaced lately only seemed to destroy another part of the life I thought I understood. I exhaled slowly and rested my head against the chair behind me while trying to calm the tension sitting heavily

  • The Beta's Regret: ONCE REJECTED, NOW MY EX'S QUEEN    CHAPTER 105

Dorian’s POVThe statement they will kill Sera replayed in my head over and over again and I couldn’t say anything for a while because no matter how hard I tried to process it, the words still felt unreal to me. The thought alone made my chest tighten painfully because no matter how cruel Caden had proven himself to be over the years, a part of me still struggled to understand how someone could become so consumed by greed and obsession that they would decide the only way to secure power was by destroying the rightful owner completely. I exhaled slowly and adjusted myself properly on the chair while forcing my mind back into the conversation because losing focus now would be dangerous and judging from the tension sitting on Kade’s face, he clearly had more to say. “How do you think we would be able to do that?” I finally asked after gathering myself enough to continue.Kade’s expression changed almost immediately and the sadness that clouded his face moments ago disappeared behind som
