Chapter Three 

Emma POV: 

I’m running and my lungs are burning up. I swear I used to be in good shape. The asphalt is cold and wet under my bare feet and my ass and tits are giggling in the air as I run full force towards the road. I could hear cars driving on it when I was hiding in the woods with that good for nothing Beta.  There is no way in hell either of them will be my mate. 

The second I entered Alpha Cast’s territory my wolf was yelling at me that something was off about this place. The pack lands seemed to be loosely guarded and I couldn’t figure out why. I know I looked dirty, naked and probably crazy but I was getting out of there and going anywhere else but here or my father’s lands one way or another. My father is a tyrant who only has ever seen me as property and that ends now. I’d rather kill my self than become someone’s breeding whore. 

As I begin to see the light and hear more of the cars on the road, I wave my arms up in the air and I want to begin screaming, “Help”. But, before the words come out of my mouth a sense of a blurr moving in the woods and it’s black. “Mate!” My wolf whines and she wants us to come to him for protection. 

No, stupid. He is a bad guy. We don’t like him. They are both gross and they are the reason you’re in the woods being chased by wolf hunters. Hunters, they had become a real problem on my father’s lands. Humans or sometimes human hybrids hunt for pure bred or as close to pure bred wolves as they could find. Hunters could fetch hundreds of thousands of dollars for female wolves to breed to unmated male wolves or humans who wanted to watch shifter fights. There were rumors that some billionaire had some tied up in a basement somewhere experimenting on them. I had heard talks about it, rubbish nonsense my father had told his counsel. No, need to worry and all that. Well, it looked like the rumors were fucking true now and even more reason to get the hell out of here. If I shifted they would notice me immediately. 

I have to shake those thoughts away keep moving- but just as I'm about to take another step something wizzes past my ear. Ahh, I yell and my hand instictvely goes to my ear as it begins to burn.  That is when I notice I've been shot. 

Shit. Hunters. 

I try to turn but a massive big black blurr of a wolf comes towards me and pushes me down to the ground growling in my face. 

"Stay down, we have to get you out of here." 

It's a command and I know who it's from the Alpha. He's pushed his way into my mind and pain is exploding into my mind. 

"Be calm, I know it hurts but this is the only way to keep you from doing something dumb." The black wolf leans down and licks my wounds. I moan and I pray he didn't hear it. He did. The sensations from it feel my belly with a warmth that travels down my whole body. I swear to the goddess, I think this fucking wolf is smirking at me whe I see him looking up at me. 

Fucking mate bond. 

Would I feel this way about either one of them if it wasn't for The Moond Goddess? 

Another push at my mind. I attempt to block it, but Cast nudges me.

"Feels good doesn't it?" 

I push him off of me. 

"Shut up." 

Branches start to break in the distance- and thats when I hear the load of another gun. 

Oh god. They're going to start shooting again. The fear that takes over me is imbolizing. Cast is growling at me and nudging me to move forward so I belly crawl toward's rock to take cover as bullets and not just any bullets silver bullets designed to hurt and if you hit a ware wolf with one in just the right spot, will kill us they rain down on us. Cast guards my back as I make it to behind the rock and to safety. 

"Stay here he mind links once more."

"What? Do not fucking leave me here alone.?!"

 Cast's big head cock toward's the side and he looks more like a fluffy puppy then a strong alpha about to take down wolf hunters who are raining silver bullets at us with terrible aim. "That's funny you had no problem leaving us the second you got here and left our mate injured in the woods. I think you'll manage. Don't leave or I won't be showing the same hospitality when we get home." 

I watch as Cast turns on his heels and jump's out of the way of several stray bullets growling and running after each hunter, another wolf is in the distance white and brown and I immedatley recognize it as Keiran. Keiran and Cast take turns hunting down each hunter that comes closer and closer toward's me one by one in a tag team gurrilla war fair like style. 

It's crazy, it's horrible to watch but I can't look away as blood and dirt are flying every where and soon later more wolves from Cast's pack come in and surround the rest of the hunters. I suppose these hunters were all human as Cast, Keiran and the rest of his pack warrior's have a pile of bodies still in the center in a matter of minutes. "This looks disgusting" I say outloud. 

"I think the proper thing for you to say is Thank you Kieran." Shit. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. 

There he was again except this time- he Kieran was naked in front of me. The saddness had left his eyes and his body rippled in muscles and tanned skin. The moon phases tattoo rippling down his arm flexed under the moon light as night had taken over the woods. 

He looked satisfied, or hungry I couldn't tell. But, I know the look that burned in his eyes were for me, I was burning for him too the more he stared at me the more my breaths came out ragged like I couldn't get enough air to fill my lungs.
