Working under my Alpha husband

The William Group of Companies was nothing like I imagined.

The building rose into the sky like a fortress of glass and steel, cold and intimidating. As the car slowed in front of the entrance, my heart pounded painfully against my ribs. This wasn’t fear—it was awareness. My wolf was restless, alert, reacting to the powerful Alpha presence that filled the place.

William.

I stepped out of the car, my fingers tightening around my bag. Employees moved briskly past me, their faces filled with determination and quiet anxiety. This place breathed power, ambition, and dominance, everything my Alpha husband embodied. Inside, whispers followed me.

“That’s her…” “The Alpha’s wife…” “She doesn’t look like much.” “Why is she here?”

I kept my head high, even as their words cut deep. I had survived worse. Years of cruelty from my stepmother and stepsister had taught me how to endure pain without breaking.

At the reception desk, the secretary froze when she saw me.

“Mrs… Mrs. Miller?” she stammered.

“Yes,” I replied calmly.

She swallowed. “The chairman instructed us to prepare an office for you. You’ll be working under the executive department… directly under Mr. Miller.”

Under William.

My wolf stirred uneasily.

William’s office was on the top floor.

As the elevator ascended, memories flooded my mind, of the night he saved me from rogue wolves, of the day I saved him from death, of the moment my wolf recognized him as my mate.

And in the cold way he looked at me now.

The doors slid open.

William stood by the floor-to-ceiling windows, his back to me, dressed in a perfectly tailored suit. Even without facing me, his presence was overwhelming. Alpha energy rolled off him in silent waves.

“You’re late,” he said without turning.

“I arrived exactly on time,” I replied softly.

He turned then, his sharp blue eyes locking onto mine. For a split second, something flickered in his gaze, confusion, maybe recognition, but it vanished just as quickly.

“You’re here because of my grandfather,” he said coldly. “Not because you deserve it.”

I nodded. “I understand.”

That seemed to irritate him more.

“You will work like every other employee,” he continued. “No special treatment. No using my name.”

“I never planned to,” I said quietly.

His brows furrowed. He clearly hadn’t expected that answer.

“Good,” he muttered. “My assistant will assign your duties.”

As I turned to leave, his voice stopped me.

“And stay away from Selena.”

The name sliced through me.

“She doesn’t like being disturbed,” he added.

I wanted to laugh. Or cry. Instead, I simply nodded and walked out.

The first week was hell.

I was given piles of work no beginner should handle, reports, market analysis, late-night data reviews. Some employees deliberately made mistakes and blamed them on me. Others refused to acknowledge my presence at all.

Yet I endured.

Every night, I returned to the mansion exhausted, my body aching, my wolf weak but unbroken. William never asked how my day went. Selena, however, made sure to mock me constantly.

“It's so tiring working all day, isn’t it?” she said one evening, lounging beside William on the couch. “Unlike some of us who belong in high positions naturally.”

William said nothing.

But he watched me.

Always watching.

One afternoon, everything changed.

William stormed out of a board meeting, fury radiating from him. The hallway fell silent as he barked orders and dismissed employees with a glare.

“Get her,” he snapped.

I froze when his assistant pointed at me.

“In my office. Now.”

The door slammed shut behind us.

William threw a file onto the desk. “Did you prepare this report?”

“Yes,” I answered steadily.

“This projection is impossible,” he growled. “These numbers—”

“They’re accurate,” I interrupted before I could stop myself.

Silence fell.

My heart raced. Challenging an Alpha, especially him, was dangerous.

William’s eyes darkened. “Explain.”

I took a deep breath and walked closer, pointing at the data. “The market shift in Asia will affect raw material costs within three months. Your current suppliers won’t survive the inflation.”

He stared at the report again.

Then at me.

“You noticed this,” he said slowly, “when my senior analysts didn’t?”

“Yes.”

Something changed in the air.

His scent shifted, curiosity mixing with something deeper. Pride, perhaps.

For the first time, he didn’t look at me like a burden.

He looked at me like an equal.

“Leave,” he said quietly.

As I turned to go, my wolf purred softly.

That night, William dreamed.

He saw blood-soaked ground. Rogue wolves. A small trembling girl behind him.

He woke with a sharp gasp, his heart racing.

Why does she feel familiar? he wondered.

Days later, Selena struck back.

She cornered me in the office restroom, her smile venomous.

“You don’t belong here,” she hissed. “This is my place. My mate. My future.”

I met her gaze calmly. “You’re mistaken.”

She laughed. “He believes I saved him. And he always will.”

My wolf growled softly inside me.

“You can keep lying,” I said. “But the truth always finds its way out.”

Her hand struck my face before I could react.

Pain exploded across my cheek.

Before she could strike again, a voice thundered, “What is going on here?”

William.

The hallway was silent.

Selena’s face twisted into false tears. “She attacked me” “That’s enough,” William snapped. His eyes were on me. And for the first time… they softened.

That night, William’s grandfather summoned him.

“You feel it, don’t you?” the old Alpha said calmly. “The bond.”

William clenched his fists. “She can’t be my mate.” “But she is,” his grandfather replied. “And the longer you deny it, the more damage you cause.”

William said nothing.

But deep down, something had already begun to crack.

  • The Biggest Mistake, loving my Alpha husband    A New Beginning

Six months later… The Miller mansion no longer felt like a battlefield. The cold tension that once filled its halls had disappeared, replaced by something unfamiliar The morning sun poured gently through the tall glass windows, casting soft light across the garden. Outside, the once silent grounds were now filled with the sound of children’s laughter. Nathan ran across the grass. Not slowly. Not weakly. But freely. “Catch me if you can!” Mia shouted, her voice full of excitement as she chased after him. Nathan laughed—a clear, bright sound that Annie hadn’t heard in years. “You’re too slow!” he teased, turning back playfully. Annie watched from the garden bench. Her hand rested gently on her stomach. Round now. Full of life. A quiet reminder of everything that had changed. Her eyes followed her children as they played. Healthy. Safe. Happy. Everything she had fought for. Everything she almost lost. “You’re smiling.” William’s voice came from beside her. Calm.

The screen flickered. For a split second, nothing appeared. Just static. A faint buzz echoed through the hall, and the guests exchanged confused glances. Selena’s fingers tightened slightly around William’s arm. “What is this?” she whispered again, this time with a hint of tension in her voice. William didn’t respond. His eyes were fixed ahead. Cold. Unmoved. Then The video began. At first, it showed a quiet hallway inside the Miller mansion. A normal evening. Nothing suspicious. Guests leaned forward slightly, curious. Selena let out a small breath and forced a smile. Probably some kind of memory montage, she thought. Something romantic. Something safe. Then the scene shifted. The staircase. Clear. Focused. And then Selena appeared. Her smile froze. Her entire body went stiff. On the screen, she stood behind Mrs. Miller. Her expression wasn’t gentle. Wasn’t kind. It was cold. A ripple of whispers spread across the room. “What is that…?” “Isn’t that Selena?” “

  • The Biggest Mistake, loving my Alpha husband    The Engagement Trap

The Miller mansion had never looked more dazzling. Crystal chandeliers shimmered overhead, casting golden light across the polished marble floors. Elegant music floated through the air as guests in luxurious gowns and tailored suits filled the grand hall. Laughter, clinking glasses, and polite conversations created the perfect illusion of celebration. Tonight was supposed to be perfect. The engagement party of William Miller and Selena Carter. To the world, it was a union of power and beauty. But beneath the glittering surface, something far more dangerous was unfolding. Annie stood quietly near the edge of the hall, partially hidden behind one of the grand pillars. She didn’t belong here. At least, that was how everyone looked at her. Her dress was simple, elegant but understated. She didn’t try to compete with the women dressed in diamonds and confidence. She didn’t need to. Her presence alone was enough. Her eyes slowly scanned the room. Every detail mattered tonight.

  • The Biggest Mistake, loving my Alpha husband    The Hidden Truth

Three days passed after the incident. Three long, exhausting days. The Miller mansion remained tense, quiet, and divided. Mrs. Miller was still in the hospital, unconscious but stable. Selena had completely taken over the role of the “victim,” staying close to Mr. Miller and acting gentle, fragile… innocent. And Annie Annie felt like she was suffocating. That morning, Annie sat in a small clinic, her hands trembling as she held a white piece of paper. Two lines. Positive. Her vision blurred slightly. “Two weeks pregnant,” the doctor had said gently. The words echoed in her mind.Pregnant. Again. With William’s child. Annie let out a shaky breath, placing a hand over her stomach. So much had already gone wrong. Nathan was still weak. Mia was confused and scared. Selena was destroying everything. And now… This. A soft, bitter smile appeared on Annie’s lips. “Of all times…” she whispered. She didn’t tell anyone. Not Leah. And definitely not William. This was something she

  • The Biggest Mistake, loving my Alpha husband     The Fall

The Miller mansion felt colder than ever. Tension lingered in every corner, thick and suffocating. Annie stood near the staircase, holding Mia close, her heart still racing from Mr. Miller’s shocking declaration. The children will stay with the Miller family. The words kept echoing in her mind. “No… I won’t let them take you from me,” she whispered softly, tightening her hold on Mia. Mia hugged her back. “I don’t want to stay here without you, Mom…” Annie’s chest ached. “You won’t. I promise.” Across the room, Selena stood quietly beside William, her head slightly lowered, playing the part of the fragile victim. But behind her lowered gaze… Her eyes were cold. Calculating. Mrs. Miller stepped forward suddenly. “Enough of this nonsense!” Her voice cut sharply through the room. Everyone turned. Unlike her husband, Mrs. Miller’s expression was filled with anger. She pointed directly at Selena. “This woman is dangerous.” Selena looked up, her eyes already filling wit

The city lights blurred into streaks as William sped through the empty roads. His grip on the steering wheel was tight, his jaw clenched so hard it ached. Nathan. His son. Taken right in front of him. A cold rage burned in his chest, stronger than anything he had ever felt before. “Track her phone,” he ordered sharply. Shawn, seated beside him with a laptop open, nodded quickly. “I’m on it… she turned it off, but I’m tracing her last signal.” William’s eyes darkened. “Find her.” Across the city, in an abandoned warehouse near the outskirts… Nathan sat on the cold floor, his small body trembling. Selena stood a few feet away, pacing. Her mind was racing. Everything had spiraled faster than she expected. But she wasn’t done yet. She looked at Nathan. The boy was weak. Pale. Fragile. One push… and everything could end. But she hesitated. Because if he died too soon, William would never forgive her. No. She needed control. Leverage. “Don’t cry,” she said coldly. Nathan wiped
